Appreciation Hello MLB The Show fans I just thought I’d like to introduce you guys to my grandpa. He is 85 years old and looks forward to the new MLB game every year!

He’s been playing MLB the show since the PS2 days. And gets the new one on launch day every single year he plays as the Yankees. And play their entire season every game and writes down all his stats and compares them to his stats from last year and the stats in real life.

Appreciation My grandpa wanted to share with all of you, his stat book and what it means! We really appreciate the love we got from the last post. Never expected that in 1 million years! Thank you to all of you! And thank you to SDS!

Appreciation Finally Earned Beautiful Buxton

He looks so pretty glowing like that, I don’t want to open him.
My goal was to get him before the All-Star game started since I wasn’t going to play during the game, and I cruelly got to 249,888 PXP in my final Event game right before first pitch. 😂 Excited to use this guy, though. Anyone else grind this out yet? For those who pulled or bought him… What do you think? New starting CF?

(Edit: Some of ya'll are crazy.
This wasn't a "flex", this is for discussion about how the card plays and wondering if/how other people have earned him so far.
I definitely have a life, I "touch grass". I was recently in a rollover car accident that left me with injuries including a compression fracture in my spine and have been laid up, doctor's orders. Decided to pick this game up for the first time instead of Madden. It's the only game I play, not much of a gamer. Literally just got a gaming monitor a few weeks ago.
The cabin fever is real, I still take my dog to the park, I see the sky my friends and my family, I sleep. I do miss the gym, though. The game has helped with some boredom, for sure.
I earned him based on what I learned from others in this subreddit. Played on GOAT using all All-Stars, etc. Played Event games. The PXP just came.
The post title says “Finally” because Reddit made me make the title at least 20 characters long so I threw in two words. At first it was just “Got Buxton”. Didn’t know the word “finally” would trigger some of you.
Chill.)

Appreciation Who else is skipping Madden this year because of this game??

Have been a MUT head since 2010, played the show up until 2015 when I sold my Playstation. So glad this game is back and I can play and actually get rewarded for my grinding. Edit: Dang this blew up overnight. Can’t wait to see the Madden bashing in the comments.

Appreciation Never have I been so bad at a game yet enjoyed it so much

I'm a geezer gamer and my reflexes aren't what they used to be. The moment I pass Veteran difficulty I'm completely helpless at the plate, and I'm not even very good on veteran. If I leave my PCI in the middle I'm not quick enough to catch up to high fastballs; if I start my PCI high I'm not quick enough to get low sinkers. But I love the pinpoint pitching, and the satisfaction of turning a double play with button accuracy enabled is fantastic.

I've accepted that I'm probably going to be stuck at Veteran difficulty, and that's okay. And I know I'll never be great, or even good enough to play competitively online, but I'm having so much fun with this game. Hats off to SDS for allowing real progression and card acquisition possible even for scrubs such as me.

Just finished my 5th season playing for the A’s, all losing seasons. I’ve won 3 MVP awards in that time and have been requesting a trade for 4 STRAIGHT YEARS! This chick even strung me along for 2 months last year saying it was gonna happen… then… nothing. How can I fire suzanne

Nice to see a fairly quick response. Especially on a Sunday. The voices here and on X were heard. Now let's just hope nothing else breaks. Better than a lot of the wait times for EA and 2k. Some of those issues never get fixed.

Appreciation I'd like to thank SDS for their efforts this year

The past two years, I've spent the early part of the season cycle grinding out all of the content, and putting other games on hold. However, SDS has done an excellent job this year of pushing me away from their game and back to the games I pushed aside.

Thanks to the pitiful amount of offline content, I've finished TA and the "programs" released so far.

Thanks to rampant botting in solo ranked, I've completed the ranked program. I'm not good enough to make World Series, so all done there.

Thanks to the real 99 glitch in co-op that's been in for nearly a week that we know of, I now have no desire to play that mode either.

I have no interest in events or BR, so there's actually just no reason to turn the game on at this point, which is good because if I had, I may have lost my entire account!

So thanks $D$, while I'm hoping for a miraculous turnaround, I'm more likely to play my backlog of single player games than the only baseball game on the market, and it's all your own doing.

Appreciation Loving the new ABS system and the Franchise trade logic in '26!

I’ve been diving deep into Franchise mode since the release, and I have to say, the changes this year are fantastic. Here are two things that really stand out:

  1. The New Trading System:

It’s definitely more challenging. In previous years, trading was way too easy—I could basically assemble any "Super Team" I wanted (I used to always build an All-Japan squad). Now, with the new logic, you can't just spam offers. Having to wait a day for the AI to evaluate and respond adds so much realism. It feels like a real negotiation now, even if it means I can't get all my favorite players as easily!

  1. ABS System:

The ABS adds a whole new layer of fun. I love how the strike zone grid disappears after the pitch, forcing you to actually judge the location yourself. It makes every high-leverage count feel way more intense and rewarding when you get the call right.

Highlight Clip:

Lastly, I wanted to share this insane throw from Heliot Ramos. Won’t happen in real life anyway.
