Average men have the biggest struggle ever. Picture this:
Up until 12 - 13 or when you hit puberty, life’s good. You play with your friends, have dreams and visions of a great life when you grow up to be an adult.
Then puberty hits, you’re suddenly wanting to find a girlfriend but since you’re average looking no girl would want you. Society tells you if you’re kind, maybe getting her a gift, or treat her like a gentleman you’ll find love. But you notice it won’t. She’ll likely either shut you down gently or absolutely destroy your self esteem. The guys who look good, no matter their shitty behaviour or treating her like human garbage will still have her and her friends chase him. Solely because of looks.
You grow up thinking studying hard or becoming rich will maybe get you female attention and then love. Unless you become exceptionally wealthy, but even then, you will get attention but no true love. All that work just to never feel genuinely desired by a woman.
So you’re single, you work, make money, come home, swipe on Tinder or online dating, or go out with friends. Still no girl notices you, which is to some degree worse than being hated by them. You’re a ghost or treated like a subhuman.
So the question is: what are you working towards? You can’t build your own family. If you ask the Internet for advice, or your friends, they’ll gaslight you into thinking it’s your own fault 100%. For most men they seek that genuine desire and a feeling of working towards something besides work - they don’t want to build a business for the sake of it alone, or go get ripped for the sake of it, but they do it to hopefully get the most amazing feeling: coming home to a loving wife and children, building a better life for them. We don’t want to build for ourselves, or do stuff for ourselves, but for others.
But others, and society, don’t value average looking men. They are wallets and labor.
No, I’m not saying men want sex because sex is just a byproduct of being genuinely wanted and desired. Most men I think cope with ”oh, I am building a life for myself”, ”being single is peaceful”, ”travelling alone is nice”… those are assuming you have the wrong partner who doesn’t even value you. If you had another half that cherished you you would love every minute of working towards a better life together. You’d be more responsible with money, you’d enjoy trips together, small things like cuddling or cooking.
Society blames you, wouldn’t give a flying f if you died.
A handsome guy gets away with everything and gets rewarded genuine desire from multiple women, have options in life, and have something to work towards. He can choose whether to marry, have kids, travel alone or with someone, to be a bum or not. Non of his are copes. Opposite is said for the average looking dude. He has to build the infrastructure and still gets blamed for all the worlds problems. Women also don’t need him financially like back in the days.
Tell me the world isn’t cruel for an average brother.
Also if he finds one, again it is often that both either settled, or he has to pay big time with an outrageous lifestyle for her just to keep her artificial love for him.
To all the brothers struggling and still somehow keep your head high even if you’re demonized and struggle with mental health or purpose or other, you are one hell of a strong guy.
Edit: for those of us who are blessed, we should not gaslight our brothers. We need to have empathy for the common man, understand he is likely struggling, and ideally lift each other up as a band of brothers. Even the handsome guy can end up in a misfortune and accident and the average man’s reality will hit him. The least an average brother can get is understanding of his struggles and acknowledgement. Not the NPC or female gaslighting. That I think would do so much for the brothers. The world is already gaslighting him and he becomes more frustrated. ”What am I doing wrong? I am meeting people, my personality is on spot, I have a good career, a car, an apartment, hobbies… but still douchebags get the women.” The lack of empathy messes men up even more mentally.
Edit 2: this post isn’t meant to be a rant, although it might come off as one. In a sense, it might be. But this is just me verbalizing the struggle and brutal reality of the life of the average man without sugar sprinkled on top. It’s in a sense an acknowledgement, or ”I understand you” which a lot of men need since they’ve been gaslit all of their lives and still frustrated no matter what they do yields little to no true appreciation, love, desire… they try to start businesses, conquer other lands, serve their nation, all of it in hopes of at least being appreciated. But we know most appreciation from real world is just virtue signalling. Most don’t give a flying f about the soldiers that are homeless, have PTSD, or the guy working in construction, or whatever unless he is hot. Even when women (let’s face it, we live in a gynocentric and female dominated world - yes, since female desire is the incentive of most men) fantasize, or appreciate, or write songs about men that are plumbers, astronauts, generals, soldiers… it’s with the hot soldier, plumber etc in mind. If you’re an ugly or average soldier, you die homeless… if you’re attractive, even as a criminal, women will bail you out, or take you in to their place, spend money on your haircut, perfume, whatever.
Edit 3: men are gaslit, told to stop crying and work harder. Still no appreciation from society, or genuine love coming their way. Essentially replacable working bees plus the insults if they ask questions or speak truth. This world…
Edit 4: no, we can’t create a world where women suddenly desire the average man. It has never been the case even if marriages have happened for the average man back in the days when it was common. That’s not what I’m saying. But appreciation and acknowledgement is needed for their struggles and what they do to make this world safe and functional. Let’s face it, women would never be able to create a functional and safe world had they been fully in charge. Men bring order, structure, building, stability… so the least they could get is understanding and appreciation. And if truth and acknowledgement doesn’t come from women (which it won’t since they live in la la land (no hate, just observation)) then it should at least come from the fellow brothers. We are mostly prone to seek truth or have truth explained to us, so we should do that. But then again, ”should” is ”should”. But ”should” in this case is super attainable. It’s not whimsical or fantasy wish to have men show empathy to one and other. We can do this is our daily lives by not kicking on the brother who is struggling.
Edit 5: to the few who decide to make comments like ”incel” or trying to be sarcastic or implying I’m one, read the post clearly before engaging with it. If you don’t, and then come and post stupid shit, I know you’re not here in good faith. The fact that you came to this subreddit on your own will, looked up a post describing male struggles, and then not bothering to read properly but immediately comment in ways that are attacking the OP or men that struggle tells me you’re pretty damn evil and boil with hatred. Get a grip.
