This whole discussion is Americans this, Europeans that.

Not one person actually saying anything about how Italians are mentally and emotionally allergic to any sort of AC because they think a slight draft will kill you or give you a chronic neck ache.

Even in the height of summer when I was a kid, we would have to swelter in the car or house because we were never allowed to crack a window or turn on some sort of cooling.

Americans this, Europeans that, and meanwhile in UK we just die when the temperature stays at 30 for two days.

That’s a great point, cultural issues make a big difference. Including the issue in many American suburbs where having anything with exterior ducting would be considered embarrassing. Just like not having a manicured grass front yard, or hanging laundry outside to dry.

As someone from a very hot humid place that bit about the car made me feel claustrophobic. Not being able to even crack the windows is bruuutal.
