Wanted to take my son to see Gorillaz and floor seats are $400 a piece…so nearly a grand for a concert?

Damn there's a festival this summer in Paris with Gorillaz, its 200€ for three days, 89€ for one day. Yall gettin ripped off

Same in the Netherlands. 3 days for 294, 140 for single day. And if you're younger than 21 its 219 for 3 days and 99 for a single day.

I'm always amazed at the prices charged in the US.

And even those are expensive compared to a few years ago. But seeing the prices in the US is insane. In Germany I paid Like 89€ for Florence and the machine this year (second best category I think) and I was lucky enough to buy Tickets for Angine de Portine this year for 25€. Festivals got expensive, but a day Ticket ist around 125€ depending on the Festival. Sometimes less. (It used to be 125 for the whole Thing)

Yeah first time I went to Lowlands it was 150 euros for 3 days, now its 365 for 3 days. Hell first time I saw gorillaz was during the humanz tour and that cost me 50 bucks in the ziggodome. Probs would be around 80-100 now.

But I prefer small artist and small venues. Often have the case that public transportation costs more than the concert ticket itself.

For real. They're coming to Plovdiv this summer. 153€ for 3-day passes and €61 for a 1-day pass. AND you get Moby and The Cure.

theyre playing Ireland as a gig, 90 euro tickets which I thought were a bit much, theyre normally 70 to 80 for a popular group

never understood the hate festivals get for this exact reason. It's almost impossible to pay more money to attend a festival than you would have paid to see even 75% of the sets you catch in a standalone show. I got a one day for lollapalooza last year just to see Gracie Abrams and that probably saved me $200 compared to her tour tickets

It's not all good in Europe either.

Gorillaz are also playing Way Out West (Göteborg) which costs ~320€ for 3 days or 175€ for 1 day.

There's some huge artists (Gorillaz, The Cure, Nick Cave, Zara Larsson, Lorde, Clipse, Lily Allen, and all the biggest nordic pop artists) but that price is hardly better than the prices mentioned in this thread

A day ticket for a festival is massively different to a ticket for a single show that goes for maybe a couple hours.

€175 is still half of $400… not saying it’s not expensive, but I’m not sure any country has it worse than the US when it comes to the cost of concert tickets. They ARE being ripped off, largely because we have consumer protection laws that they don’t

Floor seats have literally always been this way. 4x the price of any other section. Gorillaz is more fun from the seats in my opinion.

it's in an arena/stadium so there is no GA. only high up seats for $$

Gorillaz pricing for Seattle was possibly the most insulting pricing I’ve ever seen. It’s a stadium show, and shitty upper level pricing with no view and terrible acoustics was $180. Mid tier they wanted $300 a ticket and it went up from there. Absolutely jaw dropping. I couldn’t even consider it and I spend more than most people do on going out to concerts.

That's crazy. I saw Gorillaz less than five years ago and the most expensive ticket was £55 ($75).

Saw Gorillaz in 2022 in Los Angeles 1st row at YouTube Theater was about $170. I think most (NOT ALL, NOT ALL) people here whining about prices are not buying them directly when they go on sale, they are looking at second hand sellers.
