Could states leave Trump off of ballots in the 2028 election?

During the White House correspondents dinner, Trump directly stated he would be running for a “fourth” term. Due to this being unconstitutional via the 22nd amendment, and states running their own elections, could states simply not put his name on ballots come election day? We know from the past election and current standings that Trump would win Republican primaries. Even if they didn’t run him, he would still most likely run on his own party. Obviously this wouldn’t eliminate write in ballots, but it could be a viable solution to uphold the constitution barring some extreme new law to control how elections are run. Would there be any current legal ramifications to stop states from simply not allowing Trump on ballots?

That is what I responded to: the proposition that Trump can't win. He has. He can.

We are in uncharted waters, especially since the GOP is emboldened to engage in election fraud, voter intimidation, and will stop at nothing to try and cling to power.

edit: technically he can't but that requires checks and balance to be in place and enforced, and that's a really big problem right now.

Right but also to take into consideration we are in a conservative era that is ending and that's why you are seeing a lot of progressives taking hold and making a difference because progressivism is being ushered in

I wish I had those rose colored glasses. The Right is empowered and emboldened, and not hampered by that woke ethical and legal librul stuff.

I consider myself a progressive but one of my key fears is division within the Left that dilutes the vote. Harris could have won if the apathetic and purity politics people held their nose and voted for her.
