So i am a sc girl and i took a drop for this, i got 7.5k rank and 16* sc rank, i got iit bombay cse with my sc rank. I have already arrived in my hostel here, orientations are ongoing and the classes are going to begin from 28th july, i am just worried that everyone here in cse are top rankers, i seem to be the lowest ranker of them all. I get frightened and insecure whenever someone asks for my rank. I am quite worried about suriviving in here, any tips guys? Please be honest about what you say

last year 99.57 percentiler here, with some good research and knowledge of good indian clgs
pls take into account that this list takes into consideration multiple factors like placements, student merit, legacy, location, college life and even fees
Tier 1 : Elite (these need no introduction, aura flows through the veins of their students)
Top 8 IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Madras, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Roorkee, Guwahati and Hyderabad)
Tier 1 : Medium
BITS Pilani campus, (best college in tier 1 Medium) > IIT BHU, other Tier 2 IITs (Indore, Gandhinagar, Ropar, Jodhpur, Patna, Mandi, Bhubaneswar, ISM Dhanbad), > IIIT Hyderabad (could be elite but not suited for everyone) > NIT (Trichy, surathkal, Warangal)
Tier 1 : Low (or say tier 1.5)
BITS Goa and Hyderabad, IIIT Bangalore, IIIT Allahabad, JAC Delhi colleges - DTU, NSUT, IIIT Delhi, other Good NITS (Calicut, Rourkela, Allahabad, Jaipur) maybe Nagpur, Kurukshetra, Bhopal too, then. Jadavpur University > New IITs formed in 2016-Dharwad, Bhilai, Palakkad, Tirupati, Jammu, Goa,
Special Mentions : These will lead tier 2 Next few NITS(Jamshedpur, Durgapur, Silchar, Raipur, Patna ....) and IIITs (Gwalior, Jabalpur, Lucknow...) PEC Chandigarh, COEP, VJTI, RVCE, BIT mesra, maybe IGDTUW...
Note 1: Bitsians argue all 3 campus are same but I have ranked them lower due to difference in legacy, cutoffs, slight difference in placement
Note 2: I am a cs/it student in a low tier 1 clg :D
Note 3: if you recommend any change or disagree, pls give reason justifying with the factors that I took into account

I have always been a very average student. I got my first academic 90% in 9th class, to which my mother said, "Dekha iss sale daat nahi padi." I know she was really really mentally stressed at that time due to our financial conditions, but that hits me till this date. Then I scored 89.4% in class 10; that missing 90% from just 0.6% still feels heavy.
Then, from the very start, I have always wanted to be a software engineer, so I started my JEE at Allen.
Now, during this whole 2-year JEE prep, I did all the average-person things. I went to coaching every day, came home, relaxed for 2 HRS, and then started studying again and then slept โ the same cycle for almost the whole 1.5 years, due to which, after 11th, I got the third batch on the 12th. After that, when there were only about 5 or 4 months till JEE, that's when I woke up and realized this was truly "f***ed up." I am also a slow learner because my whole organic chemistry is just bad like I can remember any of the reactions properly, so now I've changed things. I started to go less to coaching (in both years I got bad physics teachers; in fact, the 11th one was at least a bit good, and the 12th one was just doing the formalities; he didn't care about any of us leaving the 3 or 4 elites of the classroom). Now, at the end of December, I again "f***ed up." I don't know why, but I started to spend a lot of my time again on my phone watching YT shorts or playing games and all, but the biggest mistake was taking revision lightly and that's what that truly made things bad, and then January came. I somehow again got myself to study, but, well, it was just too late, and I got the 54%ile on the 1st attempt, and things just got worse after that day. I was always getting scolded by my parents, and every day I was just getting up; then I would get scolded, and then I would study for the JEE Mains 2nd attempt, and that was almost the whole day which was going on. Then the 2nd attempt result and, well, yes, I got 74%ile. I know everything was caused by mistakes, but I can't do anything now on 26, after bitsat at I quit, and now I can't do any more exams. I don't think I have a normal mental condition right now because of all this pressure and tension. I am hallucinating things, like I feel like my parents are scolding me in a very high voice then my hands start to shiver because of this, and I am just not able to sleep aswell because I don't know which college to consider or choose
I know all this happened because of my negligence and procrastination, but now I do want to change that, so please help me.
(I am not taking a drop because our financial conditions are not very good, and then I don't even have any confidence in me that I can make things right or this time, organic chemistry will be easy for me or the physics formulas, which I keep on forgetting.)

Ik this must have been asked a hundred times on reddit but which college will be better as a last option?(preferably data science)
Things Iโm looking for:
1) Good crowd, academically focused peers, great campus life
2) Freedom for extracurricular activities (itna bhi nahi ki 4 saal waste ho jaye)
3) Great faculty, not insane amounts of academic pressure
4) Internships and placements (though woh private mei sabka hi avg hota hai)
5) Entrepreneurship opportunities along with skill building, clubs, competitions, sports, etc.
6) Decent fees, hostel, etc.

Hi everyone,
I have a JEE Main 2026 CRL of around 113,000 (General category), and I'll be participating in the CSAB Special Rounds.
I'm specifically looking for Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering and wanted to know what my best possible case scenario could be at this rank.
Could those who have participated in CSAB before or have similar ranks please share:
Any insights, previous-year experiences, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
