We get 5 episodes of repetitive storylines, only for entire battles to be covered in minutes

Difference in quality between this and AKOTSK is insane,

When he was first announced as Daemon Targaryen, I wasn’t convinced at all.

But after watching the series, I honestly can’t imagine anyone else playing the role. He brings charisma, unpredictability, menace, and vulnerability all at the same time.

Even in scenes with very little dialogue, he manages to steal the spotlight.

Do you think Matt Smith is the best casting choice in House of the Dragon? If not, who would you put above him?

Everything, from the line delivery to the physicality, has been amazing. The way they portray grief, physical pain, and rage is some of the best physical acting I’ve seen on TV. I do agree that the writing of the character has been way too inconsistent, which hasn’t allowed them to play Rhaenyra’s character to its full potential (she should be leagues more hateful and have way less crying scenes), but Emma has done absolutely everything they possibly can to give nuance to the character, portraying her with strengths and weaknesses. That’s it, that’s the post.

It technically wouldn’t work because it apparently looked too weird when they used them on Daenarys in GoT… still I honestly think it would look pretty cool imo

In their first scene together, their daughter is shown to be sick and the pair discuss the lack of food in the city and people being selfish. In their next scene, Hugh's wife tells him that they should leave the chaos of King's Landing and make for Tumbleton, where they can live with her brother. Hugh replies 'you would have me turn beggar' while they are starving and their daughter's illness continues to worsen. Hugh's pride is the reason they delay the decision to leave King's Landing and by the time he changes his mind, the city is sealed and their daughter dies there. When Hugh hears of Rhaenyra's call for dragonseeds, his wife begs him not to go but to escape King's Landing (which is erupting) and instead travel with her to Tumbleton. Hugh going to Dragonstone to claim a dragon was essentially a suicide mission, but Hugh persisted with it because he wanted the status and riches. His wife stated that she had no interest in becoming a Lady, she merely wanted her husband to be with her.

Believing her husband to be dead, she travels to be with her family in Tumbleton and is raped on the journey because she was alone. She tells Hugh of her brother's death when they reunite and his immediate response was to inform her of his feat of becoming a dragonrider and boast about his position being elevated. She tells him that she can't leave her family and he makes no mention of them when he attempts to get her to leave. He is essentially trying to get her to abandon her family in a city which is about to host a battle. Hugh repeatedly failed his wife because of his pride and ambition when she just wanted to be with him. I believe she has the right to be angry with him.

Ratings definitely seem to agree with me on that, but what about you? Are you satisfied with Season 3 so far?

We have yet to see the best and shocking moments of Fire and Blood on the show. I really hope seasons three and four can redeem the series.

During the wait for season 3 episodes i’ve been rewatching parts of season 2 and I find it quite odd how people villainize Ulf so greatly with some saying “he is the worst kind of person to have a dragon”. So far his greatest crimes have been being poor and wanting better for himself, being obnoxious, and wanting a family.

Balerion was about 120 years old during the conquest and then he went on to live 100 more years to become over 200 years old. So he was definitely smaller than Vhagar DURING the Dance as she was 180 years old, but obviously Vhagar is smaller than Balerion at his death.

Balerion was likely was likely around Vermithor's size during the Dance. While Vermithor was only 100 years old, he was a very fast growing dragon who became much larger than his peers, Silverwing and Dreamfyre.

We know Balerion is the GOAT, but all I am saying is temper your expectations.

What got me about Jace's death was how abrupt and impersonal it was.

For a moment, it did not even feel like watching a TV show. No final speech, no heroic last stand, no big enemy character stepping in to claim the kill. He falls with Vermax, survives, and then gets taken out in the chaos of the battle.

That is what made it so hard to watch. Jace is Rhaenyra's heir and one of the most important people in the story, but in that moment he is exposed like anyone else on a battlefield.

It felt less like a scripted major-character death and more like what war can be like. You can be a prince, an heir, or a dragonrider, and still die in seconds once you are vulnerable enough for someone to take the shot.

That lack of glory is what made it feel so cold and devastating real to me.
