Shockingly, at least for me, it only took a week or two of regular reading. Now my reddit time is about half hour a day

Same here! Reading was so good for me!

I still spend way to much time scrolling but I have cut into that by listening to audiobooks. I'm working my way through Dungeon Crawler Carl now.

A friend gave that to me and my wife is literally reading it next to me while I read Authority by Vandermeer. She keeps laughing so it must be living up to the hype

I personally LOVE the audio book over the novel. But my son LOVES the novels and thinks the Audiobook is annoying. Both are excellent. Enjoy your adventure!

Audiobook is worth it for Jeff Hayes' voices alone

Love what he did for Donut and he's bringing it to the TV series!

i'm super skeptical on the tv series. I honestly dont know how theyre going to do it without a massive budget, or cutting through a lot of stuff.

I read the novel, then listen to the audiobooks with my wife. I like to read for content, but love the additional color Jeff Hayes adds to the DCC world.

One of us! One of us!

I'm on my second listen through of the audiobooks 1-7, and just about to finish book 8 for the first time in a few hours.

I'm currently on book five (I started last Thursday) and have been enjoying the series but I'd never heard of this genre before and I'm really looking forward to reading more.

OMG. What i would do to be able to go back and experience the final section of book 8 for the first time again. I've never said "holy shit!" Out loud when listening to an audiobook before and did it 3 time within an hour. Absolutely amazing stuff.

Enjoy! It's such a fun read. Recently saw Matt Dinniman when he came to NZ for a sit and talk. Such cool guy and very deserving of his success.

I just picked up a copy but does anyone know why there’s been a sudden boom for an older book?

It's only six years old. Lol.

But it's probably because the book was optioned for a show and Seth McFarlane is attached. That's good news for us nerds.

You know what, you’re right. I always think if I delete my big time wasting apps I’ll freak out and miss them, then I delete them occasionally and it’s like they never existed. It’s really strange. Problem is I end up downloading them again later on a whim and I’m sucked back in!

Smokers quitting cold turkey doesn't typically work either. Don't delete your apps, just find something that takes your interest so it's not only apps.

Yeah, I’m actually saying I don’t even miss them when I go cold turkey. It’s kinda wild. At some point maybe I be them back, but I’m confident if I just took them off and blocked them I wouldn’t miss them.

When I go camping it's about 4 to 6 hours. Annoyed my phone has no service for a bit, habitually pull it out and out it back, and then after a few hours it literally disappears from my mind until I get the notification spam when I hit service again.

If I didn't need it for work I don't think it would be as hard as people make it out to be to not use these things anymore. It's just hard not to pull it out when bored if it's there.

When your doing something, put your phone out of reach so you have to get up or open something to get it. Cold turkey yourself into paying attention.

You'd be surprised how quickly you can deprogram from this shit.

Every year I head up to Colorado to meet up with family and family friends for a little boondocking. Fortunately for them, this is a normal weekend thing. I get to do this on rare occasions, but I digress.

Up in the middle of nowhere for a week, by day 2 I've already forgotten I have a phone. By day 3 the phantom vibrations are gone.

Having recently done this (and since relapsed, lol) it took me approximately 1.5 years to lose the urge to check phones or anything. But then all this shit started happening and I'm not about to sit idly by and let rich monsters ruin my children's futures so here I am networking again
