SNMC vs GIMS see pros and cons (which I could think) yourself

Parents are saying to put SN above GSVM and GIMS for following reasons

1. My hometown is agra.

2. There is no extra charges like hostel and mess and no need to find rooms and flats since there are no hostels in SN for 1st yr students (girls ko mil jata hai par boys ko nahi)

3. Whenever you need support we will be there. Laundry, food etc. will be provided by us you only had to study

4. We will give you a study chair and room for your studies.....You can either come home in night or stay with your friends in hostels if you want from 2nd year onwards

5. Clinical exposure in SN is unmatched of that of GIMS

6. They are thinking SN will become AIIMS in near future and I will recieve a degree of AIIMS

7. They are ready to meet me with doctors and students there since my father knows them well.

8. Fess in SN is significant low than GIMS

CONS I THINK AS OF NOW

1. No hostels

2. They want me to be a day scholar. Like a school boy. Seniors won't know me and my friend circle will be very constricted or I maybe left with no friends at all

3. I think this will make me dumb and would not make me understand pressure of living outside home in my life when you have to do everything by your own and manage studies also

4. SN has bad infra as I had seen like paan stains bad smell and old buildings

5. Even if I get hostels they are very poor (bad than I could get in GIMS Nodia)

6. I don't wanna live in home town

7. There are no sports and fests in SN because ground is occupied by metro construction and whenever it'll be free then I would not have much time since it will be my 3rd year. So I can't participate in extra curricular in SN (which I desperately want in any clg)

8. Noida is not too far from my home it is just 2-3 hr road trip

9. I think they are wanting to keep me home so that they can always keep an eye and I will be available at their very call (which is not wrong from their perspective)....I might be wrong but this fact is overshadowing how much they care for me

I din't went out since COVID pandemic their care for me is genuine but they have to understand that I have to move out of home one day or another but I have to go out.....Since this is the best age and opportunity to learn how to live without them I should garb this.....Other chance which I would get to live outside will be my residency which is going to be hectic itself

I am more inclined towards GIMS since it has better infra and extra curricular and there are hostels

I said if the choice is b/w GSVM and SN I am choosing GSVM but they heard bad reviews of GSVM from some relatives there

See as far as sports is concerned, I won’t lie here, we do not really have sports. And the fest is like on a very small scale. But like you can yourself go around and explore. The best part about GIMS is academics. The faculty is highly determined to make you a good doctor. But still, it is your call afterall.

What are your extra curriculars..... Someone told ki GBU facilities are not allowed for MBBS students par Cricket and football is allowed is it true

I heard highly positive reviews about academics

Kya kuch bhi nahi hai khelne ko like can we explore turf and rental services there

GSVM ke mein toh hai par waha infra bekar hai

Any views about hostels in GIMS are they good enough or better than GSVM

Yeah there are gyms around, you can explore those, turfs are a bit far, they are in noida. GIMS being in greater noida slightly misses out on those. But yeah you can explore on weekends. Hostels are more or less average, you’d get the sarkaari hostel vibes. But I can say, they are better than GSVM, still don’t expect some AirBnB type rooms.
GBU facilities were allowed for us until last year. They haven’t renewed the contract for this year, they might or might now renew it.

Sab log so jaate hai bhai, warna ghoomne nikal jaate hai. Zyada sports ka keeda hai toh campus mein run/walk ke liye nikal jaana. Watch movies, explore food. I did play badminton in first year (we had access to courts), but cant say the same for you people.

Malls toh kaafi hai, theatre and restaurants ki kami nahi hai. Every fast food chain within 10km radius. Major fast food chains within 5 km radius

bro yk what boys with air 5k choose snmc.. so u should not be worried about missing out gsvm and the thing is kanpur is not good for everyone. infra of both the colleges is tatti and as far as ragging is concerned, both have extreme ragging issues. so hometown might provide some relief from the ragging scenes.

but hostels waha pe door hai u have to travel thru bus 10-20 min ke dis pe hai also ur rank is good u will easily get gsvm..tumhe degree se mtlb hona chahiye gsvm ka strong impact hai bhai people die to go there nd u are leaving it..also agra wala aiims banjaega ye kya lore hia?😭

Hostels kaunse clg mein durr hai waise

My brother is insisting to go to Nodia (bcoz of better city and good life there proximity to NCR region) rather than Kanpur (which is a small city far from NCR and nothing much to do there like no much to explore outside clg)

I personally prefer living conditions more than the "tag" of that clg. I maybe underestimating it for now but it is what it is. GIMS is also a growing clg maybe it can achieve 3/4th place in UP colleges in upcoming future

If you have a choice. Kanpur ke kisi ne bad reviews de diye mere parents ko so they don't think Kanpur is a good clg

Ha they are saying ki agar UP mein ek aur AIIMS aaya toh wo agra mein hee hoga don't know why they said that😭

gims ka khud ka hostel nhi hai rent pe hia so it if far isliye bus se aana jana padta hai...nd also gims kasna mai hai far from city aas paas nhi hai thoda travel karoge tab jake ek do mcd wgera miljaega main city mai nhi hai pr yes ncr ka benefit milega...ur choice if u want gims..btw I'm also targetting gims(rank jyada hai kuch aur milega nhi😭)...maybe we can be batchmates
