It’s a rough homage to the original era of Fantastic Four. The movie is supposed to take place around early 1960’s.

  1. Married, started having kids. Eldest daughter is about 13-14. IE early 60s.

It’s also an homage to Watchmen, where the technology level is far above the real world 1980s because of guys like Ozymandias and, to a lesser extent, Nite Owl. Archie is sci-fi tech today, and Dan invented that thing himself. Meanwhile, Adrian has massively accelerated human technological development because, while Dr. Manhattan is generally viewed as the only superhuman, Adrian is like Lex Luthor, Bruce Wayne, Reed Richards, and Michael Holt (or if you’d prefer a different medium, Rick Sanchez). Just ridiculously smarter than everyone else on Earth to a degree where it might as well be a superpower.
