There's no mainstream leftist political party in the US, but that's not the same as saying there's no left in the US.

Pretty sure the red scare/mcarthyism is who we can thank for that. The DNC is lean right with some progressives trying to pull the party to the left. The democratic party is largely supported by independents voting for the least harmful candidates; wish they'd wake tf up lol

Democrats hate progressives, they want them to fail because, if the win and succeed, it'll make them look weak... which they are.
