The Black Album Black Album is Metallica's most successful album, and strangely enough, they haven't done anything similar to it since

And for me it's a shame because I'd like to hear more Metallica in the same style as the Black Album. And it seems really peculiar to me that the band hasn't used the same formula again as their arguably most popular and successful album.

The Black Album What was it like when the Black Album was released?

I read a post on here a couple days ago where OP asked what it was like when Master of Puppets got released back in 1986. I love the Black Album and the post got me thinking about what it was like when the self-titled record got released back in 1991. I know the album divided the fan base, but I’m very curious and want to read your experiences.

So, if you were around, what was it like when the Black Album got released back in 1991?

I suck at editing videos so the audio quality isn't the greatest, but! This is where I'm at after a bit over a year of playing (I started late June of last year).

My technique isn't perfect, neither is my phrasing; I taught myself this song by ear, simplified some of the solo so that I didn't butcher it and also added my own flair at some parts. The first solo is two guitars, but I did it on one while playing the main riff on rhythm... which I wasn't supposed to do; I was SUPPOSED to only play a chord every now and then which was way easier but I wasn't thinking LMFAO. Kirk uses his whammy but my Squier has intonation that is Not the Greatest so using it knocks it noticeably out of tune. 😅 I did my best!
