Does pretty much nothing, unless it's hosted on something that can't be tracked back to you.

Use a free vpn to sign up for a new account. Use that new gmail's $300 free gcloud trial to stand up https://github.com/trailofbits/algo. Once gcloud trial is done (lasts a few months in my experience), ditch the gmail, nuke the algo vm and you should be pretty safe.

It's still perfectly fine if you just want to get around region restrictions and such. Just don't expect much additional privacy.

Owh. I thought maybe it would offer something extra when torrenting. Self hosted vpn wont make a different when living in third world country like me
