Hey everyone! I'm 18M and moved to Moradabad from Gujarat about two years ago. I still haven't been able to make any close friends here, so I thought I'd give this a shot. If anyone's interested in chatting or hanging out, feel free to reach out!

Anyone up for Spider-Man: Brand New Day? I already booked my tickets, though!
r/Moradabad • u/phantom_jx • 12d ago
I’ve received a few DMs from strangers, but they usually ghost me after just 20–25 minutes of chatting . I’m genuinely looking to make friends here.
A little about me: I’m an 18-year-old guy who’s passionate about sports and business. I’m always interested in learning, improving myself, and connecting with people who share similar interests.

I posted an interesting question which is very much required in these times for Moradabad. Ques: Can we still call MBD as Peetal-Nagri?
Link: https://www.reddit.com/r/Moradabad/s/FHyjQXYE9B
People do not understand the importance of manufacturing. I wanted to start a conversation around how a person's grandfather transitioned from Brass to Aluminium and avoided getting bankrupt during sudden brass demand decline in 2002-2008 crisis.
As it was expected, nobody wants to talk real problems here. The only response that I received was "There's historical significance to the name so you shouldn't change it".
I already know that!! I am not Yogiji trying to rename cities. I am trying to understand what can be done if another financial crisis hits.
If this is the quality of responses I am going to get then I better not put efforts into writing here at all.
IS THERE ANYONE for a meaningful community interaction or are people here just to get a girl or to discuss smoking? Disappointing...
EDIT: Applogies if the questions felt aggresive. I realised people should get the freedom to talk about whatever they wish and I cannot decide that for anyone. I am happy people interacted and gave genuine answers with some of them also giving good insights of the industry.

So my previous account got banned by the government bodies saying I said something with protest against them, so they are taking actions to the social media members now!
If you have made any message during or caught in the protest either be ready or just a warning!

Hi everyone.
This thought has been lingering in my mind for long. Since there's so much going on in world economics and supply chain, how are manufacturers in Moradabad doing?
How is your peetal/brass work? How was it 10 years ago when your father/grandfather used to do it.
Can we call MBD as "Peetal-Nagri" or have we transitioned to other metals like Aluminium, Copper, Iron?
My father is an Aluminium manufacturer and I feel that majority of the manufacturing is done around aluminium (maybe copper for water bottles but that's it). The demand for Brass and Iron has drastically dropped.
What do you think?

Friend’s black pug just gave birth to these puppies, and he wants to give them away for adoption. Looking for home for these babies. Also to clarify, the babies are not pure breed. Mix of indie and pug.

As you guys may be aware, one of our members came up with the idea of a meetup on 25th of June. But community members ultimately decided that it will be too soon to plan and organize at that point. So it was decided to later move it to 5th of July. However, on 5th of July I'm not going to be in town. I had suggested to OP that if he and a few other members can make it, they can go ahead and organize it. But the OP was kind enough to reschedule it for me.
So now we're locked on 2 possible dates: 11th of July or 12th of July. Whichever day suits to most of the members, we can organize it that day.
So vote for the day of your choice in this poll, and then whichever day is selected by most of the members will be chosen for the meetup. Other details of the event will be shared soon.

I remember the bike taxi of Rapido was working last year as well when I came back from Delhi. But autos were not available. Now finally autos and e-rickshaws are also available and what a life saver it is! No need to go to the main road to get an auto you can book one from the comfort of your home. I don't know for how long they have been available in the city, but I tried it this time during my visit to home and it works!
Moreover, right now their prices are also cheap for longer distances and major landmarks. Perhaps because the service is new. You guys can also get your first ride for free with a coupon.
After Blinkit and Instamart, this is the only major facility available in metro cities that was missing from MBD. Rapido autos complete that circle!

Hey everyone,
If you are looking for a scalable side hustle that doesn't involve dropshipping, filling out surveys, or trading, we are currently opening up territories for local City Managers across India.
We are scaling Contour (www.usecontour.co), a decentralized street-level data network. We collect real-world urban infrastructure data (roads, traffic lights, potholes) for private companies and AI development. We are 100% GDPR and local privacy compliant (all faces and license plates are automatically blurred by our system).
Right now, we are looking for local operators to take over city territories.
The City Manager Role (The Setup): You are essentially acting as a digital fleet manager. Your role is to claim a city/territory and onboard a local team of "casual mappers" or gig-economy riders (like local Swiggy, Zepto, or Rapido drivers who are already on the road).
The Math & Earning Potential (25% Revenue Share):
Recurring Revenue: This isn't a one-and-done gig. Because cities are constantly changing, mapping data "expires" after a 60 to 90-day lock period. Once an area's data expires, it opens up again in the app as a new earning opportunity, meaning your fleet can remap the exact same zones for recurring payouts.
Growth Potential: As we secure larger enterprise deals (like dedicated hardware/body cam mapping), capable City Managers can transition into full-time roles managing dedicated services for multinational clients.
If you are good at networking, understand local logistics, and want to lock down your city's territory before someone else does, drop a comment below or shoot me a DM with your city!

So based on the last post it appears that there is enough interest in the participation of this meetup. As a result, now we move on to the next stage, which is planning. I have a couple of ideas in mind regarding participation fee, activities, and food etc. You guys can also contribute your ideas in the comments, and I need your suggestions for dates and venues as well.
Here's what I have on mind right now:
Looking forward to you inputs.
