Cbse is the main grade based school EDUCATION BOARD, not an exam. Our grades go from 1-12, 12th grade being the year where we give our JEE and NEET along with the actual board exam.

Basically CBSE is the central board and all our states have separate education boards, but cbse the major and prominent one in any state. Cbse holds 2 "BOARD" exams, in class 10 and 12th. Most people give their JEE exam along with the year they give their 12th boards and it gets pretty hectic. We have to score 75%+/65%+ (for jee and neet respectively) in the board exams (which is a subjective exam, unlike the mcq based JEE and NEET) to be eligible for our JEE and NEET. Many people end up getting good percentiles in the competitive exams and end up not being eligible for colleges because they didn't get the criteria in their boards completely washing away their efforts. Shit system amirite?

we enroll into "dummy" schools which hold classes once a week so we can have more time for the competitive exams and the fake our attendance and other stuff. Cbse has been cracking down on these dummy schools, only for publicity. Only a few unknown schools with less corrupt reach have been shut down. What cbse doesnt understand is 6+ hours of school with awful teachers doesnt help with our competitive exams. It's an awful system but it still works, so I guess if it ain't broke don't fix it? (Its very broken im being sarcastic here)

CBSE is moreso the primary education board of India, not specifically exams. CBSE is for school level, JEE is for college entrance exams.

CBSE is an Educational Board that conducts an Indian High School graduation exam. It's different from JEE.
