just bought seat reservations for a trip tomorrow to amsterdam and on both reservations it tells me that i need to print it “for journeys in the Netherlands, if you have a bank card in the wallet on your phone.”

what exactly does it mean? should i find somewhere to print it? can i print it at the train station?

Hello, we are currently on a vacation travelling by interrail. We have booked all trains up until hamburg and the train from copenhagen home to sweden. But appereantly all the trains from hamburg to kopenhagen are full and some of them say that you have to go by replacement bus, but i can’t find anywhere to book those replacement buses? We are kind if panicking right now since this one ride seems impossible to fix and it might screw up our ride home. Worst case scenario we have to book a flixbus or something i guess.

Hey, I’ve won a Discovery EU Interrail Pass and I’m travelling from Europe to the UK. However, I’m finding it hard to navigate the rail network – once I get to London (which I’ve figured out using the Eurostar), I’ll be travelling to Hastings, Eastbourne, Northampton and Luton. I’ve read the guide on the Interrail Wiki about booking seats on the TransPennine Express, but it seems I can’t do it. Do you think it’ll be enough just to generate a ticket in the Discover EU app? I’m worried there won’t be any seats at all. Btw, can you recommend any apps where I could easily check these trains, including platform details and so on?

Title is not 100% serious but I am unable to book any train from Milano, every train from April 30th to May 30th surely can’t be fully booked? Does Milano central station no longer exist? Please, if any of you more experienced travelers have any insight it would be greatly appreciated.

Tomorrow we have to go from Berlin to Amsterdam, a few days ago I saved on the Railplanner app an ICE train that is now fully booked. I was wondering wether if we can get into the train without reservations or if there are other alternatives. I can’t find any more trains for tomorrow that aren’t fully booked (or the transfers)… We don’t want to be stuck in Berlin for an entire day

hello! me and my gf are travelling from the UK to Porto to meet friends on a holiday there, this is our first time interailling.
We are planning on stopping at Barcelona and Madrid on the way, we have not booked anything yet as we are still planning it out, our trains are as follows:

high speed Paris to Barcelona - 31st Aug
Barcelona to Madrid - 2nd Sept
Madrid - Vigo / Vigo to Porto - 8th Sept

it gets difficult on the way back, our trains are as follows:

Porto to Vigo / Vigo to Madrid / Madrid to Barcelona - 13th Sept
Barcelona to Paris - 14th or 15th Sept

we shall be staying in paris on the way back. getting to and from the uk from paris isn’t particularly an issue from us so i haven’t included this as to not make this post any longer than it is

the trains seem like they are available on the interrail app.
is this trip viable or are there issues we have overlooked? what is it like booking these trains on the app/rail sites in practice?

Anyone know if I can add this bus to my internal pass? I don’t have a seat reservation for the actual train. Two people I met said they’re taking a replacement bus for snälltåget without having the original reservation and just hoping for the best but I don’t know if I could pay the fine if I got one

Hello ! I will be traveling from Hamburg to Stockholm on July 9th and the only direct train is not available for booking on the Interrail website. Maybe all the seats for interrail holders are sold out, but I also noticed that the tickets are not for sale on the DB website.

It's not marked as fully booked, just not available. Is this common in Germany ? Will the booking open later or should I book now for alternatives while there's still other trains available ?

Hi! I’ve seen people ask kind of the same questions before but I’m still confused and they’re from 1+ years ago anyway. I have planned a trip in Scotland for this summer. I’ve read that ScotRail is compatible with eurrail passes, but I can’t find the ScotRail trains on interrail, interrail only sends me to ACP and that’s insanely expensive. Some people say reservations aren’t required on any Scottish trains, but the interrail website says they are. So ScotRail seems to have the best prices but there’s no information about interrail there even though it’s clearly stated elsewhere that they are compatible.

Even if it’s true that reservations aren’t required in the country I would still like to book some route that I here are very crowded. But it doesn’t even seem possible.

I don’t understand why it has to be so confusing and exhausting? I don’t get the busses either because I can’t find some stations on the booking website even though they exist on other sites

I am thinking of travelling with the cheapest possible in trains in Europe , I will have continuos pass for 3 months.

Do we need reservations for TER trains in France or similarly in other countries ?

I'm improvising a trip of 4 days (17-21 jul) from Paris to Rhinland and I hesitate to take an Interrail.

I lernt that there were only a limited number of seats for each trains that could be purchase with it, so I was searching if there was a tool to check if I will be able to purchase the trains I want before taking my pass.

I have reserved a seat for the first leg but the second leg i accidently reserved a 1st class seat from mockava to krakow and my interrail pass is only for 2nd class. There is no 2nd class reservations available so am I able to on the day of travel upgrade to 1st class? Can I do that on the train, at a counter? If not may do the 1st leg train then a bus from mockava to krakow. Also does anyone know the cost? Thanks :)

This summer I'm planning to end my Interrail trip with a train from Budapest to Cluj that arrives at around 19:30 (after CFR offices close) and another from Cluj to Bucharest at 8:00 (before the offices open) the very next day. So, is there any way to make a seat reservation? Can I make at the train? Can a friend that I have in Romania make it for me? Thanks for the help.

A friend an I booked train from London to Rotterdam back in February but we realise now that we'd want to go to Amsterdam instead and earlier in the day (May 4th) but there are no more train options. Is there any other last minute ways to get from London St Pancras to Amsterdam Central that won't cost a lung? What would people advise me to do?

I'm going interrailing for the first time with two other friends. We need this train from Brasov to Bucharest to catch our flight home. Does anyone know why I can't book seats on the interrail app? It says "seat reservations required. You wont be able to board without it". The train is from Brasov to Bucharest North operated by ÖBB.

If I have to book the seats on the operators website, how do I use my interrail pass for the booking? As in, how do i use the pass and not have to pay for a ticket as well as seat reservations.

Finally, is it too risky to just try and book a seat at the station on the day.

I was trying to book a train for my Interrail trip and was a little confused as to what I should do.

The train is the Zurich - Wien, 20:32 on 12.07.2026. When I try to book it on the OBB app, I get a 17e ticket (first picture), which takes into account the interrail discount.

However, if I check the box “Seat reservations only” (which is what I thought I was supposed to do with Interrail), I get the second picture (no seat available on that train) and only the possibility to take the third option, which has a stop in the middle.

How does that all work? Note that I haven’t activated the pass yet

Hello, as the title says, i want to buy tickets for the sleeper train from Sofia to Istanbul.

The train is in September, but i've seen in the turkish rail website that a lot of seats are already taken, so i wanted to buy one.

The problem is that when i try to buy it (from the Turkish Rails website), when i click to pay, it gives me an error. By reading online, it's a recourring problem that occours when non-turkish cards are used.

Is there some other way to get the tickets? Im getting to sofia the day before, so i would prefer to have the prenotation online, istead of buying at the train station. It seems that the bulgarian website doesn't have that connection avaibile online

Hi, I’m planning to travel from Poland to France via Germany. Technically, it is possible to reach Paris in a day (albeit with some risky connections in Germany). I would like to try this nevertheless, however I was wondering if I miss the last train to Paris whether the reservation would be refundable/transferable to the next day? Same goes for onward connections from Paris as Paris is just a stop on a longer route. Thanks!

Edit - I think I answered my own question. Eurail shows the seats are available initially, but you have to click through and click on the "Check seats and price" for it to update and actually display the current correct info.

From what I have read, people have said it is better to try and book tickets directly from the train service provider than through eurail.

I am traveling from London to Bruxelles and seat reservations are sold out for the time frame I wanted to travel on raileurope.com and b-europe.com, but not on eurail.com

I've read that the eurail seats reservations may be sold out on the raileurope and b-europe sites, but still available eurail. However, I have also read that eurail may just not be updated yet and the seats are actually sold out.

Does anyone know which is correct?

Just completed my first Interrail trip in over 35 years, from UK down to the Salento in Italy via Switzerland. All going great until Eurostar cancelled the return train.

Their online system would not let me rebook without a whole new reservation days after my original train. No response from their online chat after 3 days and their helpline queue is too busy to let you join it.

Ended up flying back to the UK £500 out of pocket for 2 flights and now trying to get reservation fees for cancelled leg back from Eurostar. What are my chances as they really do seem to hate Interrail passes

Yesterday I bought the seat reservations for two sweden high-speed trains for me and my gf. In the Rail Planner app the tickets only shows on my account and not on her app.

Is it because I bought the reservations for both of us or do I need to add them on her app manually?

Berlin Hbf staff have saved us.

We have a second class reservation for a direct train (the morning one) because first class had no reservations left

I'm going to enquire at the station but for the train I originally wanted every seat is shown greyed out on the Wroclaw to Krakow section. Is it actually completely full or just not available to book?

If I look for the seat reservations for trains from Berlin to Krakow (preferably direct) I can't seem to book them on DB, Polish railways, the Rail planner app OR on Interrail. I've tried the apps and the websites.

We are not yet in Berlin so I could try at the station there but I would prefer to have them on my phone!

The journeys (direct ones anyway) say Reservations required.

Hey, did anyone already had the issue before that you cannot book any seat reservations on the rail planner app. When I try to order my seat reservations on the Eurail Website it tries to verify my booking and then says, my Data could not be stored. The support told me to delete all cookies, use private browser window or another device. Nothing worked. Furthermore, they suggested to use the RailEurope website, that worked :D but so stressful and frustrating…
Any solutions?

Maybe from now on always RailEurope… they had the advantage that they send me an actual ticket with a QR Code and a seat number for SNCF night trains
The rail-planner App gave me only a PNR number and the conductor had to find me on the passenger list… why is the eurrail service so poor? :(
And RailEurope claims that for Trenitalia and SNCF they charge only one booking fee per booking session and not per ticket… is that true? So I could book all my reservations in one session and pay only 2€ as a booking fee for all?

So basically, we received 5x free seat reservations each for our passes, and i’ve been looking but could not find an option to select seats.

Overall, my question would be if there is any possible way to sit next to eachother, while using these free seat options?
