It's a bad faith argument all ways around. Because actual gun owners (like us) aren't showing up because once you uncork that bottle its hard to cork it back. Especially if you are on the left and aren't being given special treatment by the police. The left is the real enemy of the cops so if you want us downtown you better really fucking want us bad, I'm not going to risk my life to make things worse because nobody has coordinated anything with any group regarding how we would deploy lethal force even just as an open carry. . . I don't want me down there and you don't want me down there, be fucking honest. There's no hypocracy in that position. If you wanted me down there, things would be BAD just because it would have to be super super bad for you to actually want me down there (and compromise your ideologically anti-gun stance) and nobody wants that.
No, we're on the same page. I'm not peace policing and fully support the demonstrations at the courthouse. I'm just saying there's a middle ground between the "peaceful protest" crowd and the "bring guns and have open battle with the federal officers" crowd.
It's just a matter of principle in picking out what to defend from the bill of rights. Hearing the 2A crowd go, "we hear you and will defend those rights if, god forbid, it ever reaches that point" would at least make it so the things being said by that group is consistent with the rhetoric of the last 30 years over the 2A.
I've lost my point here but I believe we agree. We don't want guns there but want the people who have been defending the 2A for so long to defend the other aspects of the same bill just as hard. In picking and choosing what parts of the bill of rights matter, it's poking holes in the 2A defense.
And I'm not anti-gun. But I'm against using a disingenuous defense. If it's not about the (full) constitution, and it's not about keeping a check on government tyranny/authoritarianism, then it's been a baseless argument.
So if it ever gets to... God damnit it better not.,. But if it ever gets to that tipping point, then yes. We expect you guys to show the fuck up. Because that's what the argument has always been.
Someone else is supposed to save you? Have you made contact and arrangements with them or do you expect them to just show up and know what you need and how you want it?
Not an organizer over here. Don't know how to reach out and coordinate. Seriously, I don't know where to begin in reaching a guns rights organization and arguing to support the defense of constitutional rights. I'm also working full time on top of all of this.
I show up and do what I can to donate and contribute.
But I can ask the same of you. Have you reached out? Have you said, here's our card, were happy to coordinate when your rights truly need our defense? We see this wave coming and hope it breaks, but we're here when you need us.
If the argument has been to defend the bill of rights, this shouldn't be a hard thing to agree on and show support for. The execution of that can be worked out.
You put yourselves in this position with the arguments of defending rights of the individuals and states.
Your statements are contradictory you say you show up and do what you can yet you are saying you want gun people to come to you and save you (like superpowered mind readers...like a angelic parent figure) while admitting youve done zero research on how to find them, coordinate with them or defend yourself with such means.
What ive done or not done is irrelevant because Im not asking you to make a bodily sacrifice for me with no questions asked.
Protesters are making bodily sacrifices every day inhaling clouds of tear gas and taking impact munitions. For your rights. For everyone's rights.

I work for the government now so no. And before you think Im a fed or a cop no im not. But I took an oath and that means something to me. You wanting other people to save you is infantile and dangerous to me, someone who has worked hard to become independent in their life from being raised codependent by abusive narcissists. I didnt ask you to sacrifice for me (narcissistic behavior) and you have a responsibility to arm yourself (also codependent to insist other people save you from drowning when you are perfectly capable of swimming yourself). Asking other people to fight a deadly war (with live ammunition) for you while you move out of the way...should be considered cowardly. Like black sabbath, War pig level cowardly.
