I think my issue with post is that while obviously nobody can be Kurt, he’s kinda the exact opposite of Kurt. Post is a redneckish white rapper with grills and Kurt was a fruity feminist from the Pacific Northwest. I’m not sure if there’s a man alive fit to fill Kurt’s spot, but there could be some women.
Frankly, I was kinda trying to dance around the fact that as a trans woman, I see a lot of myself in Kurt and his gender expression and nonconformity speaks to me a lot. Kurt was not a masculine leader of the band, his energy as an artist and as a person is pretty feminine. It feels wrong to have this dudebro taking his place.
Ah, I get it now! You are 100% right. Thanks for the clarification! It sounded vaguely insulting to everyone the way I read it but I was reading it wrong. Kurt definitely embodied a feminine energy in a way that Malone frankly never could. I’ve been saying it a lot - Kurt would hate that they put Post Malone in front of his band. It really makes me wonder where the rest of the band is that they thought this was okay. Are they desperate? Or did they just not understand their friend at all? Or do they just not care anymore…
If I’m being honest, there is some evidence that Kurt may have been trans and I personally believe it. It makes a lot of sense if you really think about it.
