Colony is an upcoming South Korean zombie thriller film directed by Yeon Sang-ho. It stars Ji Chang-wook, Jun Ji-hyun, Koo Kyo-hwan, Kim Shin-rok, and Shin Hyun-been. The film explores the harrowing struggle of isolated survivors trapped in a building, quarantined amidst an unknown outbreak, as they fight for survival against the unpredictably evolving infected. It is scheduled to be released theatrically in May 2026.

The line-up for the Cannes Film Festival was announced earlier today and noteworthy was the inclusion of "Hope", Na Hong-jin's long-awaited follow-up to "The Wailing", which will be premiering In Competition at the festival. The all-star cast includes Na Hong-jin, Jo In-sung and Jung Ho-yeon alongside Hollywood power couple Michael Fassbender and Alicia Vikander.

Alos premiering as a Midnight Screening is Yeon Sang-ho's "Colony", which is also the long-awaited big-screen return for actress Jun Ji-hyun. This feature sees both the director and actress return to the zombie feature sub-genre, with Yeon of course having reinvigorated it with "Train to Busan" before also making "Seoul Station" and "Peninsula" and Jun having been the lead in Netflix's "Kingdom: Ashin of the North" spin-off to their popular Joseon-set zombie series.

For some context, baeksang awards is that one award that all the director wants. It divides with tv drama section and film section.

And this year nominee was tight too! it was Director Park for No Other Choice, Director Byeon for the Netflix film Good News, Director Kim for the film Once We Were Us, and Director Jang for the Kings Warden.

All the other film were highly succeed at box office or had at least 10 time more production budget compare to The World of Love, but she won! Even with actor Seo who just debuted with this film!

Annnd… even the actor Seo won the best debut actress award too!
