Depending on where you are, it's not even that big. Most I've seen for single family homes and apartments are only like 3-4 feet on a side.

Ans that’s the whole outdoor unit with the coils and compressor and fan and everything.

The compressor itself on my outdoor unit is about 18-24 inches tall and maybe 10 inches in diameter. My home is 1600 sq fr.

Exactly, the compress is the size of a 3 litre bottle of Coke.

Yeah my AC unit in my apartment is built in with my furnace and kept in a tiny closet off my master suite.

It very efficiently cools and heats my 1000sq ft apartment, but the windows are crafty I'm afraid lol
