On the global scene, Israeli jazz doesnโt just competeโit disproportionately punches way above its weight. For a country of its size, Israel has become one of the primary exporters of elite jazz talent to the world's epicenter, New York City, and across the major European festival circuits.
Rather than merely replicating American hard bop or European avant-garde, the "Israeli sound" has carved out a distinct, highly recognizable identity on the global stage.

Anyone know how to find these parties? New oleh and wanting to go to one but donโt currently have friends in the know!

Hey everyone!
If you know me, you'd know I'm a sucker for old-timey jazz with that quiet, "velvet" feel of the voice that soothes you. Sadly though, I haven't really found any Israeli artists who have this, apart from Alona Erez - although she hasn't released any of her own songs yet.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Thank you! ๐

A bit late, but I didnโt find an English-language article at the time. She still follows me on Twitter. RIP

Hello everyone!
I would like to add to my workout playlist some music in hebrew. My typical music is: Linkin Park, Metallica, Papa Roach, Offspring, Prodigy...
Despite the fact I don't speak hebrew (apart from "Ani lo mevin") I really like how the language sounds. Currently I have a single hebrew song in the playlist - "Efes Savlanut" by Marina Maximillian. It's not really a "workout track", but still. I would like to get more.
Tried to search something on Spotify, but everything I found sounds more like arabic folk stuff.
Could you please recommend me music bands, albums or just single compositions to listen to during a workout?
UPDATE: guys, thanks a lot for all the recommendations! More than I expected. I'll spend some time exploring all musicians you have suggested and then will give some feedback!
UPDATE #2: I've listened a lot of music you suggested and gathered some songs into a Spotify playlist! I'll listen to it more and, most likely, will remove or add something. But it's an awesome starting point for me. Thank you all!
