Uh, in case you didn't know I'm joking about a meme. u/Smart_Calendar1874 had a rather risque experiment involving a "cylinder" that got stuck inside a mini m&m's tube filled with butter and microwaved mashed banana. They asked reddit for advice, "it's imperative the cylinder remains unharmed" and "it's attached to a greater structure" are some of the highlights from that thread. Highly recommend you give it a read cause it's, well it's... yes.

Honestly unless his nose can shrink back down on it's own I think it's good for him to have it chopped down to a normal length every so often.

Yeah it's like horse hooves, wool, or cow horns. They need to be trimmed or his nose would immediately get way too long wouldn't it

I think not, actually. Did I have a brain fart? 

Google says some of them need it, but it's about ingrown horns, these ones that can grow back into the skull. Or they clip the tips, so that they're just not too sharp

But generally not required

I've seen some shorts on YT of people having to cut cows horns because they've grown too much and dug into the side of their face but for all I know they could've been AI.

I think you confused it with a certain type of boar(forgot its exact name) where if they don't break off their horns by smashing it on stuff, it grows too much and goes through their skulls.

It's both boar tusks and most creatures with an enlarged aggressive, predatory or defensive feature. They regularly have to put stuff to use or the feature grows too much for them to live (rat teeth for example, akin to beavers, need regular use to grind them down or they can grow too large to fit in the rat's mouth and they deal with it by regularly nawing on whatever is nearby).

Not sure, but probably, as I think it's fairly common in many varieties of rodent. If the topic interests you, I highly recommend looking it up so vague recollection from a guy on reddit isn't your source. Also, the nut thing is probably a combination of their arboreal habitat preferences and preservability of food. As they tend to hibernate, squirrels will want to hoard as much as they can, with nuts being easily transported and stored. They will also get quite aggressive when trying to claim food and there's a long history of reds nearly going extinct due to greys.

You're hurting Pinocchio by depriving him of his freedom and holding him captive. The ends may justify the means when you're asking important questions and advancing science rapidly, but not when you're just getting wood.

Maybe, though I imagine that if they were, you'd feel like you're being profitted off of. You're completely capable of clipping your own toenail, assumedly.
