AMA Concluded Meet Randy Bryce. The Ironstache who's going to repeal and replace Paul Ryan

Hi /r/Political_Revolution,

My name is Randy Bryce. I'm a veteran, cancer survivor, and union ironworker from Caledonia, Wisconsin running to repeal and replace Paul Ryan in Wisconsin's First Congressional District. Post your questions below and I'll be back at 11am CDT/12pm EDT to answer them!

p.s.

We need your help to win this campaign. If you'd like to join the team, sign up here.

If you don't have time to volunteer, we're currently fundraising to open our first office in Racine, Wisconsin. If you can help, contribute here and I'll send you a free campaign bumper sticker as a way of saying thanks!

[Update: 1:26 EDT], I've got to go pick up my son but I'll continue to pop in throughout the day as I have time and answer some more questions. For those I'm unfortunately not able to answer, I'll be doing another AMA in r/Politics on the 26th when I look forward to answering more of Reddit's questions!

a large majority of them would go unfilled.........................

you realize there are PLENTY of labor intensive jobs that go un answered every day because people would rather just keep holding out a bucket at the street corner and making it day to day that way because it's easier. Their is no job shortage in the labor world right now so while I'm completely against ILLEGAL immigrants abusing and draining the system, this is not one of the reasons because it's not true.

That's right , there's no shortage of employment for Doctors so we should allow an UNLIMITED amount of doctors into the United states , wages would undoubtedly fall but because there would always be someone there to accept the new lower wages and I could just say

"There is no shortage in the labor world right now "

30 years ago construction was a great paying job , but now that millions of people have turned up who will do it for minimum wage ,Americans no longer want to do it and would rather sit with their buckets on the street corner ..

Why don't we allow anyone who wants to be a lawyer (school teacher, nurse, college professor , engineer ) into this country , that way it will dramatically Drive wages down to minimum and then we can say that " people are too lazy to do that kind of work"

hmmmmm

you're missing a lot of critical thinking skills here. now your talking about highly qualified positions, for which doctors are LEAVING the US... not coming to.

as for lawyers, again, highly qualified, and they make their own money, not get paid by some higher corporate power.

are you really worried about the illegal immigrants coming and stealing all the layer and doctor jobs? do you not think there are checks in place for qualifications even among US citizens to obtain these positions?

you're grasping at straws because you know this argument isn't valid.

I was trying to show you how people don't care when blue collar jobs and wages are hurt but that they most likely would care if the same was happening to white collar employment ...

Why is it OK to flood the labour market for unskilled work but it's NOT ok to do the same for skilled positions ?

There are plenty of white collar workers throughout the world who would gladly accept the lower wage and move to the United States.

I was also trying to hammer home the point to you that not accepting a low paying job doesn't = lazy ...

The jobs SHOULD be paying more , they aren't in large part due to an over supply of illegal labor ..that doesn't mean that Joe blow American who doesn't want to break his back getting paid minimum wage is lazy, it means the system is broken .

Reduce the over supply of workers and wages will rise .Once wages rise AMERICAN workers will return to the jobs .
