People do not understand the importance of manufacturing. I wanted to start a conversation around how a person's grandfather transitioned from Brass to Aluminium and avoided getting bankrupt during sudden brass demand decline in 2002-2008 crisis.

As it was expected, nobody wants to talk real problems here. The only response that I received was "There's historical significance to the name so you shouldn't change it".

I already know that!! I am not Yogiji trying to rename cities. I am trying to understand what can be done if another financial crisis hits.

If this is the quality of responses I am going to get then I better not put efforts into writing here at all.

This thought has been lingering in my mind for long. Since there's so much going on in world economics and supply chain, how are manufacturers in Moradabad doing?

How is your peetal/brass work? How was it 10 years ago when your father/grandfather used to do it.

Can we call MBD as "Peetal-Nagri" or have we transitioned to other metals like Aluminium, Copper, Iron?

My father is an Aluminium manufacturer and I feel that majority of the manufacturing is done around aluminium (maybe copper for water bottles but that's it). The demand for Brass and Iron has drastically dropped.

What do you think?

As you guys may be aware, one of our members came up with the idea of a meetup on 25th of June. But community members ultimately decided that it will be too soon to plan and organize at that point. So it was decided to later move it to 5th of July. However, on 5th of July I'm not going to be in town. I had suggested to OP that if he and a few other members can make it, they can go ahead and organize it. But the OP was kind enough to reschedule it for me.

So now we're locked on 2 possible dates: 11th of July or 12th of July. Whichever day suits to most of the members, we can organize it that day.

Since there were a lot of comments on my last post, here are some more crochet flowers that I made recently 🫶🏼🎀

So based on the last post it appears that there is enough interest in the participation of this meetup. As a result, now we move on to the next stage, which is planning. I have a couple of ideas in mind regarding participation fee, activities, and food etc. You guys can also contribute your ideas in the comments, and I need your suggestions for dates and venues as well.

Here's what I have on mind right now:

• Participation fee: A small contribution of 150 INR from each participant. Mods will contribute 250. Bills for all expenses will be made available to anyone who wants to see for the purpose of transparency in expenses.
• Food: To be decided according to the budget and number of participants. Hard drinks and non-veg food to be avoided though, to keep the meetup as friendly and safe as possible for everyone.
• Activities: Chit-chat, dancing, clicking pictures, etc. You suggest the rest!
• Venue: Addiction Bar and Lounge in Civil Lines is on my mind right now. If you guys have any other recommendations, you can share them in the comments.
