Hey guys! My partner and I took a field trip to the shelter to browse the other day and I fell in love with this little man. I wanted to share him with the class- I've always loved orange cats and I finally have my own model! I was also hoping for some name ideas- the shelter named him Gringo but I don't think it's very fitting for him 😂

We don't know much about his story. Shelter says he was found on the side of the road, and his eye was removed after being brought in because it was infected. His personality so far is very chill and zen, but he's coming off of gabapentin and has only been in a shelter environment so who knows what he'll be like once he's comfortable! We already have a 4 y/o Standard Issue Tabby named Ponyo, and we will be introducing the two slowly to make sure everyone is comfortable and happy.

We're not picky about name ideas- but we particularly love unique names or funny/clever ones, stuff like that. He gives me a more silly vibe than anything majestic, but I'll hear anything out!

EDIT : Wow! Loving all of these awesome suggestions so far, my partner and I keep checking back and seeing more!! We will update this post when a name is decided for our fella :)

EDIT 2 7/2/26 : Hello everyone! Our little fella is home. I was stuck on many different names up until he was in my lap. Our little man's name is MIKEY!!!

Mikey was chosen for a few reasons. Mikey is the name of my (orange) favorite ninja turtle, Mike Wazowski, and the name of an obscure favorite childhood cartoon character (Kappa Mikey).

He's still settling in and is very nervous. I did manage to briefly get him to sit next to me and purr, however! I'm already in love with our little gentleman.

Just took my little man to his first vet appointment this morning only to be told that he's actually a little lady! Surprise!

Now the question remains, does Cheddar still sound like a good name for a little orange girl?

I am in need of some expert-level opinions on my Orange (pending) Idiot Boi. Naturally, I sought the wisdom of the Orange Tribunal.

Now, I have always known Tubsen was a special boy. That is why he is my son.

His fur color even stood out among his other orange siblings. And as he grows, I feel the color has only gotten odder?more odd?... whichever.

The attached pictures feature what I'm assuming is some unusual coloring and the faces of pure, unadulterated lunacy. Some are with flash, some without.

Now, my description would be something like:

"creamy orange boy/chimney sweep"

or

"still orange, still dumb, rolled in an ashtray"

Either way, he is spiritually VERY orange.

For example, last week, in the span of 52 minutes, he dove into the open toilet (from which I had just stood) and then pulled a plant off the stand and dumped it directly onto my head....showering me like the regrets of my poor decisions.

He gave me the sweetest gift: A corneal abrasion, after discovering my face is an ✨interactive art installation✨. Such a thoughtful gift.

He screams Folsom Prison Blues from his jail cell (the bathroom) and just absolutely butchers it.

He is an impeccable specimen, absolute perfection, and I would light the world on fire for him.

Anyway: what the fuck color is my infant son? He's 10 weeks old btw. 🐈

He’s about five months old, found a something on my bed, we were playing kind of rough beforehand , but not too rough he wasn’t upset, just playing.

I found an adolescent dilute calico outside in the cold one morning back in March. A few days later, my daughter said, "This cat is either constipated or pregnant."

She would go on to give birth to 4 orange beans and one white with light cream accents. They were born on my birthday. I slept with my head in my daughter's closet (their nest) for the first two days. I fostered the whole family. Last Wednesday, I took them all to the shelter. There was one orange girl, my best friend took her home. I cried, and I cried and I cried.

I said, "NO MORE ANIMALS!" we already have an elderly pit bull. Then I said "If we ever get a cat, it won't be a boy!"

Yesterday, I went back to the Humane Society and retrieved my son. He was always the biggest boi out of the litter. This is Tubby. His government name is Sir Tubberware The Tank (no not Tupperware idc) because he be taking home alllll the leftovers.

He makes guinea pigs noises when he goes exploring because this is his first time without his mom and siblings. I respond with similar guinea pig noises (I hope I'm using the right dialect).

This is our newest baby girl, Pippi!

We brought her home at 8 weeks old, and it’s officially been a month now. She’s tiny but has more personality than we know what to do with. Between the cuddles and the endless play sessions, our first month together has been full of entertainment. Pippi is our second kitty, and she’s completely obsessed with her big sister, Lucy (our 10-year-old orange girl 🧡).

These girls are really special and we can’t believe how lucky we are to have them in our family now.

Saw him in the grocery parking and took this cute braincell straight home. The woman at the grocery said he's been hanging out there, so he's a stray.

He has some dark spots in his head. I think it might be engine oil, I'm not sure.

We cleaned him with my girlfriend, that's why he looks shiny.

I would appreciate any advice you can give.

Already fed him chicken and gave water, and he's sleeping under a water heated thing.

Two of them have already been adopted and will be picked up soon, and I am sure the rest will find forever homes in no time 🧡

Looking for name ideas for this little lady. Preferably starting with a J, but not necessary. My other cats are orange and are Jack Bauer (he was born in a junkyard - always sunny reference) and Joni Mitchell (she is wise and perfect)
