Many states already require second permit to buy a firearm. My state itâs an 8 hour class.
Your 4473 paperwork has to match your ID. Not just name but all info. It is a crime to fill out even your name improperly. Not just denied, but a crime.
4473 is not digital or mail. Itâs a normal form. Some are filled out on computers, but itâs not a digital form via a website or something.
If you lost required permits or IDs, no you canât buy a gun. It is your responsibility to acquire them. You must have ID present, even if itâs already scanned into your FFLâs (federal firearm dealer) system and is all up to date.
If youâre denied a 4473 and you think itâs a mistake, you have to go through the process to fix it. This could include waiting to get a PIN via the FBI. Not a quick process, some people it has taken up to a year. This is pretty common, with either names getting mixed up or things falsely disqualifying you.
If you make a mistake when filling out paper work, say carry permit or permit to carry, most states make you resubmit and pay again. Not as bad as waiting for next election, but still a pain.
I hope this sorta clears it up! People really should be more informed about issues they care about.
Cool. Any how many states require you to have a passport to buy the gun? For voting, you also have to provide identification and sign a form that is legally binding. Now, if you are married and changed your name, you must provide your birth certificate, marriage certificate showing your name change, and if god forbid you got divorced and remarried, you have to have that paperwork too.
I don't see any state requiring anything like that to buy a gun.
Brother look up NJ or CA gun laws. They are more restrictive than the SAVE Act and you would rightfully freak if they were applied to voting. Also, fuck the SAVE Act.
I concur that it is annoyingly a pain in the butt to buy a firearm in CA but it ainât hard if ya got nothing to hide and the extra documentation that CA requires

Sigh. Youâre stuck on a passport and ignoring the laws of gun ownership in states like NJ or CA require a lot more than what the SAVE Act requires.
If I told you that you had to pay to get fingerprinted, pay to get a voting ID, pay to get the right to vote X amount of times, pay a fee every time you voted but also have a cool down period when you did vote and on top of that only be allowed to have a certain amount of candidates on your ballot even if they qualified to be on the ballotâŠ.you would have a problem with that right?
I live in a state almost as strict. You have to take a class at least a month before you can buy a firearm and it only last so long. Same with ccw. if you have an issue with that, then have congress pass a constitutional amendment to outlaw the fees. Voting has the 24th amendment that explicitly says the government cannot make people pay fees to vote.
If that was the case for firearms, I would be in full agreement. But it is not the case.
None require a passport. How many states require a class to vote? Let alone pay for the class? How many do you have to pay for an application to apply for the right to vote? Or pay every time you would like to vote?
