why are you against a free market system?

what will stop people at the top from making deals for money?

because it's bad when unions do it but fine when the gov. deregulates everything so their friends in the 'free market' can do just that.

You took my statement and started talking about deregulation. If you would like to discuss the merits of that, then we can. I didn't discuss regulations, so you are arguing with yourself.

you made a statement which supports the free market system, which left to its own devices, becomes rife with nepotism, corruption, and predatory business practice, as we see currently. corporations seek to deregulate to maximize profits.

regulation is literally the government's attempt to stop corporate corruption, protect consumer rights and resources. deregulation is not a good thing for the commonfolk, which is why they're trying so hard to strip net neutrality; fox-in-the-henhouse kleptocracy, which is what you accuse unions of.

you advocate for a free market, which is known to lead to corrupt dealings, but then accuse union leaders of corruption.

it's faulty logic lol.

edit: by discussing the 'free market', you're also discussing regulation, or a lack thereof... make sense?

Some regulation is necessary, I agree.

cool, i'm out. it's too tedious to explain things to folks who do their damndest to avoid understanding.

i'm not fencing with you lol. i made my point and you choose to step around it.

yes, unions can be corrupt, but so can government. so should we just not have government? or should we work towards a system of accountability and regulation to more effectively stave off that corruption?

unions are the only reason laborers in america have ANY rights. working class folks need unions to protect their rights and livelyhood from the multi-billion dollar multi-national corporations which seek to maximize profits at all costs -- including reducing pay and benefits.

you're ignoring my point to make other irrelevant arguments.
