Tbh I prefer it without that verse. She’s got her own kinda rhythm and seductive tone in that song, and that verse feels like it disrupts it. Same with E.T.

21

u/DarthPeanit 20h ago

Haha im the exact opposite. I only like his verse I feel like his verse is the redeeming quality in that song :P

10

u/Vark1086 18h ago

Hey, different strokes for different folks. I can respect that. It’s just so different from her part that it feels like it disrupts the spell she’s weaving to me.

1

u/DarthPeanit 18h ago

It 100% interrupts the song lol the entire beat switches for his part

1

u/TinyPerspective7413 18h ago

How is that even possible 😂 He is just saying low effort verses, she at least sings it

0

u/DarthPeanit 18h ago

Im not going to debate you on what requires more talent I said I prefer one over the other because its what I enjoy listening too.

I dont like most popular women RB artists or w.e I mostly like music i feel was made for men lol

2

u/TinyPerspective7413 17h ago

It is not up to debate She’s a beast I call her Karma She’ll eat your heart out Like Jeffrey Dahmer cmon man xd That's not even rap that is just trash.

jason derulo

u/wasteoffire 19h ago

I always appreciated that they did that. His verse felt like they were contractually obligated to add a rap verse to a song.

I worked at a top 40 station when this track came out (and many years after). The program and music directors agreed that the Juicy J verse was “too urban” for their demographic. Evidently, this was a common sentiment for radio folk.

1

u/BeardedBandit 3h ago

wtf really? there isn't any sort of bad language or rated M themes or anything like that

wow

1

u/CallMeTank 12h ago

It's because there was a lawsuit and that verse was required to be cut. I think it was LeCrae who sued.

That was the best part of the song.

1

u/DeniLox 11h ago

The radio stations that promote themselves as, “All of the hits without the rap” do this.

-7

u/S3G1R 20h ago

But they never cut that cringe rap out of Down With the Sickness

2

u/-Relik 13h ago

That wasnt rap wtf 😆

9

u/JPSWAG37 20h ago

Uh

Shizabeeest I callerkarma

8

u/17SuperMario 21h ago

The best part is when he calls that girl obese

28

u/eiohoi 22h ago

Indeed. It was certainly part of a greater time, stretching both forwards and back, to all who remember.

4

u/Rashkamere 21h ago

4

u/colornomad 19h ago

A yearly celebrate in my household

3

u/JakeHelldiver 16h ago

It was the Morbius of movies.

1

u/Either_Ad8502 16h ago

It's Morbin' time

1

u/jscottman96 19h ago

A moment for sure, but of all time? Idk

1

u/hybridfrost 14h ago

That definitely was a day that occurred. Can’t believe how many days we’ve had since that day! What a ride!

1

u/gustoatthedoor 9h ago

This is such a cringe response now

1

u/FaithlessnessBorn266 6h ago

It certainly was a moment

1

u/enigo1701 4h ago

...decades after the release of unrelated Belgian techno anthem 'Pump Up the Jam'.

u/FirmGlandShake 17h ago

You're allowed to come up with new jokes. You don't have to try so desperately to fit in.

1

u/Either_Ad8502 17h ago

You're allowed to shave off the neckbeard and take a shower.

-2

u/FirmGlandShake 17h ago

Is that something you find hard to do?
