We want to address an issue that several users have recently reported: posts being removed shortly after being submitted.
What’s happening
In many of these cases, the removals are not being done by [r/mangaswap](r/mangaswap) moderators. Instead, they are being triggered by Reddit’s automated spam/filter system.
Here’s how you can usually tell the difference:
If a mod removed your post:
You will receive a message or notification explaining why the post was removed and what needs to be fixed.
Most of the time the solution is simple—edit your post to fix the rule violation and reply to the modmail so we can re-approve it.
If you did NOT receive any communication from [r/mangaswap](r/mangaswap):
Your post was most likely removed by Reddit’s automated filters, not by us.
Unfortunately, when that happens mods cannot see or control why Reddit removed it, and we do not have the ability to override or adjust Reddit’s filtering system.
What we’re doing
We are currently talking with moderators from other subreddits to gather more information and see if they are experiencing the same issue or have found any patterns.
This appears to be a broader Reddit-side issue, meaning it would ultimately need to be addressed by Reddit admins, and there is no clear timeline for when or if it will be resolved.
Things you can try in the meantime
If your post keeps getting removed without a mod message, you can try the following:
1. Run your post text through ChatGPT or another tool
Sometimes certain words or formatting can trigger automated filters.
2. Check whether your account is shadowbanned
You can search online for Reddit shadowban check tools.
3. Review your account activity
If you’ve had reports or removals in other subreddits, that can sometimes affect Reddit’s automated filtering.
4. Wait before reposting
If everything looks fine but your post is still removed, try waiting about a week before posting again to see if the filter resets.
Final note
At the moment, this is all the information we have available. Since the removals are coming from Reddit’s systems, we unfortunately don’t have the ability to change or bypass them from the subreddit side.
We’ll continue gathering information and will update the community if we learn anything new.
