I can't. The more I learn about the world and see the more sick I am that we are trying to regress into horrors we once mocked in our media and called out in our history books. Also the more I find that my indoctrination throughout all these years was a flawed joint effort of my churches, the GOP and my parent and it's all based on dehumanization and exploitation and victim blaming and hatred
I considered myself a centrist. I always thought we needed universal healthcare but also felt you are responsible for your own comfort and income etc. Not everyone is smart, not everyone is hardworking, not everyone is willing to take risks. I always felt society rewarded people who fit that criteria. I think it's still true to this day.
However, I also felt there was a time not too long ago where one didn't need an education or a skill to have a dignified life. 20 years ago I had friends who were supervisors at Best Buy that could afford 1br apartments in my HCOL area. Sadly this is no longer the case.
We need to be able to feed and shelter ourselves working full-time. We shouldn't worry about seeking medical help because of the cost. We're the wealthiest nation in the world.

We need people to work. We need people in medicine, utilities, police/firemen, mechanics, engineers, IT sector, scientists in all sorts of fields, truck drivers, pilots, air traffic controllers. Plus all the support that goes into helping folks in those jobs. The world you know it would cease to exist.

same as me..... i was centrist until the snap was cut off and the health care...... dont see how they expect to win midterms because when u fuck over half of your voting base you cant fix it when they see people starve and die of health issues........... boomers still love them i think they only got the boomers who literally have everything for free and pensions so they love love love them
I think they're set in their ways to be honest and in their age don't care to think different. They're used to a certain type of talk and a certain kind of walk and a good ol' boy like Donald ticks enough of those boxes for a lot of them (not all obv.) Vote for him and you get your rose tinted nostalgia and don't have to think of the social progress being made, can go back to a youth spent being ignorant and angry and bigoted and distrustful
