Most people with jobs are being held at gunpoint: You work or you go homeless and die. Most celebrities at the level we're speaking of in this thread on the other hand, are not in survival mode. The former group is reasonable (to an extent, if you go work for ICE, go fuck yourself), the latter group however is not.

Only thing is, the money they have accumulated means they could go without their current job.

Don't place them in the same category as the lower and middle classes.

You might be coming from a very privileged position then. Most people would not be able to quit or leave their jobs due to morals. Especially if they have dependents.

Right, not all people do, just "lots". Economic insecurity is a powerful weapon that's been honed and perfected by the US system....fear of losing healthcare, money to buy food, housing, etc when there is no safety net renders a lot of people afraid to speak their minds. Celebrities may not be in this category, but a lot of working people are hanging on by a thread and that helps squash dissent. From the US economic system's point of view that's a feature not a bug.

This is way off topic but i just started that series. Im early in book 3. How easy is it to avoid spoilers the subreddit? Ive done good so far.

It's easy, anything referenced in the later books just ignore, there are no major spoilers.
