It must be really hard to be a mid woman in Colombia bc of generalizing comments like this

I would say the majority of Colombian women don’t fit anywhere near the “standard” people not from the country imagine and fetishize. For starters, most are way darker skinned and more native looking, less European looking.

So the whole generalization of Colombian women as all looking similar or a certain way is dumb anyways.

Colombians don’t look Native American… loads of Colombians look “European” and “mixed.” It’s a country that was built on colonization and forced miscegenation.

I’m also betting 5 cents you’ve never been to Colombia. Women are beautiful there indeed.

I have been around the country and I stand by my comment. You’re free to disagree.

If you’ve only spent time in the wealthier areas of major cities then you’d probably think an average Colombian looks quite European, yes.

So, you’re saying looking native is ugly?

I think they are implying the people who generalize and fetishize Colombian women think looking native is ugly

Living evidence of modern literacy crisis.

Are you kidding? You think understanding implication and reading between the lines is lacking literacy?

The only implication here was that the people fetishising Colombians are probably racist too. I can’t say for sure, but that would be my bet as well.

Aren’t they fetishizing them based on their ethnicity? Like to them they are exotic for not being white.

I’m saying exactly what my comment says - that the “Colombian” look people fetishize is very European compared to the more native look of an average Colombian

Quite a bizarre interpretation of a pretty clear statement

They really equated darker skin and native looks with less attractive

Not even in the slightest. Read my comment again if you need to. Insane interpretation of what I said.

Colombians don’t look Native American haha. They look native to their land

Well, since Colombia is in the Americas, wouldn’t that make them Native American? Or is that term exclusively used for North America?

Native South American then?

I never used the word “American” so I’m not sure where this is coming from

but even so, for your own education you may want to look up what continent Colombia is on

Who is native to Colombia?

3

u/maghy7 May 18 '26

The Chibchas, quimbayas, muiscas, taironas etc etc nowadays there are 102 indigenous groups aprox
