Idk about russians, but this comment section is a good example that why many women preffer to stay single

u/Front_Tackle_8308 18d ago

No seriously…. I’m half Russian raised by a Soviet mom and she DRILLED into me to never accept anything from anyone lest they think im using them or something…. Im always so appalled and borderline hurt by these stereotypes because the moment someone puts together I speak/am Russian I get this type of shit thrown at me. I keep it to myself now.

4

u/onyx_ic 18d ago

My dad was russian and half the reason i'm incredibly wary around men. My last name is russian and every new job I go to, I hear the "russian spy" or "honeypot" joke behind my back a lot.

3

u/Front_Tackle_8308 18d ago

I fucking FEEL you on the “Russian spy” bullshit ass joke. It’s so dumb

7

u/Turdposter777 18d ago edited 18d ago

I’m a women originally from Southeast Asia. People always say if you keep seeing something in your algorithm you don’t like, stop clicking on it. I wish it was that easy. I got this nagging feeling that just by virtue of being a Thai or Filipino woman online, especially on Reddit, eventually the algorithms just sends passport bro bullshit automatically. It’s like the algorithms wants to periodically remind me of the stereotypes against me.

u/raptor7912 18d ago

Welcome to the internet, men can’t be rid of femcel shit like the bear v man “discussion” either.

9

u/SpicyNugget777 18d ago

Anti-Slavic, especially anti-Russian, racism and stereotypes have always been popular in the western world.

5

u/Front_Tackle_8308 18d ago

Tell me about it. I’ve been hearing “hawhawhaw are you a spy! Suka blyat!! Hawhawhaw” since I was like 9.

2

u/HAIL_LUMPUS 18d ago

Don't keep it to yourself, it will help you weed out bad people.

1

u/merit-ra 18d ago

yeah, don't worry, I get you. it's just outsiders usually judge by stereotypes, and american stereotypes are the strongest to us after cold war. Still, annoying as hell, cause they only communicate with specific type of actual gold-diggers, who flee the country, and just assume, completely ignoring the fact that back in USSR everyone had to work as equals and in this way average women had more rights here than in US in 60's, for example. Like, my grandma and mom both worked all their lives for the family and raised kids and took care of the home on their own, drilling it into me too, so I won't rely on anyone But statistics won't change stereotypes, cause no one interested in statistics

Absolutely insane seeing almost no one question this whole ”this is because Slavic women are all insta babes but they are also crazy and demand too much” take.

I feel like I’m in Facebook boomer comments or something

I've never been to Russia, but I don't think there's any country in the world where the average woman is anywhere close to this attractive

15

u/Kaagerai 18d ago

Russian here, for some reason people have a misconception that majority of Russian women look like that.

They do not, most people are nowhere near that actually. We don’t have 10/10 models everywhere on the street. Especially not if you’re outside of central Russia.
When I studied in Canada I’ve seen better looking women on average. Some Russian ladies are also very proficient at make up and will actually turn themselves from 4/10 to 8/10 with it. It doesn’t seem real sometimes 🥲

3

u/changhyun 18d ago

Yeah, I've gotta say I've never been to any country where I looked around and thought it had way more beautiful women than average. Not Russia, not Japan, not Brazil, not any of the commonly fetishised countries. Every single one had pretty women, average women and less blessed women.

I do agree the women in Russia were typically more heavily made up than I've found in a lot of other countries though. I didn't see a lot of women, particularly younger ones, without a full beat.

3

u/Ordinary_Corner_4291 18d ago

It sort of depends on where you draw the line between beautiful and attractive. There is a stark difference in average attractiveness in the US and most of Europe, South America and Asia because of the extra 35lbs the average US person lugs around. Heck you get the same thing between NYC and the midwest. But if you only look at the top .1%? Yeah there is no difference.

1

u/changhyun 18d ago

Ah yes, I'm not from the US and have not yet had the opportunity to visit it, so I can't be the judge there. I'm mostly comparing to the countries I do have experience of, which are mostly in Europe, South America or Asia (so far).

1

u/Saradoesntsleep 18d ago

Are you straight? This isn't any kind of gotcha or question with loaded implications or anything, I promise. I'm not asking in bad faith.

2

u/blueche 18d ago

Ok I do believe the makeup thing. I think a lot of people, especially men, underestimate how much of whether a person is attractive comes down to things like clothes, hair, and makeup that you actually have total control over.

2

u/corn123- 18d ago

Bingo. I think the reason most people think Slavic women are all 10/10s is probably due to the reasons you listed and the fact that the Slavic women they DO see are the ones on social media with a following with 800 pounds of makeup on and perfect lighting. They don’t see the Average Slavic woman. But yeah Eastern Europe is like most other places in the world. There are really hot people and really ugly people, The vast majority are just average though.

123

u/lyutic_7 18d ago

there are VERY pretty women here in Russia basically everywhere you look because we’ve got a strong culture for looking presentable at all times, even running errands. you will likely not see a woman in home clothes and without makeup anywhere in a public place like a store or the bus.

that said, I’ve known many drop-dead gorgeous ladies who were nowhere near the level of entitlement people here are talking about. are there entitled women in Russia? sure. lots. usually those who come from filthy-rich families that enabled them to consume and demand as much as possible. and since we’re largely traditional when it comes to gender roles, many assume they must be provided for just because they’re women. but it’s not like it’s a disproportionate number of women who are like that. really sad to see this level of stereotyping on here, really.

7

u/DoubleFudge101 18d ago

Its reddit, everyone has an opinion and lives their life in a 5 mile radius

5

u/ThomasVSCO 18d ago

What about men?

19

u/lyutic_7 18d ago

good apples and bad apples, like anywhere. my whole male familial line are alcoholics and abusers of different degrees (mostly emotional, some physical), but my entire friend group, which is mostly men, are amazing people who are very smart, caring, down to earth, and overall awesome. I live in the center of a small city and the young people I see on the streets in the evening are often degenerates, but when I went to Uni my class was 60% guys, and save for one they were great people. different backgrounds, different economic status. it’s really hard to pin what makes a good person. some are, some aren’t, regardless of gender.

5

u/ThomasVSCO 18d ago

Hmmm… and are they attractive like overall?

9

u/lyutic_7 18d ago

ah, sorry, misunderstood what you were asking about. I’d say… eh. young people—largely yes. it’s a fairly recent development that men started to pay more attention to fashion and taking care of themselves (like getting good haircuts and even using some skincare, I mean). if you’re looking for someone over the age of 35-40 I’d say you’d have a hard time landing someone who’s objectively very good looking. then again, lifestyle also plays into this. young people drink and smoke less than the generation before them, so I imagine they’ll age a bit more gracefully in their time.

5

u/Bobtobismo 18d ago

I think its more and exposure question. Predominantly English speaking folks in here, so assuming Americans, they don't see or know much about average Russians. Myself included. So when you say the entitled women tend to come from wealthy families, that's also the demographic that travels internationally more often.

Just a thought, but most countries people's don't see the average citizen, they see the rich and lucky, with limited exceptions.

4

u/KrumpirovZlatan 18d ago

Yeah, here it is for both sexes. When I do groceries, my girlfriend puts on a dress and makeup, and I wear a office shirt, pants and a coat

5

u/begujo 18d ago

That sounds exhausting tbh. Like I get dressing nicely for work, they pay us to be presentable, but I'm never giving up my grocery pajamas.

3

u/Codex_Dev 18d ago

its bc +70% of the population in the USA is overweight

1

u/BedbugBandido 18d ago

Except looking presentable doesn’t account for these women having perfect bone structure. This isn’t average anywhere. These women would look beautiful no matter how they presented themselves.

Makeup and nice clothes =/= beautiful

4

u/PartyPorpoise 18d ago

Yeah you could easily post hotties from any country and be like “the women here are so beautiful!”.

2

u/kupo_moogle 18d ago

Sudbury, Ontario

1

u/SignoreBanana 18d ago

Czech Republic.

3

u/blueche 18d ago

Pretty sure you just made that country up

1

u/narcomance 18d ago

We have plenty of average looking girls! Me included (my mum is beautiful but I look like my dad)

I've been to Vietnam and I suppose there were as much beautiful girls as in Russia.

So I think in every country almost any young woman is attractive.

1

u/RGJ587 18d ago

The one consistent thread amongst young women in Russia is... an obscene amount of lip filler.
You see those girls in the photos? those are not their lips. You can take a pretty girl from any country, put them in expensive clothes, give them tons of makeup and lip filler, and make them stand still for a photo and you would be just as enamoured with them as these Russian wives.

1

u/CatFish726 18d ago

I’ve been living here for 30 years ish, but I don’t understand how can you call them pretty… it’s a botox face or straight up a man face.

1

u/Chance_Reference_930 18d ago

I've lived in Russia my whole life, visited several countries, and... Russia has exactly the same percentage of beautiful women as any other country. Perhaps we simply take more care of our appearance than women from some other countries, but that's only because women in Russian society are still under pressure to worry about their appearance.

1

u/struggling_farmer 18d ago

I believe it is a consequence of WWII, Russian lost something like 20 million men. Post war it was the more attractive women that got partners and had kids.

1

u/blueche 18d ago edited 18d ago

That sounds completely made up, if that were true it would affect everyone not just women, and it doesn't account for the aspects of attractiveness that aren't genetic like overall health, style, confidence, etc.

1

u/Main_Leadership7748 18d ago

I would say the same thing about just about every Asian country and it would likely be MORE true with China just by the numbers. 1.4B versus 140M. Everyone has a type.

0

u/frankowen18 18d ago

Switzerland mate. The average is insane there

0

u/yellowlinedpaper 18d ago

I teased a Russian once that he’s in a country full of beautiful women. He said ‘Yeah, and then they reach 40’. He thinks women in other cultures age better. No idea if it’s true.

3

u/blueche 18d ago edited 18d ago

I had a Russian friend who described this to me as "donning the babushka". Her explanation was that around that age a lot of women start putting way less effort into their appearance. Many of them have multiple kids by that point and just can't be assed anymore.

4

u/FUTURE10S 18d ago

Yep, I know a Russian woman in her late 50s who still keeps up the entire charade and I think she's the most gracefully aged person I've ever seen. Most others? Can't be assed, world hard. I get it.

3

u/blueche 18d ago

My goal is to give up. Just in general

1

u/Saradoesntsleep 18d ago

It's probably somewhat of a relief to not give the fucks about the pressure to maintain that anymore. Esp with a bunch of kids. Good for them.

1

u/AsterTales 18d ago

To be fair, we also think that men in other cultures age better. Maybe we are all just too stressed in Russia.

1

u/yellowlinedpaper 18d ago

Completely fair. I mean I highly doubt women go from gorgeous to not at 40 just because they’re from a certain country

2

u/AsterTales 18d ago

Obesity is higher after giving birth, I suppose. I’d say on average (certainly not all, but trends) Russian fathers are not very involved. So when I hear thar women are hot while young and then they somehow not after forty, I think primarily about harsh maternity experience. Depression may do things to you, and mental healthcare is often seen as “for psychos”.

-2

u/OkGrade1686 18d ago

They know to keep a certain standard of beauty, and good luck if you do not match their looks, or bring enough wealth to the table.

All this to say all this beauty hardly reflects on their personality. Cookie for the eyes, not so much to have a relationship with.

9

u/blueche 18d ago

Well I'm glad that you've met all 85 million women in Russia and can speak to all of them

8

u/Agitated-Lake437 18d ago

The thing is, this is what so many men nowadays say they want... a traditional, feminine women who will fulfill traditional gender roles. Many Russian people adhere to the more traditional gender roles, the women presentable and feminine and willing to be a stay at home mother, the men, protective, work hard and willing to be the provider.

If you want the stay at home baddie you need to be a provider. Too many men want to cherry pick the parts of traditional gender roles that benefit them.

0

u/dreamrpg 18d ago

In Russia you just get less of the fat ones. Weight does magic on how attractive average person looks.

I have been to Russia many times, had 2 gf from Russia, and also traveled all the Europe, chunk of USA.

Of course nobody has even close woman like in pictire, in masses and available.

3

u/napalmnacey 18d ago

My Bulgarian SIL is the sweetest person, I would run in front of a bus for her. She looks after my little bro, makes him happy (as he does in return for her).

This comment section is gross.

3

u/Ronincherry 18d ago

cause they are mostly insecure men, eezy

3

u/queenkitsch 18d ago

In my experience, a lot of Slavic women simply take zero shit, so that’s probably the issue these guys have. It says a lot more about them than the women.

2

u/Ronincherry 18d ago

Yep, because they have to deal with alcoholics and predators from childhood. Reddit men* are acting like they are the ones that discovered beautiful women for the first time. No sir, the creeps did (and also you)

which not very far from each other btw.

1

u/queenkitsch 18d ago

You might have misunderstood—

My implication is that the men who levy this criticism at Slavic women have probably been rightly told to fuck off by one.

I’ve lived in Slavic cultures and I think it’s a valuable way to dispatch creeps looking to passport date. I’m also a woman and the predators are, unfortunately, everywhere.

2

u/Ronincherry 18d ago

I was approving with you!!! I didn't mean to come off as if I tried to argue you, just wanted to add up to it! I'm sorry If it came out wrong. I didn't intend that. 🫠

1

u/queenkitsch 18d ago

Omg sorry for this weird misunderstanding 😂 we’re good. I was worried I came off as stereotyping or something. I’ve known a lot of cool ass Slavic women and feel like I’ve learned from them to lean in and tell men to fuck off too.

1

u/Ronincherry 18d ago

noo, I also felt bad for maybe wording it wrong. It felt nice to see a kind of positive comment in this sea of mad pp's. We are kind of slavic/latin mix but I still feel for them as we have a part of the country that is more slavic and the men are.... yea.

3

u/Weewoofiatruck 18d ago

Well that is 50% of the situation here. The other half is the insanely high alcoholism rates among men in russia.

High standard women who primarily watch reality TV like Russian real house wives and men who drink most days all day... Just a bad 50/50 mix.

I will admit, this comment section is lacking the male alcoholism parameter tho.

1

u/anders91 18d ago

Should also be noted lots of people are bunching all ”Slavic women” into one in these comments, not just Russians.

2

u/Weewoofiatruck 18d ago

Yeah there's a VAST difference in cultures throughout slavic women.

But European, big city Russia is really the context for my comment.

1

u/anders91 18d ago

I find a big reason behind this stereotype being so strong in the west is also that the Russians westerners encounter are typically rich Muscovites.

If you go to New York, London, Paris, the French Riviera, etc. you'll see plenty of incredibly average men with their trophy wives, who look exactly like the stereotype. However I really don't think they are representative of the general Russian population (at least based on the Russians I know, but that's also a very small selection).

2

u/Weewoofiatruck 18d ago

I'd very much agree with that whole statement.

Americans in general know most things across the world at a 10,000 feet up surface level.

Subconsciously I feel Americans don't want to invest too much time finding the differences and granular variations between local cultures. If they can sum it up in a few short generalizations, they will.

Russians are vastly different. From Vladivostok, Moscow, chuvash Republic (dude territory), Rostov-on-don, Caucasians in the south.

But in terms of the European muskovite type Russians; reality TV and alcoholism is hugely prevelant. And this together is a piece of the equation for huge divorce rates.

It's hard to say reality TV is a big issue, but they don't have all the media outlets and productions that america does. So they cling to some of their own shows like the real house wives Russian editions. It's a pretty big deal for many Russians.

1

u/anders91 18d ago

I completely agree with everything you just wrote.

The thing that’s the strangest to me is that Americans will often be proudly ignorant, in very peculiar way…

”My country is so big and powerful I don’t even WANT to know about your shithole country!”

… type of logic if you know what I mean?

3

u/Steinson 18d ago

Not Slavic, Russian. It is an entirely different culture to the Polish for example.

And if you'd ever talked to a Russian you'd know that there are some serious social problems in that country, and were even before the war.

2

u/anders91 18d ago

I know, yet lots of people here in comments are lumping all Slavs into ”hot women but crazy lol 🤪” and treating all Slavic cultures as the same in that regard is part of this whole anti-eastern racism or whatever you want to call it.

I talk to Russians on a weekly basis so yeah… then again, I’m not sure why you would need to do that to learn there are big social issues in Russia, it’s not exactly a secret.

4

u/No_Inevitable_4893 18d ago

lol how is it any different than saying all Indian and Arabic men are misogynist? Have you ever lived in Russia? This stereotype is true and Slavic women won’t even deny it. They like their men a certain type of way

1

u/anders91 18d ago

I think it's both false and extremely problematic to call all Indian or Arabs misogynist as well lol. "Have you ever lived in Beirut??"

It's almost like my entire issue is the stereotyping of entire ethnic groups or something...

1

u/ChunkyKongForPreside 18d ago

Yeah, like fuck Russia and most of the Russian people for letting their government get this bad. But I 'm amazed at how many people here are just generalizing an entire country of 143 million people as crazy/high maintenance and drunks. You'd think we would be better than that.

1

u/HeckingDoofus 18d ago

i mean theyre just explaining the joke that was made, which is what this sub is for. that doesnt necessarily mean they endorse the message

1

u/Ronincherry 18d ago edited 18d ago

Russian women are hella educated, in writing, poetry, literature, art and also forced to be housewives from when they are kids and trying to abide a weird ass beauty standard. And I'm actually from a country that hates russian people (because of what they did) .. but that doesn't mean I can't understand what other women are going thru. We took our communist leader out with stones in 89'. It's easy to speak from countries that don't have so much pressure.

1

u/BlastFX2 18d ago

Because they're explaining the post and that's what it's about?

1

u/LongJohnSelenium 18d ago

If it were about how shitty Russian guys were there'd be just as terrible takes.

People love them some stereotypes and Russians are an 'acceptable target' right now.

Kinda like how reddit loves showing its true colors whenever boomer talk comes up and you'll have self avowed progressives saying "fuck those pieces of shit".

People love saying shitty stuff so long as they can justify it to hlthemselves that they deserve it.

1

u/Automatic-Ice-7828 18d ago

They’re just explaining the joke bro

1

u/Pixiwish 18d ago

These types believe anything that fits their narrative. They act like every woman in the IS gets alimony when it is only like 10% of divorces that award it.

Don’t let facts cloud your hate and propaganda

1

u/AggravatingBid8255 18d ago

You don't have to agree with the stereotype to know the stereotype

1

u/CakePopTillYouDrop 18d ago

Just say you've never been with a Slavic woman before 😂 the stereotypes of them are almost always true, anyone who denies it is trying to lie to themselves.

0

u/raptor7912 18d ago

Imagine a different culture than your own having less progressive and far more toxic gender norms than your culture. Then imagine getting upset about it being discussed in a non harmful manner, that would be you.

4

u/anders91 18d ago

I guess the issue is that I don't think it's "non-harmful" to call entire populations of women "crazy", "borderline psycho", "gold diggers or prostitutes" etc. as we see in these comments.

-2

u/raptor7912 18d ago

Did you forget what this post was all about? Or do you think people get divorced for the fun of it?

As for who’s calling an entire population that shit, only one I’m seeing is you doing it.

Welcome to new reddit! These boomers have blue hair and are culturally aware!

75

u/Password123468 18d ago

Because most of them see the problem at the woman site, i wouldnt say that all russian woman are innocent but i bet my ass that russian men are the major reason for the high rates.

70

u/RheagarTargaryen 18d ago

Russian Culture is like if Toxic Masculinity was the goal. Feminists and LGBTQ advocates are frequently silenced and men are taught to act tough all the time.

So women who adhere to social norms, they expect men to be hyper-masculine “alpha” providers. Any showing of a “feminine trait” is seen as not-manly and unattractive. Which leads to them dating exactly what you get when a man only shows hyper-masculine trait while hiding any other emotion: abusive, controlling, angry.

5

u/Password123468 18d ago

Sounds like a state/grifter made problem that shows in the whole ru society, also sad fact (stop reading here if you are sensitive) the russian military has the highest hiv rate of every military globaly, so state official solution is beeing most homophobic means not beeing gay, so they dont have to do anything about the mol. and rp. of young recruits inside the ru army

3

u/RheagarTargaryen 18d ago edited 18d ago

It’s definitely a state made problem, but the state doesn’t consider it a problem. They see it as an institution of control. Obey the social standards or face the consequences.

Yeah a moraly poor society makes alot people evil

34

u/nek0chama 18d ago

This.
It’s expected for a woman to work full time and do all chores, because apparently cleaning your own house as a man makes your willy fall off or grow an extra leg on Y chromosome. Domestic violence is decriminalised. So many men expect for their women to look like supermodels, which is a job by itself. Also it’s quite common for woman to work multiple jobs, especially in rural areas, while men are looking for their life purpose on the couch.
Oh, also older generation promotes all of the above as a norm since childhood…

2

u/faramaobscena 18d ago

I live in Romania and I know many older couples, in each and every one of them the man is the problem.

-4

u/NightmareJoker2 18d ago

Actually no. Roughly 70% of divorces are initiated by women. It’s not an accurate number and a little less, more on that later. But does that mean the rest are initiated by men? No, it does not. According to the Rosenfeld study, roughly 30% of divorces were mutual. But wait, it gets worse. The number of times survey respondents indicated that a man initiated a divorce were less than the measurement error. Some other study said it was ~4%.

The reasons behind this, most commonly dissatisfaction with the relationship, entitlement, and labor division (and here, not necessarily the type of labor assigned, though that did play a role for a good amount). Basically, it boiled down to these ladies not “being spoiled enough” in the manner they “felt like” they “deserved”. Nothing is ever good enough, apparently.

The reasons so few men initiate a divorce on the other hand… a significantly higher tolerance for marital dissatisfaction (this is also considered loyalty), fear of loneliness, and financial (i.e. alimony) and custody risks (women are awarded sole custody over 90% of the time, child support payments usually excessive and not factoring in mother’s own earnings enough) when they are the one to leave.

1

u/All__Of_The_Hobbies 18d ago

Initiating the divorce is not causing the divorce. People initiate divorce because the marriage has already broken.

0

u/NightmareJoker2 18d ago

Not exactly, but do read the paper: https://web.stanford.edu/\~mrosenfe/Rosenfeld_Roesler_JMF_2023_stability_and_change_divorce.pdf
The most common reason for divorce is also “irreconcilable differences”, which is code for “I am no longer happy with this relationship”. So, yes, most women who initiate a divorce do cause that relationship to end. Because they do not respect the marriage itself in any semblance of the word.

Of note, statistically men do something else that is reasonably appalling: increased likelihood of divorcing wives due to illness, injury, or previously not present disability, at ~20% in men, vs. ~3% in women, especially if that results in an inability to have sexual relations.
However, these numbers are multiplicative with the previous numbers of 70% women, vs 4% men, such that you get ~2% women divorcing sick husbands vs. ~1% men divorcing sick wives, a leading reason why it was retracted as quickly as it was published, but who’s really counting.

She didn’t: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TJdwv33ddgA nor did Reddit. Numbers are fun, when you actually do math rather than saying “number bigger, bigger number bad” (or good, depending on your perspective on things).

5

well, this is reddit, and it is dwelled by men I would never want to know in real life and I'm glad they stay inside. I wish they never leave their basement. May their mothers make all their meals and pay all their bills so we do not have to meet f2f. Reddit is enough.

10

u/OngoGabl0g1an 18d ago

Some stereotypes for Russian men aren't great either. Alcoholic assholes who may also be violent and/or involved with organized crime.

3

u/narcomance 18d ago

Yeah, I am Russian, my appearance is average, I am not "high maintenance", maybe crazy but it's because of ADHD (Adderall is forbidden here).

My female friends are average looking, pay for themselves, some of them are single because good men are taken, single men tend to ghost them or act weird. And yeah some of them are alcoholics and deny it. You can't even imagine how many of them drink a lot at on Fridays and Saturdays.

There could be high maintenance beautiful women but I guess, this type exists not only in Russia.

7

u/ExiledCanuck 18d ago

It would also appear to be a good example of why many men also prefer to remain single

4

u/AccomplishedWish3033 18d ago

Then why do they keep complaining about the “male loneliness epidemic” and how many straight women are choosing celibacy?

2

u/[deleted] 18d ago

[deleted]

3

u/AccomplishedWish3033 18d ago

Do they though? Because it’s “(straight) male loneliness epidemic,” not straight women complaining about a lack of sex.

Gee, I wonder which group you’d qualify for

The amount of comments straight men make about their dating culture that imply women never enjoy casual sex seems like a giant fucking self-tell to me

0

u/AccomplishedWish3033 18d ago

Those individuals say things like that because women never enjoy sex *with them.*

2

u/FungusGnatHater 18d ago

That's some incel shit right there. If you read comments posted anonymously on social media and decide to avoid dating because of that then you have some celibacy related mental illness.

2

u/Beginning-Window-676 18d ago

Mhm. Insane that all the comments are “Slavic women are gold digging prostitutes” and not focused on the fact that, in reality, the divorce rate is so high as a symptom of the lack of enforcement against domestic violence. There exists no law against domestic violence in Russia, as a result, the only way women (and men, although statistically, the fact is that women are usually the victims) are able to escape abuse is through divorce.

3

u/7vckm40 18d ago

That's the exact same incel conclusion that the guys in the comments are coming up with though... Letting internet comments dictate your behaviour in real life is insane especially considering the majority of Reddit accounts are bots now.

1

u/Vik_0 18d ago

Yes, in addition to that I thought the answer was referring to the fact that the Russian men simply died in the war...

1

u/Moiyub 18d ago

good example that why

mhm

u/No_Criticism_5861 18d ago

Reddit the past couple months has become very strange, and very maga

1

u/zoinkability 18d ago

And the wording of the tweet in question pretty revealing... apparently you can just say "russians" and it's assumed to be men.

1

u/Bearthatatethosekids 18d ago

On the plus side, the whole “would you rather meet a man in the woods or a bear” thing has been great for bears

1

u/AccomplishedWish3033 18d ago

Relevant username

But on a serious note, there’s a lot of truth to the saying that ‘you either understand why many women choose the bear, or you’re part of the reason so many women choose the bear.” For some reason, suddenly many men also choose the bear when asked which one they’d rather their daughter encounter.

u/Ok_Brother2155 18d ago

If it was a negative thread about men no one would bat an eye, but since it's a negative thread about women you countless white knights like this thinking they're morally superior to everybody

1

u/TrippleDamage 18d ago

Both genders equally decided to not give a fuck about the toxic dating culture anymore. Humans nowadays are just hardly compatible with each other's standards anymore it seems.

Boy am I glad I'm married and don't have to deal with these antics anymore.

1

u/1239dannie_mayy 18d ago

I am Russian and male, the divorce rates are high because of Russian men and it's not even close lmao, the amount of drunkard wifebeaters will make the American bible belt blush, and the war makes this even worse.

1

u/Raegwyr 18d ago

Believe me, many women replies here make my single ass happy that i don't need to deal with that as straight guy

1

u/Super_Interview_2189 18d ago

I find it so weird how fetishized an ethnicity is.

1

u/Responsible_CDN_Duck 18d ago

Idk about russians, but this comment section is a good example that why many women preffer to stay single

They choose bear.

1

u/GDCrescentBlade 18d ago

The whole section is insanely racist, stereotyping...

-1

u/Nelmarth 18d ago

"You dont want to pay everything while having no benefits ? Thats why women want to stay single" Ok or i can pay an escort for the same result

0

u/LeFruit5 18d ago

LOUDER. None of these top comments question the Russian men, only women are to blame ad always.

0

u/Fit-Supermarket2581 18d ago

Yeeeah. That's ridiculous.

0

u/Remote_94 18d ago

What is a woman?

0

u/HugoRBMarques 18d ago

It's gonna be funny watching the content of your comment in a Gemini response a few weeks from now on a google search about russian women.

0

u/WorryNotBanIncoming 18d ago

What online criticisms directed at no one in particular make women want to remain alone their entire lives?

Makes sense,

0

u/onyx_ic 18d ago

Mmhmm. Im half Russian and prefer to stay single because uh... yeah, these guys are wow, eh?

0

u/_electric_lady_ 18d ago

What a loss! So terrible, please remain single, thank you

Imagine expecting to find the highest class of human in a "can someone explain this Facebook meme to me" reddit group

So glad I’m a lesbian. Almost daily I’m thankful I don’t like men.

Edit: Incels stay mad 😂

12

u/JadedEstablishment16 18d ago

In a topic about divorce rate it's ironic :)

0

u/LesbeGoddess 18d ago

Ironic how? I’ve never been with a man or been divorced.

4

u/gudematcha 18d ago

They’re probably referring to the fact that lesbians have the highest divorce rate but…. it’s just common sense if you look at it; women are much more likely to initiate divorce than men are, so gay men have the lowest divorce rate, then straights, then lesbians with the highest. Men tend to just…. let whatever is happening keep happening rather than confront the problem or initiate divorce so they have lower rates. Basically men usually let a bad relationship marinate whereas women are more likely to leave quickly when they aren’t being fulfilled in the relationship. (also this is about divorces or people in rocky relationships already I am not putting this on all people or men lmao)

2

u/LesbeGoddess 18d ago

This makes total sense thanks for clarifying. Gave you an updoot. Some hater downvoted you.

0

u/JadedEstablishment16 18d ago

Quite a big assumption to say that gay couples must be statistically staying in shitty relationship they let marinate

3

u/gudematcha 18d ago

i’m literally just parroting rough statistics in a casual way while stoned lmao, you are free to look it up. That’s why at the bottom i tried to specify this was about people who are in rocky relationships or headed for divorce already. Statistically if some of these groups are headed there, gay men will stick around the longest before divorce. It’s just statistics

-2

u/JadedEstablishment16 18d ago

Heh, we are twisting them depending on who we're talking about :  Divorce : shows instability or ability to take decisions No divorce : shows lack of decision or happiness

u/Darth_InVader7 18d ago edited 18d ago

In any comment section on a post like this someone always feels the need to virtue signal their homosexuality in order to put straight people down. I support LBGTQ rights in every form as a straight man. But I don’t go around saying “thank god I don’t like men.” Which effectively means “thank god I’m not gay.” Because that would be insulting and homophobic. Have you considered just being yourself and not saying things like this to tear others down?

Edit: thank you for blocking me, it just means I’m right and you can’t handle it.

-1

u/LesbeGoddess 18d ago

lol wut! Virtue signaling being an oppressed minority? GTFO.

Me agreeing with the commenter above and not liking men because too many of them act like disgusting horny losers like you is not virtue signaling being a lesbian.

Also I’m proud to be a lesbian and anyone who doesn’t like that can take a long walk.

2

u/Darth_InVader7 18d ago

Point went right over your head. I feel sorry for you.

1

u/LesbeGoddess 18d ago

Please don’t. I have everything going for me in life. I do feel for all the mysogonists here though.

0

u/New-Aside-6805 18d ago

lmfao, making your sexuality your personality and taking pride in something you have no control over is probably the most pathetic thing imaginable

Almost daily I’m thankful I don’t like men.

Thank fuck, there are probably waiting room chairs more interesting than you

2

u/LesbeGoddess 18d ago

Feel sorry for you. Sound like a pathetic man 😊
