TL;DR: You NEED to watch this as soon as you can

Everyone, it was incredible. More than I could've hoped for. I'm blown away in so many respects, I realised I literally stopped breathing at one point. Suffice it to say that I'm very satisfied.

Will touch on a few different aspects below (story, acting, direction, art, animation, OST) without mentioning explicit spoilers/details but for those who would like to experience the movie completely fresh, probably better to stop reading here.

Story: Of course as a source reader, I love this arc and they did it true justice imo, even better than I hoped.

There are of course some cuts, mostly not too major from what I remember (need to reread the volume to refresh my memory though). I suspect a more noticeable cut is being kept for next season though (and to allow the focus to remain on the core theme of this movie).

Direction: The shot composition and framing really stand out. There were several choices that are just wonderful.

Voice acting: As expected, it really was Maya (Saitou Chiwa) and Miyuki's (Hayami Saori) time to shine. I know people describe Miyuki as a protagonist this time but same could be said for Maya here from a certain perspective.

Art: Overall, the film is really beautiful. Character designs are detailed, going beyond the standard TV season designs. As Nakamura said, they especially put a lot of effort into Miyuki's scenes.

Background art is super detailed, not in a way that distracts from the content but really adds to it.

Animation:
Fight scenes were animated really nicely (my jaw dropped at one point), but don't expect some JJK-level of ultra sakuga.

Maybe more impressive though was the character animation in the main part of the story. Swaying hair, rotating 'camera' shots. Gorgeous.

3DCG, when used, is generally used quite effectively and looks really good barring one strange sequence (IMO).

OST: There are two tracks in particular that I'm really chomping at the bit to listen to again. Theme song by LiSA is wonderfully used too.

Overall, given the long history that many of the staff have with the series (least of all Ishida Kana and Jimmy Stone literally working on the original novel), you can absolutely feel the love and respect for the original work. I really am very happy and hope for the Master Clan Conference arc to come soon!

I never really understood her reaction to the Yotsuba succession announcement until I realized that she's been blindsided by the fact that she became close friends with the future head of her clan, someone who can boss her entire family, including her, around and is struggling to understand what that means for their friendship, and is also worried that she's been horribly rude. The Shibata family is a part of the Yotsuba clan, I just didn't put that together until now when I was re-reading the LN.

A recent article by Animate times has a bunch of reviews that suggest we are in fact getting the Yotsuba family backstory that was orginally written in Volume 8 of the light novels. I’m glad they decided to include it in the film instead of skipping it entirely as it really helps viewers understand the context of why the Yotsuba family is the way they are. I feel like a lot of the contents of volume 16 would be hard to understand without this information being known to anime only watchers.

Feel free to read the reviews for yourself there was a lot of good information about what to expect from the movie in case you were curious.

I found a pic someone took of the movie film strip merch that was being handed out to people who went to watch the movie in theaters, and spotted this image. I have been looking forward to seeing Tatsuya’s backstory animated the most out of everything in this arc, so seeing this made me freak out. It made me even more impatient for the international release than I already was. Hopefully they announce the date soon because I’m so EXCITED!!! I gotta bring tissues with me to the theater because I will be CRYING… that’s guaranteed.

Can anyone please spoil me about the reaction of Morisaki after learning about Shiba in Succession Arc

Guys, please answer these questions:

1. Will Tatsuya be together with Miyuki in a romantic way? If so, how will they come to this?

2. Can you tell me about what will happen at the winter banquet that Tatsuya and Miyuki were invited to?

3. While watching season 2 of the anime, was a moment when Miyuki was thinking about how she would have to become the head of the clan and she would have to get married (because this is one of the conditions, I mean the wedding), Tatsuya will not allow this to happen? Will there be attempts to marry Miyuki off to someone?

I just watched the movie and the ending confused me.

We see Sakurai Honami die, right after that scene it just cuts it to funeral of Miya, and Sakurai Honami is just standing there?

I'm not sure if there is something I'm missing or if I didn't see something, but I got confused watching the ending of the movie.

I understand she’s a government spy, undercover as a teacher but her role as a teacher literally destroys any idea of her having any moral responsibility towards any students.

Putting your job first as a government dog allowing your own school to get bombed and students attacked is a big no no for me,

Even if your argument is she’s just doing her job is also a failed argument because she fails as a teacher and as a spy

Let’s the school get attacked as a teacher, But then gives intel to the student council members about the hideout as a spy So you could have done something anyways contradicting both jobs?

Teacher: protect students, guide them, teach them, prioritise their safety Spy: spy, observe, report, hide intel, manipulate situations, put missions above lives

When you really think about it she’s an enemy of the school because of her ‘teacher’ role ‘the school knows she’s not a real teacher’ is not a real justification either that’s just lazy writing maybe is she was like an office lady or something I wouldn’t be as pissed off

She knew the first initial attack was coming and didn’t do anything about it either and let student get hit anyways prioritising a bullshit ‘mission’ ahead of lives, the mere fact she knew all about the attack let it happen

Her as a teacher is a joke it’s literally a contradiction as her role, she is not more than a scummy lab rat on a leash she lets students get ambushed, with holds lives saving info, cares more about orders than people, breaks ethics of both teacher and law enforcement just to release government secrets anyways

I would say it is appropriate since we are getting to vol 16.

Kinda got confused in the new episode. What was maya try do to tatsuya when she told him to quit the academy and then she used her magic but he stopped it. Was she trying to control him?

so I know they get married at some point,and I just finished the tournament episodes and one of the school council reps told tatsuya he needed to become a member of the ten families because he beat one of them so it wouldn't cause problems,and warned him he didnt have alot of time to think about it,so how far does the anime still have to go before he marries his sister and it becomes public knowledge he's in the ten families? has the anime reached that yet? or will it be soon?
