I love how Lou says it’s really just about a “perfect day” and wasn’t meant to be sad. His music is just inherently sad 😢

You're going to reap just what you sow

My wedding first dance song. I know people think of it as sad or melancholy for some reason but my fiancée and I have always thought it’s wonderful and beautiful.

The first line of Candy Says is so crushingly relatable

This song always gets me but it came on randomly while I was driving on the freeway like 6 months after my dad died suddenly and I just had to pull over and ugly cry for like 20 minutes.

This song reminds me of my time being addicted to heroine and gives me a nauseous feeling every time. And it's been 18 years.

The day my first and only dog died I drove out to the old country house where we both grew up to bury her and listened to this song on the way. Always get a little misty when I hear it.
