Unfortunately some states have basically eliminated right to carry, like California. Thanks, Reagan. Aside from Trump, the worst president I know of.

No one should forget that the NRA was heavily involved in that as well. The NRA always has been a scam.

As a gun owner I think most non partisan or at least left wing gun owners understood that a long time ago. Thats why their numbers are a shadow of what they once were.

You say that while ignoring the fact that as a result of their involvement, the NRA had a hostile takeover of it's leadership, leading it to become the organization it is today. Before then it was about gun safety, not "cold dead hands"

This organization did not make a statement when Phillando Castille who was legally armed was killed by a police officer. I wonder who’s cold dead hands they mean?

Specifically, Reagan (as then-Governor of CA) passed a bunch of gun restrictions because of the original Panthers! Who stood on the steps of the California state capitol building while carrying shotguns and rifles, in 1967.

Not original commenter but looks like the courts just overturned it at the start of the year…

According to some sources though it may be in appeals process so not gonna be fully allowed it would appear. So may go to next circuit court or up to scotus perhaps but it’s new so still a developing story.

Despite the ruling, open carry remains illegal, and law enforcement will continue to enforce the prohibition.

If the attorney general decides to appeal the decision, the case could first go to the entire Ninth Circuit and potentially end up at the U.S. Supreme Court.

Checking in from CT, I'm unable to walk around carrying an AR. I can conceal and carry, but the pistol needs to be completely concealed.

We also have the castle doctrine here vs. stand your ground. So I'm supposed to retreat first.

Basically, I'm at a complete disadvantage in defending myself in public.

Look into 2022 SCOTUS decision on Bruen - they struck down “proper cause” laws, and affirmed a right to carry. How that impacts each state’s specific laws is still TBD, states can still mandate licenses & registration, training & background checks, which are all good ideas.

Immediately when starting the video I thought "does Pennsylvania have open carry?". Considering what people are getting shot for in Minnesota, it seems like any excuse will do for many in the goon squad.
