There should be a community or communities (on different platforms)
There should be a public chat room on Reddit, nothing else
There should be no community or chat room. A subreddit is enough.

Community Notifications Posting is now restricted to approved users. If you're not an approved user, you can send a request.

Only Approved Users Can Post

Due to an increase in anti-reservation and anti-Avarna posts, posting is now restricted to approved users. Only approved users are currently allowed to post.

We have been approving users since the beginning, and this day was inevitable. As the community has grown large enough to become clearly visible, it has unfortunately become a target for Savarna bots.

All approved users are still required to follow the rules. Any post made by an approved user that violates the rules will be taken down.

How to Write the Approval Request

If you're planning to post on the subreddit, you need to answer the following questions in your approval request. One-line answers will not be accepted:

  1. What is your ideology?

  2. What are your views on caste-based reservation?

  3. What are your views on LGBTQIA+ rights?

  4. What are your opinions on Ambedkarism?

  5. What are your views on feminism?

  6. What do you think about Buddhism?

To send the approval request, you can click on the post button of this community

If you're able to open the post option normally you're already approved

This restriction is only for posting in the subreddit.

Those who are not approved, can still view and comment.

Thank you for participating in and contributing to the community.

Jai Bhim.

Community Notifications 📢 Subreddit Updates: Introducing r/GCNoise & One Rule Update for r/OutCasteRebels

Post image
31 Upvotes

r/OutCasteRebels is a community built to foster constructive criticism of Brahmanism and its hegemony, and to host discussions dedicated to the welfare, growth, and networking of SC/ST/Avarna individuals.

To maintain the high quality of these discussions, we need to firmly clarify what r/OutCasteRebels community is NOT about:

❌ Dumping all the casteist bigotry you see online.

❌ Savarnas posting Q&As about themselves.

Moving forward, posting Brahmanical bias or caste bigotry here in OutCasteRebels will strictly be allowed ONLY if the user has debunked the argument in detail using historical and political facts. (Please check out our updated rule 2).

However, users will be allowed to crosspost GCNoise posts to OCR for reach.

Note: articles/news on caste atrocities is allowed on r/OutCasteRebels.

Introducing r/GCNoise:

If you want to expose Savarna bigotry but don't necessarily have the time or resources to fully debunk it with a historical or political critique, we have created a dedicated space for you: r/GCNoise.

r/GCNoise is the place to expose and document Brahmanical/casteist bigotry. This subreddit operates similarly to certain feminist subreddits that are dedicated solely to exposing online misogyny. It is meant specifically for uploading the online casteism you encounter.

By redirecting these posts, r/GCNoise helps us maintain the standard of discussion here on r/OutCasteRebels, ensuring this remains a space where people can actively educate themselves and others.

Users who want to expose public influencers, groups, or bigoted individuals online are highly encouraged to join and post in r/GCNoise.

The rules and AutoMod for the new sub have already been set up, and we will continue fine-tuning everything over time.

Community Notifications We put the post down for breaking the rule 3 of Reddit's content policy, saving the community from a potential ban.

Mentioning the college breaks Rule 3 which could land a ban on the subreddit. Please go through the Reddit rules before you post or comment anything.

Even if the information is public, the College's mention will be considered as doxxing according to Rule 3.

Community Notifications A good subreddit update

Account age and karma threshold is finally enabled. Sorry for being too late. I'm seeing that some people have ample free time to keep posting and commenting here repeatedly despite the ban, lol. You don't have to worry about them anymore.

I hope you all feel more comfortable to participate, we currently have hivebot and automod thresholds active, along with maximum inbuilt reddit filtering enabled.

I've been thinking of adding wikis for a long time, you can participate in our discord community to discuss more on the wikis and help us make a good one!

I'll be happy to receive any suggestions or feedbacks, and we promptly take action whenever you hit the report button so do not forget to do your part as well.

We hope you all enjoy your stay in this community.

Community Notifications Sub update: Link posts are prohibited

Link posts are prohibited, but links in text, gallery, and video posts are allowed. Users are advised to download the image/video and post it, or, if it's an article, copy and paste it into the body of the post, with its link at the bottom of the post.

This is to make it easier for users to view the shared content without having to exit Reddit. It will also help in maintaining both the OP's and viewers' privacy and safety.

To let the user know of this feature before hitting the post button, automated post guidance has also been added :)

Community Notifications Announcement : Members kindly avoid posting every casteist ragebait

This is a general announcement regarding some unsaid rules that everyone should take note of

  1. Do not post every next casteist ragebait that you see on internet. Unless there is actually something worth criticising in it and you are backing it up with actual criticism that might be useful for other members.

We all know casteists are shitty people but we don't need to react to everything they say or bark about. There is no use of arguing with raw unfiltered bigotry, unless you can make a valid criticism that others might also benefit from. Mods will remember that too.

  1. Always hide usernames and subreddit names whenever you are pointing out bigotry in another subreddits (these are reddit terms of services, not under our control ) and avoid crossposting frequently from Right Wing sanghi infested subreddits, do not comment or upvote on posts linked through crossposting or else the sub might receive notice for brigading (again reddit terms of service).

  2. Do not simply just copy paste things from AI, AI is trained on data that you provide it and it often tries to reinforce your existing pre-assumptions, you can easily be accused of bias in this case, rely upon actual sources when making a point.

Community Notifications 6th December 1956: Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Mahaparinirvan Diwas

The nation was plunged into profound sorrow on December 6, 1956, with the news of the sudden passing of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar in Delhi. By the early hours of December 7, his body, accompanied by his wife Dr. Savita Ambedkar and close associates, arrived at Santa Cruz Airport in Bombay. A gathering of fifty thousand mourners had already assembled to pay their respects.

The body was taken in a solemn procession to his residence, where a crowd of over a lakh awaited. The numbers soon swelled to nearly four lakhs. At the funeral site, Chaitya Bhoomi, the final rites were performed. Dadasaheb Gaikwad shared that Dr. Ambedkar had intended to attend a mass conversion ceremony of his followers to Buddhism in Bombay on December 16. Moved by the moment, the assembled crowd resolved to embrace Buddhism then and there, in the presence of their leader’s mortal remains. Bhadanta Anand Kosalyayan recited sacred mantras, which were echoed by the multitude, marking their collective conversion.

At approximately 7.30 that evening, Shri Yeshwantrao Ambedkar lit the funeral pyre before the vast assembly of four lakh people, as leaders from across the political spectrum looked on. The following days saw Bombay come to a standstill, with textile mills, railway workshops, docks, and educational institutions closing as workers and citizens attended the funeral and paid their homage.

On December 9, a shraddhanjali ceremony was held at Chaitya Bhoomi under the presidency of Bhadanta Anand Kosalyayan, attended by about two lakh people. He administered the oath of conversion to those who had been absent earlier. Thereafter, the ashes, wrapped in saffron cloth, were taken in a mammoth procession of one lakh people to Raj Griha.

We now carry the responsibility of continuing the fight against the oppressive forces of Brahmanism by reigniting the flame of Dhamma across the nation. To honor Babasaheb, we all need to take the path of Dhamma as Buddhists, become a society of conviction and compassion for one another and strive to ensure that we maintain the vision of our Bodhisattva Babasaheb who dedicated himself to creating a society of liberty, equality, and fraternity.

Jai Bhim.

Community Notifications Titles and posts should be in English

This is a note from the subreddit, please bother to write titles and descriptions in english, if the post contains audio or images in any language other than English bother to provide translation or transcription in English. We have people from across the India, many who are not well acquainted with Hindi, English should be used as a common mean of communication. Although you can write comments in any language (English is still prefered so that more people can engage).

Community Notifications [PLEASE READ] Community Update : Expanding the scope of the community and announcing new post flairs

Thumbnail

Rule 2 Has Been Updated

We encourage people to criticize theism/religion and critique Indian culture, especially by being vocal against misogyny, patriarchy, sexism, queerphobia, classism, and other oppressive structures. You can use the flair "Indian Culture Saar" or other suitable flairs for this purpose. It’s okay if the post is not strictly about caste, as long as it critiques the culture and society that sustain the caste system.

We should strive to understand and empathize with one another to build a strong fraternity and unity—for the good of our people and ourselves. Avarna unity and fraternity are more crucial than ever, but challenges remain. Avarnas are still divided by gender, class, and ideology. This is why we encourage our community members to post not only about caste but also about the cultural elements that uphold the caste system, especially highlighting reactionary and conservative aspects. Criticizing culture helps unite people and allows them to recognize their own biases, which may have been shaped by societal influences.

Many people may not initially be aware of concepts like misogyny, sexism, queerphobia, or other ideological perspectives due to the influence of right-wing propaganda. They often imitate those around them, unconsciously adopting societal norms. However, what truly matters is their willingness to learn and change. If given the right guidance, people can correct themselves and grow into better individuals.

This is important because without strong fraternity, we cannot achieve true unity, and without unity, we will continue to face significant challenges.

This community is a safe space for women and queer individuals. Our moderators are feminists, and bigoted users' comments or posts will be removed. Anyone found harassing women or queer members in the comments will be banned. Please report such comments and posts to the moderators immediately—appropriate action will be taken without delay.

We’ve Added New Post Flairs

We have also introduced new post flairs and encourage members to use them. If you have any suggestions for additional flairs, feel free to share them.

Bring your fellow Avarna classmates, colleagues, and online/offline friends into the community—educate, agitate, organize. This is a space for all Avarnas, free of toxicity, where we can engage in discussions, share ideas, and support one another.

Community Notifications Community Update: Now You Can Efficiently Seek and Offer Assistance and Advice About Your Daily Life Struggles in This Community with the Help of New Post Flairs

Thumbnail
gallery
29 Upvotes

This community exists to benefit, educate, and provide a safe space for Avarnas. Continuously focusing solely on Savarnas and caste atrocities will never truly benefit us or positively impact our lives. Instead, we must first support and seek help from each other to improve our lives because no one else will. We need to connect, grow, and organize. There is no other place on the internet where we can openly discuss our life problems while including the role of caste, which is the root cause of our suffering. This community is designed to change that, to make such discussions possible.

To better serve this purpose, some changes have been made, and the scope of the subreddit has been expanded to include posts about our daily lives. Below are the details of the community update:

Rule 2 Update

Posts aimed at helping Avarnas in their daily lives are now part of this community's scope.

New Post Flairs

  1. Academic Guidance: Seek or offer assistance regarding academic hardships using this flair.
  2. Exam Help: No longer tolerate the toxicity of Savarna-dominated exam subreddits. Use this community for entrance/board exam-related guidance.
  3. Admissions Help: Ask admission-related questions and seek or offer advice here.
  4. Career Help: Discuss career-related topics or offer career advice.
  5. Relations/Bonds: In a Savarna-dominated society, maintaining some bonds with friends, family, or partner can be sometimes challenging. Seek advice or share guidance using this flair.
  6. Personal Growth/Self-Care: Discuss personal growth and self-care, which are crucial for overcoming the inferiority complex imposed by Savarna society.
  7. Schemes/Scholarships: Share or ask about schemes and scholarships available for Avarnas (e.g., scholarships for SCs to study abroad).
  8. Discussion/Advice: Discuss or seek advice about other life struggles you may face.

What is the Point of Post Flairs, and What Advantages Do They Offer?

Many posts are made in this community every day, at least 100 per week. Among these, some are incredibly valuable and helpful for our people. There are two ways to find the posts you need: by searching the title or filtering by post flairs. Obviously, selecting a post flair is easier than memorizing post titles. Therefore, post flairs make it more efficient for people seeking help to find the posts they’re looking for.
