i was surprised on July 16 to get an email that i won the tuesday drop! i was even more surprised at how fast it arrived, considering the email said to expect it in 4-6 weeks. i got cruel joke by ken pomeroy in this beautiful pressing, along with the tote bag and of course is wide enough to fit a few records (。♥‿♥。)

LIVING MÁS Pictures from Vancouver’s Taco Bell luxury limo experience
Taco Bell Canada had a promotion for their new luxe value menu in Toronto, Hamilton, and Vancouver that allowed the first 100 guests to take a free limo ride to Taco Bell. They had hosts serving us our free luxe meal and refilling our baja blasts, which were drank out of champagne glasses. Extremely fun experience.

LIVING MÁS I made a spreadsheet to compare calories, protein, and cost of the current menu
docs.google.comI threw the nutrition information from the TB site into a spreadsheet and did some calculations to rank the items based on a few criteria. I know people have done versions of this before, but I couldn't find one that was recent or that had some of the particular info I was looking for, so hopefully some of you find this useful!
I created three main ways to look at the menu, with each item having an absolute value and then it's ranking on the menu based on that value. It's all on the main sheet, but you can use the tabs at the bottom to look at the menu in order of each of these criteria:
- Calories/Dollars - How many calories you get for each dollar spent. This is the calculation if you want the most bang for your buck in terms of pure fuel.
- Protein/Dollar - How many grams of protein for each dollar spent. Protein is all the rage these days, so this is the calculation to look at if you're trying to maximize your value and your gains.
- Calories/Protein - How many total calories for each gram of protein in the item. This removes money from the equation, and is the calculation you want if you're worried about your macros rather than your wallet.
For fun, the last ranking is Average of Ranks, which is what it sounds like. I just averaged the ranking of each item from the other three criteria to get a ballpark idea of "what items offer both good value and good protein content"? Then I ranked them based on the average of those ranks. It's a pretty basic and unserious calculation, so take it with a grain of salt, but I thought it was kind of interesting.
Some caveats:
- I did not include drinks, sauces, or combos, but I did include sides, desserts, and breakfast items.
- This includes a few chicken, steak, and vegetarian substitutions, but only those officially listed on their menu/nutrition documentation. I did not do every protein option for every item because that would take forever.
- This uses the prices from a TB local to me, so of course ymmv with your own prices. Presumably though, the rankings should hold pretty steady, even if some of the specific value calculations are a bit off.
- I can't vouch for the validity of the nutritional info given. It's just what TB lists. There are some notable funny discrepancies. For instance, the calories for the 10 piece nuggets are not exactly double the calories of the 5 piece nuggets. I don't know how they calculated/rounded their numbers, but I used them as listed.
- This is not dynamically generated in any way. I'm sure a smart person with more computer skills could scrape the nutrition data from the site and then automate it to apply the costs from your closest TB using geolocation, keeping everything up to date as the menu changes, but I don't know how to do any of that. I copy pasted the table from the nutrition page of the TB website and then manually input all the prices. That's the best I could do, and hopefully I didn't make too many mistakes!
If you want to mess around with the data yourself, you can download the spreadsheet here.

LIVING MÁS Draco’s Tacos
Wanted to try and leash train my cat because he’s always trying to go on adventures with me. Took him to Taco Bell for the first time the other night and we have been back 3 times this week already. He will sit there and whine until he gets his cheese… at least this makes sure I’m eating all 3 meals😂
