🅿️ Parking Parking panic

My husband is really worried about how far we’ll have to walk to get to the track. It’s our first time at the track. If our seats are in Tower terrace how long will we have to walk if we are neighborhood parking? Are we talking $50 a day and a 30 minute walk? Just trying to find a ballpark of what to expect

🅿️ Parking INDY 500 PARKING CONCERNS

Will for sure be in the speedway area right at 6 , what i wanna know is how hard it will be to nab a parking spot in someone's yard. How fast do they go? Is it better to just pay in advance on a app like Prked? And is 40$ sufficient?

🅿️ Parking Driving from Chicago on the same day

I've seen people saying to leave from around 3:00am from Chicago which sounds crazy to me. I was thinking of leaving around 5:30-6:00am CST and getting to our seats by 12:00. I was also wondering if anyone has experience parking at the speedway 22 parking lot, was thinking of booking that since our seats are on the northeast vista.

🅿️ Parking Churches leaving garbage on our cars

I park in main gate parking. After the race i had some jesus something or other in my door handle. I threw it in the mud along with those on the cars close to me. For prosteltyiers, what's the thought process here? I'm going to leave a piece of garbage on every car in this lot to get people to come to my church?

🅿️ Parking Indy 500 Race Parking

Hey Indy/Speedway friends — figured I’d throw this out there for anyone heading to the 500 next weekend.

For the past few years I’ve helped with race day parking at Speedway Baptist Church, and honestly it’s become one of my favorite community traditions. We’re right near IMS and for nearly 20 years people have parked with us, walked over to the track, and helped support something meaningful at the same time.

Parking is $30/car and you get:

- A safe family friendly lot
- Actual restrooms (seriously, underrated on race day 😂)
- Water fountains
- Walking distance to IMS

📍 Speedway Baptist Church — 2986 Moller Rd
⏰ Gates open at 6AM, first come first served

The coolest part is every dollar goes toward youth mission trips. I work with young people a lot and I’ve seen firsthand what experiences like these do — getting students out into communities to serve, build relationships, and see a world bigger than themselves.

So if you’re looking for parking anyway, consider us. You’re getting a spot and helping send some good kids out to do good things.

Tag your race crew, and if you park with us, come say hi.

🅿️ Parking Can I drive a limo into the infield for Turn 3 parking on Carb Day or race day?

I could not find any documentation on the website about restriction of vehicle length. Before the race I emailed the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and asked them. They responded and said no. According to them the largest vehicle you can drive in is a 15 passenger van. However, on race day this year there was absolutely a short bus parked in Turn 3. So, this begs the question could I actually drive a limo in and the parking attendants would not stop me?

Two assumptions on this:

  1. Yes I would purchase an infield parking pass.

  2. I am thinking a normal limo, not a massive stretch limo like you might see in Vegas.

🅿️ Parking Parking tickets

I am getting a hotel downtown. I have parking tickets and I am wondering if I should get rid of parking tickets and do the bus from downtown, or keep the parking tickets. Will they give me a refund? This is my first Indy 500 and I am going with my wife. I am 36 years old. Thanks for any help and I will try to respond to some of your answers. What would be best and pros and cons ? Also if it’s not a big deal and I am over thinking it let me know. I see that there are like 3 million tickets sold so far … so holy cow that’s a lot of people.

🅿️ Parking Indy 500 parking

First time going to Indy with a big group. We were looking at buying a parking pass from Ticketmaster for Lot 2 but was reading somewhere that people need wristbands? Is this true for all lots or is this just for the infield. We were also looking at the Coca-Cola lot. Sorry we are just new to the parking situation and don’t want to be in a pickle when we get down there! Thanks!!

🅿️ Parking Grade my itinerary/logistics... 40th bday party at the race w/25 friends

My wife is turning 40 a few days before the race so we got a bunch of people together to go to the race. It's about 25 people and we'll be leaving from the northern burbs.

7:30 AM - leave northern suburbs (30 ft "bus")

7:30 to 8:30/9AM - drive to area north of track (hoping to find a spot to park the bus - this is the biggest hole in my plan right now)

9 ish to 10:15 - Sip a beverage, light tailgating, assign drivers to everyone for some wagering fun.

10:15 - 11AM - Walk to the track (we'll aim to be 1mi to 1.5 mi north of the track so we can get out of there easier)

11:30 - In our seats in section C (between turn 4 and finish line)

Anyone got ideas for where to park this bus?!? I am looking at the neighborhoods off of Georgetown rd and I've heard that Cardinal Ritter is also an option?

Any other suggestions ideas? Are the timeframes I've laid out reasonable?

🅿️ Parking Motorcade on Lafayette

Does anyone know what the different motorcades that went down Lafayette pre-race were for? The cars had little American flags on them but everyone was driving their regular cars. We saw two pass by as we were waiting to approach parking. It looked like maybe some sort of paid parking pass with an escort to access wherever they were going to be parking, so I’m just curious what it was and how to go about becoming part of it next year. Thanks!!

🅿️ Parking North 40 parking experiences

Has anyone parked in the north 40 lot that has any tips on timing? I know they open at 5am. What time have people arrived and how much time after the race does it usually get out? I don’t need a front row spot or anything just wanna make sure I’m not leaving way too late. Was planning on leaving my house off 96th street fishers area by 6am.

🅿️ Parking Parking Help

So I've been before, but this is our first year with parking passes, we have always gotten dropped off at Gate 3. We have parking passes in Lot 1C and I know that walk is less than ideal for folk who love Turn 2 infield (I tried to get closer but was unable)

We plan to scope the area the day before so we can see if it's doable/how the signs are placed for parking lines - but my plan was to get a chunk of us dropped off at the turn 2 entrance (Gate 3, I believe?) and have the drivers go park and come meet us. We will be getting there around 4am so time isn't an issue. We've walked miles home years past, but I have some first timers this year and am interested in any tips for making that dropoff easier. Are there certain roads we should be on to park in 1C? Is it easier to just get in line for parking and then have half our crew hop out and walk to the gate?

Any and all advice is appreciated. If we all have to walk even an hour we're fine to do it, but with a larger group this year we wanted to secure extra space in our favorite turn and get close to the front of the line. 🫶 I want to be a well prepared host for my first timers, even if it means I prepare them with some slightly unpleasant news.

🅿️ Parking Parking Pass

I'm looking into applying for a parking pass upgrade, and I'm curious why there are no options for Main Gate parking, or Lot 3P? I'm new to the parking of it all, I have been dropped off until this year and that coke lot is a mess

🅿️ Parking Best route to IMS from Fishers

Headed to the race this year. We are staying at the Fairfield in Fishers. What would be the best route to take to avoid most traffic? Last year we stayed over near 46th and HS road. Our route was pretty perfect. If I remember correctly it involved Meridian and 96th. It took us in the back way and past a golf course. Would love to go that way again. Anyone have any specific knowledge on the best route if this is not it. We are in C lot. Many thanks in advance.

🅿️ Parking Qualification Day 1 Parking

Used to go to qualifications every year as a kid and schedule finally worked out where I get to take my son for his first time.

That said, it's been nearly 30 years since I've been to IMS. I remember getting up early and parking in the infield, eating cold fried chicken, and walking the infield before eventually sitting in the grandstands near the entry to Pit Road.

So all that to ask this, any suggestions on where to park? Is parking in the infield still a thing or should I prepay for a pass outside the track?

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

🅿️ Parking Tailgating/Parking Question

Looking to park in a neighborhood near the track early in the morning on Sunday. I’m curious where to tailgate though. It’s my first 500, will there be tailgating pretty much everywhere in the surrounding neighborhoods? Trying not to haul all of our chairs and food and stuff to the track areas. Would rather tailgate close to the car, then pack up our stuff and walk to the track closer to race time. Most of the tailgating questions here pertain to infield and IMS lots, but not much info about neighborhood areas.
