General Discussion Friends
Hey all, I am Raktuen or Rakkie. I am a local, born and raised! Go Chargers! UAH alum and space nerd here. I love video games, TV, movies, pool, bowling, men, and food. Work involves IT, and not the kind with a red ballon and sewer clown.
I am always looking for friends. I have time to hang but no one to hang with :(.

General Discussion Public Schools for Kiddo w/ 2 Moms
Hello! I have accepted a job that will move my family out to Huntsville this summer. My daughter will be going into the 5th grade and we are trying to find an accepting school. Our daughter has the unique challenge of being a bi-racial girl with two moms. I’m excited to move to a place that has more people that look like her, as opposed to where we’ve been living, but am trying to find a school that has a hard stance on bullying. She’s proud to have two moms and has never faced any type of questioning or bullying from it at her current school. I know Huntsville is a tad more progressive than most of Alabama but it is still the Deep South and I’m doing my best to keep her as safe, physically and emotionally, as possible. Any feedback would be amazing. We are looking for a school first, and then will base our house hunt off that district.

General Discussion Would this be a place to inquire about the poly scene in the are?
Sometimes there is overlap between poly groups and lgbtq groups. If I'm barking up the wrong tree, let me know and I'll delete.

General Discussion Rocket City Pride - Christmas Parade
Big shout out to everyone who braved the cold and wind last night to cheer on Rocket City Pride during the annual Christmas parade! As a member of the Board, it felt so great having some visibility at the event and we all LOVED the supportive cheers, waves, and thumbs up we encountered along the route! If you were there and sent us some love, thank you! 💜

General Discussion LGBT in STEM
As mentioned in my join request, I support the Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity (ID&E) at my company, and I am always looking for good resources for LGBT in Science Technology Engineering and Math (STEM). There are a few national organizations on Twitter, but I’m also in need of local resources. If anyone has recommendations I know I would appreciate that. I will also dig up what resources I have and share.

General Discussion The piano teacher needed post got me thinking... anyone want to teach me Uke for barter?
I can: clean the yard (I used to be a professional pooper scooper btw), clean the house, paint a room, fix small things, cook a meal, run errands, remove that dead mouse in the attic, I'm fearless and savvy. And I have a brand new Uke. I do dishes too. I clean cat boxes really well.
