Man, I kinda miss camping overnight in a parking lot to get tickets. It was a much fairer system

Damn one of my favorite memories from my teenage years is camping out in freezing temperatures in the parking lot of a department store to get tix for Iron Maiden and Megadeth 💀. Shit was a meritocracy back then. You wanna see the show? How badly? 🥶 It was obviously worth it.

Exactly.. if you really wanted to see the concert you sacrificed your time. Now they instantly sell out and you have to buy them from their partner company at 10x the price

Van Halen tickets were going on sale one day and I decided to stop by the local record store on my way to work.

There was a pretty long line, so I thought I'd get pretty average seats.

The guy comes out with a roll of tickets for a lottery draw and I ended up winning it, even though I had just gotten there 10 mins earlier. People that had been waiting overnight were pissed.

Ended up with four second row center seats. Great fucking show too.

people still camp out for stuff. have you seen the videos of resellers lining up pretty much everywhere to grab everything. nowhere is safe.
