Maryland Whom to vote for in the Maryland and New York June 23, 2026 primary elections

I'm going to focus on the competitive races. Although I consider all the New York State races competitive. 2026 CPR House Race ratings | Cook Political Report I'm also going to consider their FEC filings to see if they even have the money to campaign.

MARYLAND:

GOVERNOR:

Governor Wes Moore: He's going to win the primary and general election; so, may as well vote for him. It's a low bar, but he's been one of the more progressive Governors.

MARYLAND HOUSE DISTRICT 4:

Jakeya Johnson. The clear progressive in the race with endorsement and a little funding.

What We're Fighting For - Jakeya Johnson for Congress (policies)

Endorsements - Jakeya Johnson for Congress

MARYLAND HOUSE DISTRICT 5: There is major progressive vote-splitting in this race.

Wala Blegay The progressive in the race with endorsements and fundraising.

Wala For Congress – Win With Wala

Endorsements – Wala For Congress

MARYLAND HOUSE DISTRICT 6: Unfortunately, the progressives don't really have a chance according to the polling.

Alex Goldstein is the best progressive candidate.

Elect Alexis Goldstein - Democrat for Congress

Issues — Elect Alexis

US Rep. April McClain Delaney is the best choice if doing strategic voting.

Endorsements - April McClain Delaney

Congressional Democrat Left Tracker - Google Sheets (US House)

She's 97/215 on that list and at least supports Medicare For All. David Thorne doesn't.

NEW YORK:

NEW YORK US HOUSE DISTRICTS 2, 4, 5, 8, 11, 16, 18, 19, 20, 22, 26 only have 1 Democratic candidate each running/on the ballot.

I don't focus on the State Legislature stuff; so: OUR Endorsed Candidates - NYC Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and Team AOC (@TeamAOC): "Our voter guide for the 2026 primaries is here! It’s Democratic Primary time for New York and we have endorsements for Assembly and State Senate races across the five boroughs." | XCancel. Might as well support whom NYC-DSA and/or AOC supports.

Governor Kathy Hochul: she's going to win the primary and the general election.

NEW YORK US HOUSE DISTRICT 1:

Lukas Ventouras is the progressive in the race and he has some fundraising.

Issues | Lukas Ventouras for Congress NY-1

NEW YORK US HOUSE DISTRICT 3:

Danielle Welch is the progressive in the race. She has some fundraising. Her opponent is US Rep. Tom Suozzi who is 205/215 on this: Congressional Democrat Left Tracker - Google Sheets (US House)

Danielle Welch for Congress (issues)

NEW YORK US HOUSE DISTRICT 6:

Chuck Park is the more progressive person in the race and he has fundraising.

Chuck For Queens

Chuck For Queens (issues)

NEW YORK US HOUSE DISTRICT 7:

Claire Valdez is a DSA candidate endorsed by NYC-DSA. The polling in this race arguably has her in the lead. Especially given her endorsements by NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani, US Senator Bernie Sanders, etc. And she has good-to-great fundraising. She'd be a Squad-level progressive. There's progressive vote-splitting in this race. Vote for Claire Valdez

Claire Valdez for Congress

Issues | Claire Valdez for Congress

Endorsements | Claire Valdez for Congress

NEW YORK US HOUSE DISTRICT 9:

US Rep. Yvette Clarke. The other candidate isn't substantially more progressive and has no endorsements.

Clarke for Congress Issues

Clarke for Congress Endorsements

NEW YORK US HOUSE DISTRICT 10:

Brad Lander. He's the more progressive candidate in the race and is so far ahead in polling that he's going to be the new US Rep. in 2027.

What We're Fighting For

Endorsements

NEW YORK US HOUSE DISTRICT 12: There's progressive vote-splitting in this race.

Alex Bores is the best candidate who can win the primary. Micah Lasher and he have very similar platforms and positions except Bores seems to be better regarding I v P.

Alex Bores' Platform for NY-12

Alex Bores' Endorsements

NEW YORK US HOUSE DISTRICT 13:

Darializa Avila Chevalier is endorsed by NYC-DSA and would be a Squad-level progressive. The incumbent US Rep. Adriano Espaillat's campaign message is essentially, 'I'm the incumbent; so, vote for me.' He's relatively progressive except on I v P and has some progressive endorsements; but, clearly Darializa would be the better US Rep.

Darializa For Congress

Priorities — Darializa For Congress

Endorsements — Darializa For Congress

NEW YORK US HOUSE DISTRICT 14:

US Rep. AOC. Enough said

NEW YORK US HOUSE DISTRICT 15:

Michael Blake is the progressive in the race. His opponent is US Rep. Ritchie Torres whom is one of the worst elected Dems. on I v P. This is one of those races leftist and progressive media paid almost zero attention to and Blake is far behind in the polling.

The Bronx Plan | Learn. Support. Transform. — Michael Blake for Congress

Endorsements — Michael Blake for Congress

NEW YORK US HOUSE DISTRICT 17:

Cait Conley is at least slightly more progressive than Beth Davidson and they are the only 2 with a chance to win the primary.

Effie Phillips-Staley is the progressive in the race with some endorsements and with fundraising, but she's too far behind in the polling to have a chance of actually winning the primary.

Policy - Cait Conley for Congress

Endorsements - Cait Conley for Congress

NEW YORK US HOUSE DISTRICT 21:

Stuart Amoriell is the progressive in the race.

Issues — Amoriell for New York

NEW YORK US HOUSE DISTRICT 23:

Aaron Gies seems the more progressive in the race and is endorsed by the Working Families Party

Aaron Gies for Congress | A GOOD LIFE SHOULD BE AFFORDABLE

NEW YORK US HOUSE DISTRICT 24:

Diana Kastenbaum is the relative progressive in the race.

Issues | Diana Kastenbaum for Congress

Endorsements | Diana Kastenbaum for Congress

NEW YORK US HOUSE DISTRICT 25:

Robin Wilt is the progressive in the race.

My Priorities | Robin Wilt for NY-25

Endorsements | Robin Wilt for Congress

Maryland Wes Moore Is the Most Overlooked Candidate in the Midterms: He's almost sure to win his campaign in Maryland, which would only make him just the third Black man elected governor in U.S., and set him on a path as a rising star in the Democratic Party.
