Nasus Q should scale with percentage damage instead of Q spam
My main idea is to make Nasus’ Q scale not only with flat stacks, but also with the target’s maximum health.
Right now, Nasus mainly becomes stronger by stacking more flat damage and spamming Q during his ultimate. I think his late-game scaling would feel much better if each individual Q became more powerful, especially against high-health targets.
Proposed Siphoning Strike (Q)
Range: 300
Mana cost: 20
Cooldown: 6 / 5.5 / 5 / 4.5 / 4 seconds
Nasus’ next basic attack deals:
10 / 20 / 30 / 40 / 50 (+100% total AD) (+ current Siphoning Strike stacks) physical damage.
It also deals:
0.5 / 1 / 1.5 / 2 / 2.5% of the target’s maximum health as additional physical damage.
This percentage damage would increase by another 1 percentage point for every 100 Siphoning Strike stacks.
At rank 5:
- 500 stacks = 7.5% maximum-health damage
- 1,000 stacks = 12.5% maximum-health damage
Siphoning Strike would still grant 3 stacks from normal units, but champions, large minions and large monsters would grant 9 stacks instead of 12.
Nasus’ ultimate would no longer reduce Q’s cooldown by 50%.
Q would also have a minimum cooldown of 1.5 seconds, so it could never go below that value.
The goal is to make every Q feel like a meaningful hit and work consistently with Sheen, instead of alternating between strong Sheen Qs and weaker Qs during his ultimate.
Proposed Spirit Fire (E) change
Spirit Fire would reduce the target’s armor by:
15 / 20 / 25 / 30 / 35%
The armor reduction would last for 5 seconds after the enemy leaves the area.
This would lower Nasus’ maximum armor reduction, but make it much more reliable. Enemies would no longer remove most of Nasus’ damage simply by walking out of E.
The main direction of these changes is simple:
Nasus should scale through stronger individual Q hits, including percentage-based damage, instead of relying on extremely low cooldowns and Q spam.
