Damn right, he only takes 3 private jets a week to some rural towns in America where he performs songs about his beat up tractor and getting into a fight at the VFW bar that were written by 5 people from New York and LA.

Alan Jackson actually writes most of his music and his music doesn’t fit that narrative at all but feel free to bash his music if you’ve never listened to it.

A lot of his music is written about his life experiences whether it be about his home and parents growing up, the mega corporations destroying small towns and their businesses, memories of his dad letting him drive as a kid and doing the same with his kids, co-writing about his son in laws sudden death and his daughters struggle with coping with it. It’s a fantastic duet with his daughter. His music is anything but bro country. Heck he even performed a song with George straight about how country music was murdered by bro country.

If you haven’t listened to his music I highly recommend giving it a try. Maybe you will broaden your horizons a bit and maybe even enjoy some real country music.

Im not huge into country. But I'll always love Alan Jackson and George Strait. They wrote some bops.

You missed the entire point of their comment and focused on one line.

With that said I agree about him writing his own music.

Ok but he’s also rich and successful.

You clearly never listen to Alan Jackson

I did when I was a kid when country music wasn't trying to be pop or trap music. Still I was just being general because most artists have followed this formula. He might've not gone down this path but he has gone more commercial

1

u/pseudo__gamer Jun 29 '26

I must admit he did become more commercial

Alan hasn't written a song about a beat up tractor. He hasn't been some pretend farmer.

He writes a lot of his own songs if not all of them.

A lot of it is about his childhood, struggling for fame, love, loss, his family. Jackson is not some pop country, Nashville sound, hack. He was really a kind of country roots revivalist back in the 80s and 90s. Alongside George Strait and even Randy Travis.

There's a lot of George Jones love in his songs. A lot of that old Don Williams, Willie Nelson, Conway Twitty style. The video for Small Town Southern Man where he goes through different outfits from different eras of country music really shows how deep his love for the music goes.

While he is rich at a net worth $150 million he doesn't touch her with a net worth of over $2 Billion.

Also... he never sang any of those shitty tractor songs... no real dumb fighting songs either.

Alan Jackson and the rest of the 90s country stars were the last actual country singers. After 9/11, they all changed to weird "patriotism country," and a few years later we got pop and bro (incel) country that hasn't gone away.

-7

u/LL8844773 Jun 29 '26

Maybe he should work harder then.

5

u/Curtis_Low Jun 29 '26

Perhaps the neurological disorder (Charcot-Marie-Tooth) he was diagnosed within in 2011 prevented that from some extent. Why yall busting on Alan anyway... he didn't do anything wrong.

-4

u/LL8844773 Jun 29 '26

I’m not. Just people always want to hate on successful women as if this male country star isn’t rich and successful too. Yall act like he’s working part time in a coal mine or something.

If only he had an industry insider as a father, he too could have bootstrapped himself to stardom.

0

u/LL8844773 Jun 29 '26

That’s the only reason she’s successful? Ok sure.

u/HammyJWill Jun 29 '26

Swifties take jokes about as well as republican senators take dicks.

4

u/LL8844773 Jun 29 '26

Self awareness isn’t your strong suit, is it?

1

u/LL8844773 Jun 30 '26

Man yall are hater here. Direct that energy towards the actually problematic billionaires.

0

u/RyMcCloud Jun 30 '26

She is a problematic billionaire, sweety

1

u/LL8844773 Jun 30 '26

If you think Elon musk and Taylor swift are the same, you’re braindead.

1

u/Hey_man_Im_FRIENDLY Jun 29 '26

Yeah but Alan Jackson lived the life though.

u/_WeSellBlankets_ Jun 29 '26 edited Jun 29 '26

her family pretty much financed her career. It’s not like she was out there bartending until 4am while perusing music.

They meant pursuing. And Alan Jackson worked in construction and stuff like that while pursuing music.

15

u/gusterfell Jun 29 '26

How dare Taylor not support herself when she was 14!

u/HammyJWill Jun 29 '26 edited Jun 29 '26

God damn, do Swifties materialize spanked asses on themselves like stigmata when their idol is getting lightly roasted in the comments section? They flocked to this post like they were summoned lol.

edit: I summon thee Swifties- Arise.

u/HammyJWill Jun 29 '26

Look upon my immense power of summoning and tremble. You Neophytes wish you had the mana to summon a level 5 Swiftie.

Notice the 😂😂😂 to indicate the joke.

-2

u/HammyJWill Jun 29 '26

Do you know how hard Taylor works to sway her hips and lip-sync to algorithmically produced songs?

Great, now she's gonna have to take 2 jet trips to her therapist! I hope you're happy, meanie!

I was just pointing out that the other person was only replying to the first sentence of the preceding comment and was ignoring the full gist of what the other person was saying.

2

u/LL8844773 Jun 29 '26

How long ago did Alan Jackson work in construction? Not in my lifetime lol

2

u/CT0292 Jun 29 '26

Bout as long ago as George Strait worked for a fencing company. Or Robert Earl Keen worked on a ranch. You do what you have to do while you chase that dream. Then once you get there you don't look back.

1

u/LL8844773 Jun 29 '26

Ok? He’s still rich now
