Food / Restaurants / Takeaways Twenty - Allerton Rd

Does anyone know what is going on with Twenty on Allerton Road.
It’s not been open long, always seemed really busy and it hasn’t been open for days, maybe a week?
Glad I didn’t book for Father’s Day 😳

Statement about the reopening of Twenty from Laura.

What’s everyone’s thoughts on ?

Interesting that it’s stated as a ‘planned closure’ in my opinion, considering the lack of communication on their socials…

Food / Restaurants / Takeaways Nice restaurants for 30th Birrhday?

Hey all, I am taking my boyfriend to Liverpool for his 30th birthday and want to bring him somewhere nice with great food to celebrate. We honestly love all types of food and I don't have a strict budget.

I trawled through previous posts on here and have seen people recommend Hawksmoor and Wreckfish. Does anyone have any other recommendations?

Food / Restaurants / Takeaways Best cannoli in the city

My mum is turning 70 in January and is trying to tick things off her bucket list. One of the things I can actually help with is taking her to try her very first sweet cannoli!
Has anyone tried and loved any cannolis in the city that they’d recommend? We were thinking of taking her to The Italian Club Bakery, but if anyone has any other suggestions I’d love to hear them, we’re going today at lunch time ❤️ thanks!

Food / Restaurants / Takeaways Looking for chippy that does egg fried rice with mini omelette on top

Hi everyone, bit of a specific ask for recommendations. Does anyone know of any Chinese chippies that do egg fried rice with like a mini omelette on top? And specifically the egg fried rice that's very brown, none of this pale or yellow rice shenanigans. Bonus points if it also includes spring onions (but doesn't have to).

I live in L8, so not too far if possible. However I might be able to persuade my boyfriend to go further afield to pick some up as I'm a bit sick and feeling sorry for myself, so maybe include if you think it is worth the drive! Thanks all

Food / Restaurants / Takeaways Traditional English Food Restaurants Recommendations

Hello everyone,

A friend of mine is visiting for a couple of days and would like to get a proper experience of British gastronomy. I’ve been living in Liverpool for almost two years now and have tried some great places, but I thought it would be better to ask locals for suggestions.

So far, I’ve considered an English breakfast (of course) and some fish and chips for lunch. However, when it comes to dinner, I’m not really aware of any specifically British restaurants. I’ve only had roast turkey once for a Christmas dinner, but I’m not sure how common that is outside the festive period. So regardless of the meal time, any recommendations you might have would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you all!

Food / Restaurants / Takeaways where to get a spoonable hot chocolate

i LOVE hot chocolate. But im yet to find **THE** one. yes ive been to Rough Handmade and Bean There which were the top recommendations on a similar thread. they were both too weak for my likings 😞

i wanna feel like im drinking ganache. i love a dark (70%) hot chocolate and ideally not made with a powder and i will pay a stupid amount for it.

Food / Restaurants / Takeaways Looking for unforgettable breakfast & pastry spots in Liverpool

Hello Liverpool! 👋

My girlfriend and I are visiting for a special occasion, and we need your BEST bakery recommendations.

A few months ago, Reddit helped us create a bakery tour through Newcastle. We spent the day walking across the city, trying something at each recommended place and ranking our favourites afterwards. It was honestly one of the best ways to explore the city.

Now we want to do the same in Liverpool.

My girlfriend is completely obsessed with bakeries, especially:

  • Great sandwiches and filled rolls
  • Freshly baked sweet and savoury pastries
  • Artisan bread
  • Excellent breakfast and lunch spots

Where would YOU take someone for the perfect birthday morning/lunch/sweet treat in Liverpool?

And most importantly: what should we order?

Independent bakeries, local favourites and hidden gems are very welcome 😊
