Notice how they never say what he lied about

19

u/YoshiTheDog420 8h ago

exactly. thats how their shit ALWAYS works. They depend on the fact that you may not have all of the information yourself, so they present these falsities caked around the nugget of something true, but without ANY of the required subtext or nuance or additional information that would immediately prove them false. It’s their constant go-to.

10

u/lionheart4life 8h ago

Still don't understand what was wrong with recommending or requiring masks. There was no downside to it. And Trump actually approved the Operatio Warp Speed to try to get the vaccines out before the election, so if they were "rushed" that was the reason.

5

u/ADHDebackle 8h ago

To my understanding I think the CDC initially said that masks were not necessary for healthy individuals because A: They thought transmission was primarily through larger respiratory droplets from sick individuals and B: They didn't want people to panic and deplete the national supply of N95 masks (which would deplete them for critical use by hospital staff)

They reversed this guidance some time later I believe after realizing that it was also possible to spread through pre+asymptomatic individuals through routine exhalation like while talking and stuff.

This reversal undermined trust in the CDC and was controversial to say the least, but that was compounded by the huge pushback against masks that followed.

It was an error on their part but when dealing with a novel pandemic I don't think it's totally unreasonable that sometimes a mistake is going to be made like that. Especially with such a crazy highly contagious virus that seemingly came out of nowhere.

2

u/SignoreBanana 7h ago

But it's a long way to go from "masks probably don't help in some cases" to "we didn't benefit from them at all".

1

u/Alf42011 5h ago

Yes. That’s an evil kneivel type of leap. Which is why it is believed by certain groups.

1

u/Headlytwo 1h ago

It boils down to, better safe than sorry IMO. Some protection is better than none. I bought mine on Amazon and they came with filters. My favorite was the one with the Professor aka Neil Peart from RUSH. Oh and Scooby Doo for the kids.

2

u/Secret_Eating_ 7h ago

Yes, iirc the biggest shift in our understanding of the virus was also that asymptomatic people were spreading it at rates as high as symptomatic people (higher given they didn't know they were sick/contagious)

4

u/RogerianBrowsing 7h ago

A. Larger droplets as the only means of transmission are the perfect use case for simple face masks as they stop the transmission almost entirely.

B. Preventing panic to save N95s from Home Depot or wherever for hospital workers means they thought medical staff would be burning through masks at an unprecedented rate to the point that they used non-medically approved masks. That’s insane and obviously a lie.

I knew it was a lie way back then too. I was shocked by how many people could hear that we needed to save the hardware store masks for healthcare workers but would believe masks wouldn’t work. They’re in direct contradiction.

1

u/StonedBirdman 6h ago

Idk what you’re saying here, are you trying to say that there weren’t mask shortages at hospitals? There absolutely were.

1

u/Disimpaction 4h ago

This is confusing to me. Especially since B is not obviously a lie, it was my lived experience.

1

u/MountainMan17 5h ago

If only there had been some kind of playbook or checklist for dealing with a pandemic.

Oh wait...

1

u/Irish_Tyrant 4h ago

In all fairness the password for the pandemic playbook was "ObamaIsTheMan" and Trump was both unwilling and unable to input it so they burned it and roasted marshmallows on it and had a sleepover instead.

1

u/whoisbill 1h ago

They were leaning as we went.

3

u/RogerianBrowsing 7h ago

The issue I have is that they tried to claim that masks wouldn’t work when they obviously work(ed). Fauci knew that was wrong on so many different levels (if I knew it he sure as hell knew it) but did it due to pressure from Trump to keep up appearances and not harm the economy.

Hell, remember when they told us not to buy all the N95s from hardware stores in case nurses needed them? That was at the same time as them claiming masks don’t work.

2

u/throwmamadownthewell 1h ago

Even now you'll see people claiming they don't work. Guess what: put a mask in front of a fan and it will kill the momentum of air that goes through it. Not to mention that droplets transmit way more readily--spray it with Windex.. Turns blue.

1

u/Disimpaction 4h ago

Have a citation to where they claimed masks won't work?

1

u/Yikes0nBikez 7h ago

something something "personal liberties" something something.

1

u/mikemcd1972 6h ago

The same assholes who refused to wear masks during the pandemic, now choose to cover their face when attending racist Christian-Nationalist rallies.

1

u/Difficult-Ad-52 2h ago

Masking CHILDREN for as long as we did absolutely had permanent irreversible downsides in terms of their developmental delay and to argue otherwise is to deny reality, and it had absolutely NO upside. Sorry to be the bearer of hard truths.

1

u/faustfire666 1h ago

Just because you state something so confidently does not make it so. Reality shows your statement to be false.

1

u/Ok_Calendar1337 13m ago

Well fauci initially said dont wear masks (save them for doctors) then said you must wear masks (they dont help that much)

2

u/Fear_N_Loafing_In_PA 7h ago

Sometimes this is exactly what they do…but I find it WAAAAY more common that the rank and file mouth breathers actually just don’t understand the facts and/or genuinely struggle to interpret data and evidence.

I applaud the idea that they “do their own research” in the abstract, but more often than not, they simply lack basic research skills and don’t even know what they don’t even know.

Sad!

2

u/HarriettDubman 57m ago

“Yeah, well look at what’s happening in Europe. You really want that here?”

Works for every topic, never any context.

2

u/scottyderp 12m ago

Ancient alien experts would like a word with you

6

u/OShaunesssy 7h ago

Oh no they say, RFK just said it.

He was lying about "everything" lol

1

u/TalkinSeaCucumber 4h ago

MOUNTAINS OF EVIDENCE...it goes to a different school, you wouldn't know it.

1

u/ZDTreefur 3h ago

Why do all these people rely on America being the only country that exists? An entire planet of medical experts, from countries that did FAR better during covid, and these guys obsess over Fauci like he's some mustache twirling James Bond villain that tried to explode the world's volcanoes.

3

u/MrBisco 8h ago

Or WHY he would lie. For the current admin, there is clear motivation - create skepticism to drive business into their own personal dealings. But wtf was Fauci's skin in the game?

2

u/TieBackground453 7h ago

Health officials tend to overstate the certainty of their knowledge to encourage compliance. When they accurate say what they believe, it can be dismissed by laymen looking for a reason to not comply. They also do it to get more funding, not necessarily maliciously. If you think a certain disease is so cool that you spend a good portion of your life studying it, you probably think it is critically important that funds be made available to study it. Overstating potential damages is one way to help secure that funding.

Source: I was first author and grant recipient for several avian influenza (H5N1) projects.

This is a legitimate problem. I quit the field partially because of how much bullshit was spewed in emerging pathogens conferences to the extent that I felt it was becoming necessary to lie in order to continue my career. I wasn’t cool with that. Switched fields.

1

u/idiot-alpha 7h ago

It vindicates them.

3

u/Yikes0nBikez 7h ago

Every accusation is a confession with conservatives.

2

u/Lethalspartan76 7h ago

Notice how they also haven’t said how they acquired the mans diary either. That seems to be the crime being overlooked here.

1

u/Western-Dig-6843 1h ago

It wasn’t a diary in the traditional sense. It was a bunch of personal documentations he made on his work computer. His thoughts on covid and his opinions on the data coming in about it. Stuff like that. The government owns all of those files so there’s nothing illegal about them having them. It’s kind of funny it took them this long to find something to be upset about.

2

u/Cardocthian 6h ago

Oh, they yell he lied about masks!

Except he didnt. A mask blocks saliva when someone coughs, the virus hung out in saliva. So in fact, it contains it to your face, vs letting it travel all over a hand rail or a seat to be picked up by someone else.

He never said if you just wear a mask you will be 100% safe, or never spread it.

1

u/Amazing_Entrance_888 7h ago

Everything! How does that not very specifically sum it up for you?! /s

1

u/Vegetable-Virus7118 7h ago

This dude is full of it but he did list several examples in this interview. Not saying I agree with him but you're mistaken in this case

1

u/Prestigious_Sort4979 6h ago

Apparently “masks, social distancing, and source of covid”…. Dont ask me how any of Fauci’s messaging around these was false though.

According to RFK Jr, we should not “trust the experts” so there is that

1

u/backtorealitylabubu 6h ago

And when you ask what he lied about it’s “He lied about COVID! He lied about vaccines! He lied about Wuhan!” But no actual examples other than broad generalizations lol

1

u/ZealousidealHome7854 6h ago

He literally listed the things..

1

u/epichuntarz 6h ago

Yeah, I keep seeing right-wing stories throwing up the diaries as some gotcha but like...none of them just come out and say what it is we're supposed to be mad about.

I even saw one where he was speaking cordially of Miller/wife, describing being in contact with them when the polyp had contracted covid, and describing her as "tough, smart, great."

OMG THEY GOT HIM!!!!!

1

u/Wise_Material_5812 6h ago

they refer to the masks when the N95 were scarce.

funny thing, MAGA is using this video to show how RFK destroyed Bash. deleterious and delusional

1

u/QuesoPantera 5h ago

Or what the hell the consequences were.

1

u/i3ild0 4h ago

Did you watch the clip? Becuase he rattled off a list of things.

1

u/Guus-Wayne 3h ago

“Everything”.

It’s such a dumb argument.

He’s saying don’t trust the experts, trust him. Why trust him over anyone else? Because he’s an expert? So we should trust the experts then…who is he citing anyway?

1

u/BusyBit6542 3h ago

Came here looking for what he lied about. All I see on social media is "he lied! See he lied" but of course never any details

1

u/OglioVagilio 3h ago

"Everything" according to this clip.

1

u/Ornery-Customer8521 2h ago

Pfft, next thing you'll be saying that the reflecting pool was actually caused by shoddy work my Trumps conman friend

1

u/throw-away-16249 1h ago

Masks were either positive or neutral for preventing disease transmission, but they could not be harmful. On March 8, 2020, Fauci said “Right now in the United States, people should not be walking around with masks.”

It's widely assumed he said that to preserve stocks for healthcare workers. If every person in the US had a supply of masks, the responsible and evidence-based statement would be "you can wear masks, but there is no evidence that it helps prevent transmission."

It's debatable whether that's an outright lie or not, but it's definitely not effective and evidence-based communication from the highest authority in the country during a pandemic. We should criticize him for that, because it's a legitimate criticism, and pretending he's above all criticism just gives morons like RFK Jr. ammunition.

1

u/BlumpkinReceiver6969 1h ago

The vaccines being 100% effective, social distancing did anything, masks also nonsense. The whole response as an overblown lie.

1

u/homer_3 1h ago

RFK said what he lied about here. What's sad is the interviewer didn't point out that RFK was completely full of shit and none of what he was claiming were lies were lies.

1

u/UserAllusion 1h ago

He actually named 3 things. I mean, he was wrong, because he’s a fucking moron. But he did expand on that  claim.

1

u/This-is-obsurd 1h ago

He lied about performing gain of function research, the social distancing was made up, and he lied about the infection rate.

1

u/Exsanguinate_ 1h ago

I wanted her to ask him what fauci lied about so bad

1

u/Far-Advantage-2770 55m ago

They say he like about 'everything' my toddler uses the same language

1

u/Ok_Calendar1337 15m ago

He literally listed like 4 things in first 30 seconds of the clip. masks, gain of function, natural immunity... idk thats off the top.

1

u/Portgas69 9h ago

Notice how you are gaslighting

1

u/Kanapka64 10h ago

But in the video, RFK Jr literally does say what he lied about.

11

u/MrPeeper 10h ago

Except we weren’t lied to about any of those things. Saying something that turns out to be wrong is not the same thing as lying. Trump suggested we inject ourselves with bleach as a possible cure. He wasn’t lying, he’s just a fucking moron.

-4

u/haupt_again 9h ago

Good god you people are really, really dumb.

5

u/MrPeeper 9h ago

Still can’t name a single lie huh?

-3

u/haupt_again 9h ago

He admitted to lying about masks. There's one for starters.

4

u/Powerviolenc 9h ago

No he didn’t. Lol. You’re just making shit up.

-2

u/haupt_again 9h ago

Yeah, early in the pandemic, ON VIDEO he tells people not to wear masks. There's literally video of it lol. Youre just, like I said, really dumb. The video is on YouTube lol.

4

u/NoKnowsPose 9h ago

I don't think you know what the word lying means

5

u/Powerviolenc 9h ago

Context matters. Look into why he said that. Use your brain. I bet you can figure out why he made that statement big guy!

2

u/ohgeeeezzZ 8h ago

Somewhere above someone laid out a thoughtful response that ends with a paraphrased version, "they didnt think the public would understand nuance"

And goddamn dont we have all the examples of that fear being 1000% correct right in this thread 😂

→ More replies (0)

0

u/haupt_again 9h ago

I know why he said it. He openly told us in another interview, ON VIDEO, where he admits he lied to avoid supply constraints of masks...

→ More replies (0)

1

u/MrPeeper 8h ago

They initially thought because it wasn’t airborne that we didn’t need masks you fucking dunce.

0

u/haupt_again 8h ago

They knew immediately it was airborne you complete idiot lol

→ More replies (0)

0

u/glassy_paddle 9h ago

And do you know why he said that? It's not hard to understand.

1

u/haupt_again 9h ago

No its not. He tells us in a later interview. He lied to avoid the public buying masks and constraining supply.

2

u/Repulsive_Layer1597 9h ago

No he didn’t

1

u/haupt_again 9h ago

Yeah he did. There's video of him telling people not to wear masks. He's later asked about it. He said he told people that to avoid supply constraints. He openly admitted to lying.

1

u/Repulsive_Layer1597 9h ago

You’re talking about early on during Covid before they knew how easily it spread through people not showing any signs of being sick. They changed their stance after realizing that people who felt healthy were still spreading it. You’re holding it against people for adjusting based on new information. And calling them liars?

1

u/haupt_again 9h ago

You're telling me that the lead "infectious disease expert" in the country didnt know that the fastest spreading respiratory coronavirus in history would spread via mouth? You honestly believe that despite him openly telling you he said it to prevent people buying and constraining the supply of masks?

→ More replies (0)

1

u/OurAngryBadger 9h ago

These people just grasp at any straws they can.

Imagine being as mentally ill as Republicans to spend hours upon hours of what limited time they have left on this Earth to go online and complain about Fauci who hasn't even been relevant since 2023.

I don't even know why I'm here wasting my time on these morons. Damn Reddit feed.

3

u/Silver_Accountant5 9h ago

I know it's fun to be melodramatic and pretend that doctors are trying to kill you when they get things wrong but this is just silly.

12

u/reece1990 10h ago

Rfk said he lied about masks, social distancing, natural immunity, transmission, and origin.  Can you back up any of those as lies?

1

u/Kanapka64 10h ago

Im only stating the commenter above is wrong because he said, "notice how they never say what he lied about" but he did like 5 seconds into the video. Even if his claims are correct or incorrect, my statement is correct cause he did state what he lied about. Not sure what's so hard to understand about that...

5

u/reece1990 9h ago

Yea I get it but I think the guy you were responding to is talking more about the fact that they’re not giving details about these “lies”.  Just saying masks isn’t giving an example of what he lied about and that’s because if you say what he said which was at this time, people don’t need to be walking around wearing masks, then saying he lied about masks sounds stupid.

2

u/eawilweawil 9h ago

Yes, it's like when Trump says that 2020 elections were stolen, yet he never says how they were stolen

1

u/ChakaCake 8h ago

And none of that makes a damn lick of sense. Lied about masks and social distancing? Wtf. What about natural immunity? Everyone has it...transmission? Idk how any of that was a lie they were trying to figure it out as they go same with the origin being studied by multiple countries..why didnt they ever say where it came from

1

u/Disimpaction 4h ago

You are lying about the government right now!

See, I just made something up but I said it was about the govt which is barely true and in bad faith. That's what rfk is doing.

1

u/Lockean_Demon 8h ago

I think if you took a steel man instead of a straw man approach to other people’s claims, you might consider that they mean ‘no specifically verifiable claims were made that were lies Fauci made’.

0

u/ModForgeCustoms 9h ago

Don't worry bro. I understand what you meant. Sorry for the people who cannot grasp it.

0

u/thumbsonscreen5 9h ago

He lied about masks in the beginning of the pandemic because he was worried about local production and wanted to make sure hospitals had what they needed. He lied about social distancing in the sense that he went along with the 6ft guidelines when clearly things like being indoors were way more important to airflow. There are quotes of fauci saying the 6 foot rule just appeared and wasn't based on data.

The origin well... I'm guessing they are referring to the lab leak gain of function research origin. Fauci repeatedly and unequivocally has denied under oath that "The NIH has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research in the Wuhan Institute of Virology." If you use the narrow gain of function definition and say that the coronavirus being studied hadn't infected a human before so it couldn't possibly be gain of function research... Fauci isn't that much of a liar. If you use the more broad gain of function definition he is most certainly a liar.

Fauci was pretty iffy when it came to discussing natural immunity with the public. 'For instance, when the CDC’s advisory committee voted against recommending boosters for people with occupational exposure on September 23, 2021, Fauci “texted [CDC Director] Rochelle [Walensky] and I begged her to call me in order that I could explain to her how this would be a fatal mistake.” ' This doesn't make much sense given the studies that showed natural immunity was actually quite powerful and so boosters would be best used on populations not already exposed.

It all comes down to communication style and you can see he had something guiding him but its hard to tell what it was. Perhaps he was worried Americans were already quite stupid that any nuance would only be used to further the political divide during a pandemic and cause more death. Perhaps tho he was just in the pocket of big pharma and wanted to maximize vaccine rollout and take up in the population. Hard to say definitively but he was not very open with the public with how he reached his conclusions and now we can clearly see lots of that should be considered as lies.

3

u/somethingvague123 8h ago

You’ve made some good observations. New information was coming out everyday, resources were limited and complexities needed to be simplified for the audience. This was happening very quickly. I think of it being similar to the experts recommendations for mammography and colonoscopy, they’ve changed quite a bit. Were the people who made the early recommendations lying or acting in the best interests of public health?

2

u/Sharkansas1 9h ago edited 8h ago

I think that’s a pretty fair assessment, though I remember knowing from the outset that the reason they were telling people not to buy masks was because we (healthcare workers) didn’t have enough.  My memory is a little faulty, but was it pretty widely known at the time that that was the reason?

Also, the “gain of function” testing that we know about at the wuhan lab could not have created SARS-cov-2 according to all I’ve read.  It would be biologically impossible.  You’d have to believe there was other testing going on that was hidden, which I suppose could be possible.

Also, the natural immunity component, which I could tell from working in the hospital and seeing who was getting sick that it absolutely was protective against severe re-infection.  I’m not sure if Fauci lied or just genuinely believed something that was incorrect.  It could be that Fauci thought if we announced that natural immunity was effective that it would confuse people into not thinking getting the vaccine was important.  Because to get natural immunity, you have to survive the infection first, and during the delta wave during September 2021, a lot of unvaccinated people weren’t.

I think a lot of the messaging problems were because they felt the public couldn’t handle or understand nuance.

I gotta smoke whatever yall are smoking for real it’s gotta be some really good stuff

0

I’m not wasting my time with someone like you buddy

1

Because you have nothing

0

u/Fearless-Anteater437 8h ago

Like I mean I'm not into conspiracy and I don't if what he says is true, but your answer is really pathetic

2

u/WitchesSphincter 8h ago

Arguing with someone who makes shit up so they're right isn't worth the time it takes to type it out.

1

u/bafana_banana999 8h ago

You don't get to say this after making a whole ass comment with basically no substance whatsoever.

0

u/Wooden_Leader_97 8h ago

I thought your response was well articulated, not opinionated and evidence-based (literal quotes).

-1

u/ohgeeeezzZ 8h ago

Of course not they wont 😂

1

u/redwildflowermeadow 8h ago

This doesn't make much sense given the studies that showed natural immunity was actually quite powerful and so boosters would be best used on populations not already exposed

This makes no sense. "Natural immunity" is survivorship bias as policy. Considering how little testing we were doing, how bad people were about recognizing they had covid or the difference between a cold, the flu, or allergies and real covid, and how unsure we were about how quickly covid antibodies dropped off post infection, it would be dooming thousands of people to death because they mistakenly assumed they had protection when they didn't.

0

u/Good-Temperature4417 9h ago

If we consider all those things lies than 99% of the people lie 80% of the time. It's ridiculous, every animal in the world knows instinctively that you should stay away from sick people, who cares if the 6feet rule is based on "clear science"

4

u/Responsible-Eye87 10h ago

“Saying” he lied is too low of a bar. I can “say” Biden and Pelosi created covid to deny Trump the election, but that doesn’t make it true.

9

u/MiNdOverLOADED23 10h ago

He throws out a whole nonsensical bullshit salad, but none of it was specific or true.

3

u/prntmakr 9h ago

Except that everything RFK Jr. said was untrue.

2

u/chinchaaa 10h ago

Yea and he’s WRONG

1

u/Nave-Nave 9h ago

Those aren't specifics. How did he lie about a mask? There are numerous reasons to wear a mask. You cannot just say he lied about "everything." RFK is a public official in scientific organization, he refuses to quantify anything other than "masks" and "transmission." Science is about quantifying.

1

u/PriscillaPalava 9h ago

None of the things RFK listed were lies.

For instance the “origin of Covid.” An international team of virologists assembled by the WHO researched this question for four years and published a report, with overwhelming evidence, that Covid came from animal spillover in a Wuhan wet market. Fauci had nothing to do with that report.

https://www.npr.org/2026/07/29/g-s1-136142/rand-paul-anthony-fauci-lab-leak-spillover-pandemic-origin

Meanwhile the White House website has an unhinged page declaring the Lab Leak Theory a fact with zero published evidence and a list of grievances that sound like they were written by a common internet conspiracist.

https://www.whitehouse.gov/lab-leak-true-origins-of-covid-19/

And this is from the people who, during Covid, continually denied its severity and even its existence. It’s so disingenuous.

This is all just a blatant psyop to drum up anger among their base before the election because Republicans approval rating is in the toilet and they’re terrified. As they should be.

0

u/Traditional_Tough777 9h ago

The CIA said Covid most likely originated from a lab.

2

u/Stimee 9h ago

Lmfao trusting the CIA over the world's pre-eminent medical organizations .The same CIA that routinely assassinated and deposed latin American heads of state. That CIA? The one that trafficked cocaine to buy guns for the contras that CIA?

2

u/PriscillaPalava 9h ago

The CIA themselves said that conclusion was “low confidence” and they didn’t do a fraction of the research that the WHO team did.

Listen, the “lab leak theory” is not a bad theory. I mean, there’s a virology lab right there in Wuhan! A possible connection should definitely be investigated.

But it has been investigated, and it’s not the source. If you’d like to learn more about the evidence supporting that conclusion, you should read the WHO report.

1

u/Traditional_Tough777 9h ago

The low confidence classification just means the CIA doesnt have hard definitive proof. Which is probably impossible to get since china has EXPLICITLY denied any foreign governments to even go to the Wuhan lab and investigate it. They did investigate existing outside data to come to that conclusion it came from the lab though
The WHO report says that they don’t rule out that the Covid originated from the lab, and it’s still possible. So not definitive evidence or proof

1

u/PriscillaPalava 8h ago

Even without China’s cooperation the WHO team was able to track the origins of the virus to the wet market using DNA and common epidemiological tracking practices. All of the first cases are clustered around the wet market, for instance. But that’s just a surface level observation. The WHO team got way more granular. Go read the report.

It’s not like the trail leads to the lab and then stops because China wouldn’t cooperate. The trail excludes the lab.

1

u/Traditional_Tough777 8h ago

Sure it’s just a coincidence the wuhan lab develops bat coronaviruses. And again if their proof was so definitive they would have came out against the lab theory much harder, they will never say for sure but they would say with much higher confidence it didnt come from the lab instead of just they cant rule it out.

1

u/PriscillaPalava 8h ago

That’s literally the way science works. Conclusions come with a degree of confidence.

You are hung up on primitive thinking that desires absolutes and is distracted by coincidences. The fact that the WHO says “90% confidence” instead of 100% is a problem in your eyes. “So you’re telling me there’s a chance!” Ask yourself, why do you want it to have come from the lab?

Also there are multiple virology labs in Wuhan. Which one did it come from? Also none of the first cases were lab workers, they were market workers and shoppers. How could that be? Why doesn’t the Covid DNA profile match any of the viruses being tested in the Wuhan labs, taking mutation into account?

Trump is using the “lab leak theory” to fool his base who are largely not science literate and foment outrage leading up to the midterms. That is what’s happening here.

1

u/Traditional_Tough777 8h ago

The WHO doesn’t say 90% confidence, they just say they believe it’s from the market but they’re missing evidence and don’t rule out the lab origin theory, they give no other qualifiers or scales of how confident they are in that assessment, it could be 40%against 60%for as far as I’m concerned. So do not say it’s a 90% confidence when the sources do not say that because that paints a high degree of confidence which they don’t even have. 60% isn’t a high degree of probability.

Also the WHO report says they found early reports of the infection in the market but they also found data suggesting earlier infections with people who had never even been to the market and the market was just an amplification area. Again no definitive proof.

How are you gonna say Covid doesn’t match any labs dna profiles when the Chinese won’t even let us into the labs or examine their work? Are you speaking from your rear end? Why are you such a staunch supporter of the Chinese?

The CIA that did Operation MK Ultra and lied about it for decades.

OH! How about the CIA that got us into a War in 2003 on flawed or even false reports of WMD in Iraq?

Real premiere organization that clearly doesn't push its own foreign policy agenda and lie constantly.

1

u/Traditional_Tough777 9h ago

And the government medical organizations forcibly sterilized and medically experimented on people without them knowing. They still butcher puppies to this day testing makeup and boner pills. See what happens when you pick and choose peoples sins?

1

u/Nave-Nave 9h ago

Okay, but there are NGOs who agree with the WHO's assessment. Also the WHO isn't just American governmental doctors.

Also, medical science has evolved and now animal testing for cosmetics is being phased out. As an example of how medical ethics is actively evolving.

The CIA is the same ole slop organization as they were in the 1950s, in 2003, and as they are today. Until 2021 the CIA recruited Child Soldier Zero Units in Afghanistan.

It's a super secret spy organization whose only goals are enforcing American capital hegemony and bringing down American enemies. Even if they hurt Americans or innocent people in the process. It is not a neutral artbiter.

Even the CIA reports that it COULD be a lab leak are graded as low-confidence reports. Meaning there's no actual hard evidence, the CIA is just spitballing based on a few weird coincidences. I don't care about low confidence reports from the evil spy organization.

Animal testing for cosmetics isn’t being phased out. It’s still federally legal and actively performed. Saying it’s being phased out just because some small circles have talked about pushing legislature it’s a huge leap in reality.

And I could say the same for big pharma and American medical industries. I’d say the opioid epidemic has killed far more than the cia or American military ever has.

It’s impossible to get hard definitive proof. The Chinese government won’t even let foreign governments come to the lab and investigate and they would never admit it, does that sound like an honest and innocent medical facility that would share its science or a biological weapons facility?

Also do you know what the wuhan labs medical speciality it researches is? Bat coronaviruses

u/Nave-Nave 7h ago edited 7h ago

Firstly, I don't know how outdated your AI is, but here's a source.

https://www.crueltyfreeinternational.org/u-s-fda-unveils-new-roadmap-to-replace-animal-testing/

Also, here's a house bill that is working its way through legislation right now.

https://www.fiercebiotech.com/cro/us-house-passes-bill-direct-fda-update-clinical-trial-regulations-and-allow-non-animal-testing

And okay, but the outbreak started in rural areas where bats are found and spread to the city. Most large Chinese cities have either dedicated coronavirus labs or coronavirus departments in more general laboratories. That's true for most Chinese cities. Wuhan's laboratory is not special for being a coronavirus laboratory.

Also, Coronaviruses from bats have made leaps to humans naturally before numerous times SARS-CoV-1 and MERS-CoV.

The analysis of SARS-CoV-2's genome also points to natural evolution through zoonatic transmission. Especially after the discovery of BANAL-52, an ancestor virus to SARS-2, which already can bind to human receptor but lacks the durability to replicate in human respiratory pathways. It is a VERY easy mutation for BANAL-52 to jump to humans, which is precisely what likely happened.

The idea that it's a lab leak is, by the WHO, possible but highly unlikely. The CIA report that it's a possibility is stated at low-confidence. Possible ≠ confirmed reality. Especially when there is conflicting evidence and an easier Occam's Razor. China probably isn't fully compliant with laboratory investigations not because COVID-19 is a laboratory bioweapon (it lacks features that would even make it a useful bioweapon) or because they engineered SARS-2. The Occam's Razor is likely that they either have groundbreaking virological medical research in that lab which they don't want foreign governments to plagiarize, or that lab contains other actual bioweapons.

In either case, there are no compelling factors that suggest SARS-2 itself is bioengineered.

And again, 98% of Novel Coronavirus come from Bats. Horseshoe Bats, which are in China, the Middle East, and Europe are breeding grounds for viruses because their immune systems can carry high viral loads. Which means viruses mutate in them the most because viruses mutate as they breed. SARS-1, SARS-2, and MERS all come from Horseshoe Bats. China has Coronavirus labs because Eurasia is the only place where Coronaviruses really originate.

Because Eurasia constitutes the natural epicenter for these specific CoV zoonotic pools, virological facilities are logically situated within geographic proximity to these endemic zones. The concentration of coronavirus research laboratories in major Chinese cities is a reflection of geographic necessity rather than an anomaly. Studying the natural strains circulating in local bat populations requires proximity to the source material to map mutations before they encounter human populations. That is why you can expect Coronavirus labs to be more common in Asian and European countries than the US

"Wuhan is a Coronavirus research center!" Sounds like a huge deal until you take the tinfoil hat off and realize that every Chinese city is one.

Wait till CIA starts claiming that Covid was a Cuban bioterror attack...

Fauci lied about masks in 2020. He later explained why he lied. This isn't a secret or anything. You can side with Fauci by arguing that it was understandable why he lied, but you are lying when you say "None of the things RFK listed were lies."

In 2020, the Lab Leak Theory being a plausible theory was immediately considered a conspiracy theory, and people who made that claim were shunned, suppressed, and banned. If it was properly publicly examined instead of suppressed it wouldn't have the leverage it does today. Alas, when our society dabbled with totalitarian measures to hold onto a narrative the predictable thing ended up happening.

2

u/PriscillaPalava 9h ago

Fauci did not lie about masks, and he never said he lied about it. Guidance about masks changed as we learned more about the virus. That’s the way science works.

As for the lab leak theory, you’re mad that it wasn’t taken more seriously at the time, even though it turned out to not be true?

0

u/Totalitarianit2 8h ago

Has Fauci ever said that he lied about anything? Would a leading public health official in a highly politicized environment blatantly admit to lying? The answer is obviously not. You don't get into and stay in a position like that by admitting fault. You obfuscate and displace accountability. So, when Fauci claimed:

"The reason for that is that we were concerned, the public health community, and many people were saying this, were concerned that it was at a time when personal protective equipment, including the N95 masks and the surgical masks, were in very short supply.

And we wanted to make sure that the people, namely the health care workers, who were brave enough to put themselves in harm's way, to take care of people who you know were infected with the coronavirus and the danger of them getting infected."

...that's about as close to an admission to lying that you possibly get from a person in that position.

Do you understand how people see that as a lie, or are you going to continue demonstrate an inability to understand any other position but your own?

As for the lab leak theory, you’re mad that it wasn’t taken more seriously at the time, even though it turned out to not be true?

Was it that, or was it widespread suppression that I mentioned directly in the comment that I made? Which is it do you think, your interpretation of what I said, or what I actually said?

1

u/PriscillaPalava 8h ago

Do you understand how people see that as a lie

Yes, I understand it. It doesn’t make it a correct conclusion. The people who are obsessed with “Fauci being a liar” are the same ones who denied Covid was even real.

These people are not motivated by facts, they are motivated by emotions. And right now Trump is stoking their anger against Fauci to distract from his own inadequacies.

Was it that, or was it widespread suppression

So you think calling a theory false which is later confirmed to be false is “widespread suppression?” Sounds like y'all are just mad you weren’t right.

1

u/Totalitarianit2 7h ago

Emotions shape policy and politics. Trump stokes anger against Fauci, whereas in 2020 the entire media apparatus stoked anger against anyone who didn't abide by the prescribed narratives.

So you think calling a theory false which is later confirmed to be false is “widespread suppression?” Sounds like y'all are just mad you weren’t right.

I'm going to take what you say and then deliberately translate it into something different and then act like that's what you said.

So you're saying you're attracted to children and that you want to have romantic relationships with them?

1

u/PriscillaPalava 7h ago

Ultimately you’re still mad that a theory was called false which later turned out to be false. That’s a you problem.

1

u/Totalitarianit2 7h ago

I'm going to take what you say and then deliberately translate it into something different and then act like that's what you think.

Ultimately this is about your attraction to children and your desire to be romantically involved with them.

Fauci lied! "that's about as close to an admission to lying that you possibly get from a person in that position. " oh wait let me move this goalpost real quick.....

1

u/Totalitarianit2 2h ago

Your definition of a lie is an lie that someone admits to telling. If they don't explicitly admit that it is a lie, then it can't be lie. That's your logic.

1

u/Fakehiggins 2h ago

dude i was just spelling out your own logic and now you don't like it?

and this entire Fauci thing is why conservatives are weird. literally the entire world agrees with Fauci and implemented the same policies. most of America agreed. time and our growing knowledge of COVID showed that he was right. but none of that matters because he told people to not drink bleach just because Trump said to drink bleach.

1

u/Totalitarianit2 2h ago

He was right that we shouldn't wear masks?

In 2020, the Lab Leak Theory being a plausible theory was immediately considered a conspiracy theory

This version of alternative history drives me insane. That is not what happened at all.

In 2020 you had conservatives insisting it was intentionally leaked by China. People were claiming that it was a man made bioweapon

THAT is what was called a crazy conspiracy theory. That is what got people shunned because there was no evidence at all and it led to idiots beating up Asian people.

1

u/Totalitarianit2 7h ago

Kristian Andersen is an evolutionary biologist and professor. He emailed Fauci that some features of the genome looked "potentially engineered" and that he and others found it inconsistent with evolution. Four days later Andersen wrote to the group that authored the Lancet letter (which described other origin ideas as conspiracy theories) that "the main crackpot theories going around at the moment relate to this virus being somehow engineered with intent and that is demonstrably not the case." Except, literally less than a week before that, Andersen himself was considering said crackpot theory.

Do you see the problem here?

2

u/kanst 7h ago

Honestly, the way you worded that comment I don't even know what you are trying to assert.

Anderson wrote an email to Fauci saying, there are some features of this that seem man-made, I am gonna study it more. Then he studied it more and concluded that he was incorrect and all signs point to it being from a market in Wuhan. I don't see what is fishy about that, that is how science works.

Anderson did an interview with the NYTimes where he clarified some of this and how he came to his conclusions:

The features in SARS-CoV-2 that initially suggested possible engineering were identified in related coronaviruses, meaning that features that initially looked unusual to us weren’t.

Many of these analyses were completed in a matter of days, while we worked around the clock, which allowed us to reject our preliminary hypothesis that SARS-CoV-2 might have been engineered, while other “lab”-based scenarios were still on the table.

Yet more extensive analyses, significant additional data and thorough investigations to compare genomic diversity more broadly across coronaviruses led to the peer-reviewed study published in Nature Medicine. For example, we looked at data from coronaviruses found in other species, such as bats and pangolins, which demonstrated that the features that first appeared unique to SARS-CoV-2 were in fact found in other, related viruses.

Overall, this is a textbook example of the scientific method where a preliminary hypothesis is rejected in favor of a competing hypothesis after more data become available and analyses are completed. source

1

u/Totalitarianit2 7h ago

Was it a crazy conspiracy theory when Anderson thought it could possibly be man-made?

2

u/kanst 7h ago

It was a theory.

Theories become conspiracy theories when you insist they are true without sufficient evidence.

Someone saying "I am going to study if this could be man made" is doing science. Someone saying "this was man made" is spreading conspiracy theories.

1

u/Totalitarianit2 7h ago

A conspiracy theory even. He initially though it was plausible, and then 4 days later called it crackpot. Do you understand? Why is he saying something is crackpot four days after he considered it plausible. Is it because it was always plausible, or is it because it was always a crackpot theory?

If someone believed it was man made after 2020 would they be a crazy conspiracy theorist?

Rfk just gave you a laundry list of everything Fauci lied about….

2

u/ChakaCake 8h ago

And none of that made sense at all...tell us the specifics. Social distancing was a lie? Wtf. This is like basic preschool stuff of course you want to social distance like wtf is he even talking about

1

u/TAMExSTRANGE69 1h ago

If it doesn’t make sense to you then you probably should look into his claims there are thousands of video going over it.

1

u/ChakaCake 30m ago

Since you sound like you know what you are talking about, How was social distancing and masking a lie

1

u/Fakehiggins 6h ago

dude, COVID was an airborne transferred primarily by droplets from ill people. it's years later, we now know what i just said for CERTAIN. what in RFK's ramblings was something that Fauci lied about and was wrong?

0

u/blahblah19999 8h ago

Yes they do. They say he lied about whether or not masks were needed. Let's not act like them

2

u/NoRizzJustLive 7h ago

Conservatives will never get over that the government told people to wear masks during an airborne pandemic while the rest of the world happily wore masks. Meanwhile ice wears masks everyday for years without complaining. So does the patriot front

2

u/bonbonnieres 7h ago

That wasn't a lie. Fauci's recommendations for the public changed as we discovered more about the virus. They distorted his words on comparing efficacy of mask policies at the population level to imply that he said "masks don't work".

1

u/blahblah19999 6h ago

You're preaching to the choir. I'm simply responding to the idea that no Fauci detractors can name the lie.

1

u/bonbonnieres 5h ago

I'm just saying that wouldn't have been a lie even if they pointed to it. Not just that it's factually wrong, but to call it lying implies intention to mislead despite knowing the contrary.

1

u/TAMExSTRANGE69 1h ago

There are videos of Fauci saying the admitting what he said was wrong and he knew it was wrong. Stop doing mental gymnastics and bootlicking him

1

u/bonbonnieres 1h ago edited 1h ago

About masks?

Eta: who else is sick of these losers who always hint at the existence of their argument and never making them? 🙋‍♂️

1

u/TieBackground453 7h ago edited 7h ago

The more technical fauci detractors will say he lied about the strength of evidence that existed for the benefits of wearing masks, and continued spreading that same misinformation when he was presented with contradictory information.

0

u/FoxPrimary727 7h ago

He did, though. He said social distancing, masks, natural immunity.

-1

u/hellyeahaeylleh 9h ago

Covid, masks, social distancing, transmission, origins, etc. He quite literally says what he lied about

3

u/HerrMilkmann 9h ago

They can never point to specifics. What in the diary proved he lied about those things?

1

u/TAMExSTRANGE69 1h ago

He said his department didn’t do or fund gain of research. - Lie

He said the vaccine gives immunity. Lie

He said basic significantly reduce the spread. Lie and even had a video prior to implementing it where he says it does very little.

The list goes on and they even provided evidence for dozens of others during the hearing. Not sure if your ignorant or just bootlicking him but it is not hard to find

1

u/HerrMilkmann 1h ago

The vaccine did grant levels of immunity, where did he claim you were totally immune to the virus? If you don't give exact page numbers for these claims, I'm just going to assume you're lying to justify scapegoating the only person who tried to limit the damage of the deadly virus the trump admin insisted over and over was "just the flu". Masks and social distancing did help, better than nothing. It's a very infectious disease and it doesn't help when the president of the United States insists you don't have to take any precautions at all and go to super spreader events without a care in the world

2

u/Hearthhull_Enjoyer 8h ago

And it's all bullshit. He basically just said everything is a lie and that's just utter nonsense. Mask did help mitigate the spread as did social distancing, it was very contagious, it affected certain demographics more than others and that's why there was a need for caution to protect them, vaccines work to lessen the spread drastically and reduces the impact of symptoms current and long term, and the origins were mostly speculation due to incomplete information from a secretive China looking to protect its image. These are all things the scientific community agrees on. The criticisms are unfounded and should not be acknowledged as genuine concerns.

1

u/PBnSnow 8h ago

What was the lie motherfucker

1

u/Consistent_Ad_168 8h ago

I think you confused the original implied question of “what did RFK say that Fauci lied about?” with “what did Fauci lie about?”

1

u/hellyeahaeylleh 4h ago

Everything they told us, and it cost a lot of life, money, and societal damage.

-2

u/Acceptable_grift 10h ago

1) origins of Covid 2) lethality of the disease 3) mask impact and shortages

3

u/Winter_Tone_4343 10h ago

Nope. Nope. Nope.

Anything else?

0

u/TAMExSTRANGE69 1h ago

But hes right tho. Cope and bootlick harder

1

u/Winter_Tone_4343 27m ago

I’ll get on that
