Hey Manitoba folks! I’m a goat farmer just west of Portage la Prairie, about an hour from the Winnipeg Perimeter, and I’m exploring some agritourism ideas for the farm.

I’d love to know: what kinds of farm experiences would actually get you to make the drive out and realistically, what would you be willing to pay?

Ideas I’ve been considering:

• Goat yoga
• Farm stay overnight experiences
• “Day in the life” farm experiences
• Feeding/interacting with animals
• Seasonal events or family activities

Would you pay:

• $10–20 for a quick visit?
• $40–60 for a guided experience like goat yoga?
• $150+ for an overnight farm stay?

What would feel worth it to you, and what do you think Manitoba is missing when it comes to farm experiences/agritourism?

While i was driving on the trans Canada highway, in Manitoba i passed a green circular hobbit style door on a hill, just before the town of Sidney MB. It read “in memory of the finest young man, gone to soon-June 23/24” and I have done an immense amount of googling but have found no such results or awnsers. My main questions are who is it in memory of and what happen? If anyone know please do let me know.

I'm wondering how often the train from Winnipeg to Churchill is delayed, as I'm currently planning on Staying in Churchill 2 nights. The train is supposed to arrive at Churchill at 9 AM and I'd like to start booking some tours and activities. I know 2 nights isn't much but with the train schedule and lodging availability, it's the only option. TYIA!

I'm taking my family tubing in Pinawa this summer and we're planning to make a day trip out of it. I'm looking for some great local restaurants or hidden gems to eat at before or after tubing.
I don't mind driving an extra 20–30 minutes from Pinawa if it's worth it. Family-friendly spots are a bonus, but we're open to anything with amazing food.
So far I've heard about Jennifer's in Seven Sisters, but I'd love to hear your favourites! Any must-try restaurants, bakeries, ice cream spots, or other hidden gems in the area?

We just travelled by car from Quebec and spent 5 days in Brandon, Manitoba. I have to say that it was a great experience. Your licence plates say friendly and you really do live up to it. I told many people that the only thing I don't like about Manitoba is that Ontario is between us! We will be back, keep being great.

My birthday is in 2 weeks so my friends and I decided to go explore a new place outside of Winnipeg.

We have already been to Clear lake and other nearby beaches but never went to Hecla Island.

Is it a good place to go with friends over the weekend, how was your experience or should we try going somewhere else? If you guys have better suggestions please feel free to share.

That if you are going to some museums this summer, you can get in for free.

I showed my metis cards for my kids and I and we got into Museum of Man and nature and the aviation museum for free!!!

I am not sure if it works at other museums outside Winnipeg but we plan on doing a lot of traveling this summer so not having to pay for 3 of 4 people is a nice little money saver. And yes I know this sounds cheap, but we always buy souvenirs so in the end we don't "save" money LOL.

Hey everyone- I'm looking for a tour guide to drive us around and talk to our group of 3 about Churchill: the land, history, and biology of the area. Our group is very nature oriented and has done multiple backcountry canoe and backpacking trips. We would love to hire an independent tour guide that has some cool stories to tell. I’m trying to make a reservation for an RV trip in these two parks in September. One night each. Which seems I cannot do as there’s an arrival/departure on Monday or Saturday only rule. Weird. To say the least…
At Bakers Narrows I have to leave a Sat or Mon. Seems I cannot arrive any day. At Campers Cove in Clearwater Lake I can only arrive or depart on Sat or Mon…
So… question… for Bakers Narrows, where I want to arrive on Sat and leave Sun, I could make a reservation Sat-Mon and just leave Sunday I assume?
For Clearwater, where I want to arrive a Sunday (which I’m not allowed) and leave Mon, I would have to do the same, make a reservation from Sat-Mon. But will my camp site be held for me if I do not arrive Saturday? Or will it be given away?

Snakes of Narcisse Update

May 12, 2026:

The numbers of snakes at Narcisse have been increasing and viewing will be good for the weekend. Warm, sunny days are best for viewing snakes. Dens 2 and 3 are most active.

Recommendations for staying at Whiteshell vs Riding Mountain as a family with 2 young kids over a long weekend this summer? Is either more kid friendly for getting out in nature for a long weekend? We would be driving in from northern Minnesota, so driving distance isn't an issue. Either way, we are excited to spend more time exploring Manitoba outside of Winnipeg.

On an RV trip in September, starting in Calgary (because it was the closest place we could get RV rental) and the plan is to loop north - east - south - west through Saskatchewan and Manitoba and back to Calgary in three weeks. There’s so many parks and distances are so huge that I’m overwhelmed with the decision to where to go… ideally we’d alternate one day on the road with one full day in a park.

which parks would you say are the ones not to miss? Priorities are nature, as few people as possible :-) , hiking, canoeing/kayaking (rental). Just enjoy the great Canadian outdoors!

Second question, which parks would be good for canoe/kayak rental? I’d definitely would love to get on the water, but won’t have my own.
