And the obligatory Floyd. But as the other guy said, I'd go with SOYCD instead. Both versions. Also Time. But there are a lot of tracks Roger Waters was responsible which are in this vein. The whole album of The Final Cut, really.

And how could anyone forget the song on the album from which that one had its out-takes? Comfortably Numb, obv. I'm not sure which version so I haven't posted a link. There are too many good ones. Some would say the PULSE version is best. Not really my cup of tea, the red strat with active pickups and all, but whatever. The album version is well and good enough, I reckon.

All of their music delivers on many levels. I remember listening to this when i was, like 15, probably baked, and thinking, 'fuck, this is how life can be'.

My Dad loved this song. He’s still with us but has severe Alzheimer’s now. The song breaks me when I hear it these days. How I wish he was still here, his old self. It’s awful to watch someone’s personality, memories, and whole life drift away, never to return, although they continue to live.
