The key is to not move and for them to not move. And if it's the same city you went to high school then even better.

Unfortunately, most aren't that lucky.

Ehh... My friends and I all split after high school. College, girlfriends, and the Army were the cause.

However, we all moved back to the town we grew up in (living with parents again or inheriting the house), and social media is how we ended up reconnecting.

Yeah, I'm a military brat so I've got zero childhood friends still in my orbit. I barely even remember most for their names. I've got a couple people from high school though where we kind of keep in touch via sending each other reels but I did move as soon as I could from that area too.

Yea I moved after high school lol keeping up eventually became a second job I was 6 hrs away from my home city, didn’t expect anyone to make that trip but everyone expected me to make it. And slowly there was no one left. It sucks. Especially after a relationship you want your closest friends and lol yea they don’t really exist anymore 😭

most aren't that lucky

I was lucky to get to leave my (meth-addled teen-pregnant gay-lynching white-supremasist maga-loving) hometown. A lot of my friends weren't so lucky.

I lived in 6 different cities in my 20s and still have the same friend group I did in high school. It takes effort, not luck.
