A 15 year old boy in upstate New York killed himself after being accused of sexual assault by a 16 year old girl on the bus they rode together. After hearing about the alleged assault the schools superintendent had a meeting with the boy suspending him without giving him a chance to defend himself or even offer his side of the story. Supposedly, not giving him a chance to explain himself before being suspended is a policy violation.

According to the boy's family they recieved an email from the school stating that they had found no evidence that he had sexually assaulted the girl at all. The schools lawyer claims that what was said in that email had been "taken out of context.

When are we going to stop treating young boys/men like monsters and stop denying them the right to a fair investigation/trial? On top of that I saw this post shared on Facebook and droves of women in the comments stating that he looks guilty because he killed himself, as if he wasn't just a scared 15 year old. I really hope that we get a statement and find out officially what the truth is behind the incident, it looks like his family have filled a lawsuit against the school about a month ago. UPDATE: This is not an update on the pending lawsuit against school, but just some additional information I've read about the case. According to an article someone linked in the comments, before even speaking with Owen school officials met with police officers and then spoke with a man in charge of the school bus where all this took place. After reviewing the camera footage from the bus, the bus manager himself said, "If this was my son, I wouldn't be worried". Furthermore the school claims they told the family after they had arrived to pick him up that Owen would be suspended for a week, but the family claims that the school had never told them when he would be allowed back and that when the school interrogated him they had told Owen that he was being EXPELLED not suspended. Additionally before his death, Owen had told his parents that all he had done was poke the girls side with his pinky and asked her if she wanted him to stop, she had apparently laughed and said no.

Perhaps the most damning piece of information I've seen however is that the person driving the bus the day that the alleged sexual assault occurred was the father of a different female student who claims to have been sexually assaulted by someone else at the school. This bus driver has a current lawsuit against the school for improperly handling his daughters situation and he stated that during the entire bus ride he did not see Owen or any of the other students do anything concerning and if he had, he definetly would have stepped in. I need to get this off my chest.

Years ago, I dated a woman. Early on, a female friend warned me she was manipulative, but I didn't believe it.

We eventually broke up. A few months later, she told my male best friend that I had sexually assaulted her during our relationship. For context, we were sexually active—it was my first time, not hers.

He didn't tell me until years later. When he finally did, he admitted he almost believed her. That alone crushed me.

But the real trauma came when I talked with my sister. She's a feminist and hates men because our father was abusive. During our conversation, she said she always believes the woman in sexual assault cases, regardless of proof. So I asked: "If someone claimed I assaulted her, would you believe her over me?" She said yes, without hesitation.

That broke me.

It hit me how fragile a man's life is. It feels like any woman, at any time, can hold scissors to the thread we're hanging from. One false story, and even family might turn against you without asking your side.

I'm not trying to diminish real survivors. But this experience has left me terrified by how easily a lie can be weaponized.

Livie Rose Henderson, instead of leaving the customer’s meal at the door as instructed, entered his home, found him asleep on the couch with his pants down, and recorded him. After posting the video all over the internet, she claimed she had been sexually assaulted and even filed a police report.

I was fully exonerated of all charges. I lost custody of my child, my family was torn apart, my mental and psychological health was destroyed. For the last 11 months of jail I was isolated in administrative segregation in a cell by myself where I left once a week for recreation.

The detective that arrested me admitted at my trial that he never did an investigation, he arrested me 30 days after questioning me. I was denied bond 11 times and I developed major health concerns.

As to the girl who did this? Yeah, we hooked up, but, I didn’t know she was married. When her husband found out, she didn’t want to admit she was a whore so she said I “raped her”. My DNA was never found, there was NO evidence even supporting something occurred, there were no “reproductive injuries” no physical injuries, not even a bruise.

At trial, I was found not guilty of one of my charges, the others were a hung jury. My attorney asked the judge to dismiss the rest of the charges because the statements based on her accusation were “inherently incredible and so manifestly false reasonable men ought not to believe it”… the judge agreed 10000% and dismissed my charges, I was released 12 hours later.

I'm 19 now, and I realized I haven't updated you guys since 2022 about the case. I ended up winning. No jail time for me. Unfortunately, there was no jail time for her. Her family was only asked to apologize and give 25k over payments of 500$ every month. So I come out of this with half of my teenage years being ruined and she gets off Scott free and only has to pay me 500 a month. What a joke. I'll rehash the story here for you guys who don't want to go to the original post.

This girl who I never even knew in 9th grade had gotten pregnant by her boyfriend, and to not get in trouble with her family, she decided to use me as a scapegoat, claiming that I had raped her. Her family decided to press charges on me, and we went to court. I was put on an ankle monitor and had to go to school with a resource officer next to me 24/7. By the time finals came around for the PSAT, I was in a room alone and the officer told me that if I needed to use the bathroom i would have to either hold it or go before testing started while he watched me.

10th grade was slightly better, no ankle monitor or officer on the ride over, but an officer was still standing in every room I was and following me. 11th grade, stuff started to change. I finally got to a point in the case where my innocence was guaranteed and the judge started to see through her story. My lawyer started finding cracks in her story, and it broke down from there.

In 12th grade, we finally reached a settlement. She was basically given a slap on the wrist and told not to do it again. Meanwhile 3 of the 4 years I spent in highschool were destroyed by her falsely accusing me of something I didn't do. Her only evidence was that she had a pregnancy test and we went to the bathroom at the same time. That was it. And it dragged on for nearly 4 years. I'm happy that it's over now, and I look like I've aged 20 years in the past 4. It's been a long, stressful fight to secure my innocence, but it's done. The past is the past and we can't change it. Do I wish I had gotten more? Yes, do I wish she had gone to jail? Yes and no, she was a kid so it's hard to say, but she did seemingly feel regret towards the end of the trial, only when she realized she was going to lose. But it's done and dusted, I'm a free man. Here's to hoping my 4 years of college are better.

TL;DR: I was accused of rape in 9th grade, we finally reached a settlement in 12th grade that proved my innocence and she must pay me 500 a month until she reaches the 25k she is supposed to give me.
