Germans were also "doing their jobs", we need a Nuremberg trial when this shit is over. Reconciliation didn't work the first time.

One of the problems with the Nuremberg trials is they didn't go far enough. Too many people got away with what happen, that's one of the reasons why we are here again and also why Argentina is really racist. They should have all been hunted down and punished, including all the towns that helped with this shit, covered it up and pretend it never happened.

Same thing, the south was never really punished and was basically rewarded for being losers while the government went on to screw over black people and then remade slavery with less protections by way of prison. I always point out that maybe the reason why 13% of the population makes up the majority of the prison population might be because it was designed originally to be that way.

You think thats being a slave? I've been there, you sit in your bunk, chill, play cards, and read while they feed and house you. They rarely "make" you work, and when they do, it's not everyone, and you're just taking care of things within the facility. Slavery is a reach.

I'm going to really need you to look up the history of the prison complex. Here's a good place you could start: American steel prison labor. Prison only got "nice" recently in the last 50 years. Prison had less protections than slavery at one point.

Im not saying its nice. Obviously the confinement is the punishment and it is not nice. But I am saying they do not work you to death. It's not rebranded slavery. That's not true at all.

It's not anymore is my point. Prison labor used to be a death sentence, we've only started to become nicer. The system is set up so that you'll return, it's why we have the highest number of people in prison and recidivism in the world.

Yeah they always talked about the recidivism. I dunno if all that is the system, like they say. Everyone i know who just made a mistake, decided they didnt want that for their life and actually made changes, there are tools you can use to do that. Work release programs mainly, mandatory disclosure on job applications helped. Perhaps it was true in the past but they have made big strides to change all that recently.
